What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

At this point Alf should give us his take on the twin paradox!

F.B.G. at 0540 hrs. 5.7 so ok for me whose fasting blood glucose doesnt vary much because I don't normally eat after 1800 the previous day.

Have a great Sunday whatever your way to find recreation and Shalom is.
Derek
Thought you might like to see this. Landed in my friends garden yesteday.

Good morning everyone from a cold and frosty start here in the dark and dangerous north. I have been given a sign for today. It’s in the form of a big pile of boxes and bags decanted from the attic and into the dining room. I may be required to perform some health and safety advice later on and may even be asked to get one foot on the ladder - bit late for me though. I have heard that plugging all your festive light strings into one long extension and then wiring back the appropriate circuit breaker gives you an extra source of heat . Luckily ours are all fancy LED’s and very environmentally friendly - just like electric cars - pass me some new batteries Elon. Art bit, a splash of colour added. I shall be using my bamboo ink dippers today. Not used them before so will be interesting to see how I get on with them. Hope your day contains some peace and joy. Best finish my koffy.

Morning all. 4.8 here and above freezing, a balmy 3C rising to 5 - double figures by mid week. Hugs for those in frost or snow. @dunelm thanks for the bird photo (I don't have Derek or Vinnie Jones' bird knowledge) - and the a-maze-ing art. Stop pretending you don't enjoy putting the decs up and get with the program. @jjraak I'm sure those refs mean something but they're lost on me, sorry. As for tempus fugit variability for me years do mainly but only on reflection. However some minutes, hours and days seem to "last a lifetime." #3 son and children are here today so we’ll probably have The Little Guy - my do that - and Big Sister - no, not there - decorating the tree. Believer or not have a wonderful carb dodgers Advent Sunday. Maranatha.

Good Morning Ladies and Gentlemen and those who will be forced into looking for buried Christmas decorations in sheds, garages and lofts, you know who you are, well I hope you know who you are, if you don’t know who you are ask a postman.

Blood sugars this morning were 6.3 and now after breakfast probably climbing.

Here in Tilehurst Towers it will be day two, to or too of the house being transformed into some sort fairy light grotto, all led. Mrs J has expectations and they are
1. I don’t offer helpful suggestions
2. I keep well away
3. I say things like “ Oh that looks nice “. I daren’t think otherwise Mrs J can read my minds, yep all of them!

Stay safe all.

Alf have some images from the land of your fathers to console you- and JKP's - who was born in aspirational Londonny, London.

Thank you for sharing this interesting information@lindisfel. One of these birds is still visiting our garden every morning to feed/ look out.

William Blake wrote this in 1794-
Nothing really changes much dose it

Is this a holy thing to see,
In a rich and fruitful land,
Babes reducd to misery,
Fed with cold and usurous hand?

Is that trembling cry a song?
Can it be a song of joy?
And so many children poor?
It is a land of poverty!

And their sun does never shine.
And their fields are bleak & bare.
And their ways are fill'd with thorns.
It is eternal winter there.

For where-e'er the sun does shine,
And where-e'er the rain does fall:
Babe can never hunger there,
Nor poverty the mind appall.

14.9 at 0430 today! Took basal insulin and a dose of bolus as well. Also took some pain killers to help me move a bit. Fell asleep again and didn't test again until 0900 by which time it was down to 8.9. Still there at the moment. Don't know what I did to cause that.

My new 2nd hand wheelchair arrived yesterday. It's as good as new and great value for £99 plus carriage. I will be using it next time into the Health Centre - much of today's pain and stiffness is due to walking with my Zimmer on Thursday for my bandaging. No problem - I know the cause and how to avoid it in future.

Thank you four the images, Aled Jones has a wonderful voice, not overly keen on the lyrics of the song, but fore some and it being a Sunday I suppose some will find it appropriate. Mrs J has banished me to do some plinky plonky with my 10:30am cup of tea, the tea is the constant, the time is the variable.
To quote Dave Alan “ May your God go with you “

Thank you @ianpspurs - as for the decs, baaaagh! Gobstoppers!

Good news on the wheelchair front. Is it a type that you can power yourself or will you require a pusher? Hope it gets you out and about in style.
