As you know, mate, I keep a food diary and discussed oils with my endocrinologist.Very interesting I was once on a site run by a very clever guy who was into citizen science.
He could change all his factors at will by eating different things or not eating.
Certainly all oils and what was in them was discussed and their harmfulness.
A few things, A few months ago I dropped butter and took olive oil instead. LDL dropped circa 1 click. 20%.
I went low carb and my HDL went up and my trigs dropped below 1. Some years ago.
I was really happy I would not ruin It with statins, their a farce, they calcify your arteries like Warfarin turns the stuff in your arteries into pipes of calcium.
Your greens have to go to get your INR up, they are a vitamin K antagonist like warfarin . So it was: stop taking your greens, but I would have my eyes suffer.
Regard the mix of oils: for the inuit their diet really containe a lot of omega3.
Whale blubber, seals, fish, even polar bears and geese in the summer had a lot in their fat
But. If you eat farm fed geese their full of omega 6 cos you have pumped that grain and omega 6 into them to them to fatten up.
If you eat beef from.a fattening lot, fed on grain, bingo you've done the same, you will soon have a full house and metabolic syndrome, so we are knackering our health in the cause of a swift buck for some.
Enough said, preaching over.
I avoid palm oil, I don't like eating OrangutansAs you know, mate, I keep a food diary and discussed oils with my endocrinologist.
Butter did come up, but as soon as I mentioned lactose intolerance, it was never spoken of again, after I described my incidents with dairy and my response to it. Not very nice.
Anyway, I agree with statins, told to stay away unless I actually do have a heart issue, which I don't.
Did try because of my family history, but I had had side effects after only a day.
Back to oils, in my experience, only virgin olive oil suits me. Only animal fats agree with me. My bloods go up higher with vegetable oils, even though I'm low carb,
I'm very wary of some advice to use some oils and some ingredients like palm oil and such.
Anyway, again, I was thinking, when reading your eating out adventures, if you went into a bakers shop, could you, would you buy something for yourself that you could enjoy without spiking high?
I know shopping for Mrs L and the family, I sometimes wish I could and why it is so hard not to Temptation is a curse on me.thr phsrmaci
Nosher.
Do you see men like that retro bloke Smog is pleased when we do Brexit and the pound goes down . He beleives he loyaly works and has his company working to increase the money of theBut, aren't our government always right?
And they are making a law saying so! It's safe!
And black is white!
And your aunty is your uncle!
as long as someone is making money.
This is important in Conn's syndrome where one pees out potassium and holds on to salt.5.9 today had a phone call from the hospital yesterday seems my potassium levels were high and they want me to repeat the blood test to double check the results means another trip to Kingsmill Hospital.
It would drop in butter if the cows were fed on artificial feed and no grass unless they had fish.Interesting that you dropped butter which has the allegedly perfect 2:1 ratio of omega 6:3 whereas olive oil is 10:1. Inuit diet was about 1:4 - lots of omega-3 - but that is changing and some are now getting diabetes. These fatty acids do it seems need ‘tuning’ for individuals and with your LDL/HDL changes it seems that your change to olive oil is working well for you. Some recent researches are thinking that due to modern diets that 1:1 might be a good way forward.
The question is @dunelm was LDL being higher necessarily bad?Interesting that you dropped butter which has the allegedly perfect 2:1 ratio of omega 6:3 whereas olive oil is 10:1. Fox jumps up on swing
There was a lot of other activity this night with cats and badger. But as soon as Cat Jade left, the fox jumped up on the empty swing...

Snow here.
But it will be a couple of days before I process the SD cards to see what was about this snowy night...
The steep hill has not been gritted yet, at least not at 6am, I went out to peek...woe betide the expressway traffic using this shortcut today...a few meetings with walls, trees, front gardens?
Creative...something a little warm...started in Procreate and finished in SketchClub app...
Have your best day.
Time for a cuppa and a nap...been awake since 3.30 am...

Well we do need cholesterol - just how much - it’s another moveable feast I would suspect. Another one of those, “do you have a history of heart attacks in your family?” Butter - the grass is always greener on the other side so choose wisely. Any food with essential fatty acids needs low temperature cooking to preserve the fats - I beleive that frying fish destroys about half of what is available. With you on Palm Oli - a scourge on the planet. The question is @dunelm was LDL being higher necessarily bad?
Butter will not be universally good. I was responding to a current medical whim around lipid profile.
If the cows were free range eating grass or grass based fodder they may need some supplements that free ranging wild cattle got roaming around.
Too many variables for me to trust some claims.

Derek
Some snow here this am. a light covering , but more coming later.
Helen's taking Marjorie to Tai Chi it probably light snow in Carlisle. The wind chill yesterday felt like -10 it was actually -3 in the mid afternoon.
A guy went camping up western Greenland and existed on eating blubber apparently, he was a lot fitter when he stopped than when he started. I think he was a Brit Tim Spector knew, just knew the bones of the event. The question is @dunelm was LDL being higher necessarily bad?

Beautiful, this is stunning @dunelmGood morning everyone from a storm damaged start to the day here in the dark and dangerous north. 5.4 on the festival of fools programme at 0530. The lower prom was pelted with pebbles the night before last. Fence on top of the sea wall next to the pub is shredded and there was a fire in the pump room of the funicular which is currently being put down to an electrical fault. Hey ho! Worse than that, my back decided that it was far enough into the year to throw a hissy fit and so my first tramadol day of the year marked onto the calender. Hopefully it has calmed down and I can have a walk into town. Art bit, a bit of sunshine and a sprinkle of salt. Hope your day is kind to you. Don’t use olive oil in your Tilley lamps. Koffy time for me.
