What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

I do believe that practice dsns are still being taught that being cautious about lowish BG levels, are the best way to keep you from going hypo. That is why above normal levels for those on insulin is recommended.
you know your own body better and have the experience to be able to monitor your BG levels, so you don't go hyper or hypo.
Cos of my RH, that is me, and it's better for me in normal levels than having spikes or hypos.
Take care.
Best wishes.

Thanks @Lamont D. It's good to "hear" someone say something sensible about it.

Huge hug for that @Lamont D

Very upsetting all round.

I did find my mum was very prone to water infections, which upped her confusion tremendously.

Easily sorted once doctors aware

Just thought I'd mention.

Hope Mrs L isn't hurting too much after the fall.

And I hope the rail replacement wasn't too taxing.

Kalanicta (at some point )
For now, Yamas my friend .

I think since I was diagnosed I have always h had an open mind trying to find how I'm going to get my health back and not be dead, before my time. This involved a lot of discovery of what is best for me and my tastes.
so if it was recommended for me to eat cooked vegetables. I would refuse point blank.
I don't like eating them.
If I can eat veg that is not cooked that is ok I have always liked salads, no dressings of course cos they are just sugars.
I found I'm partial to some fish but I can't eat oily fish or most seafood.
so with my lactose intolerance, with RH, I have had to tailor my food to the way is beneficial to my body, my treatment, my tastes and my BG levels.
other than my body aging with the mental stuff, I'm doing well.
I will find out my latest results next week when we go to see our dsn.
I haven't had a get in touch letter. So I'm hopeful of a decent result.
If not, I will continue to battle on as best I can.
The bottom line is, you know your body better than anyone.
Your eating habits are yours not theirs to understand and commit to.
It's like the meds, too many of us are on too much prescription drugs.
The number of times I have refused them especially statins, metformin.
I have to remind the doctors, dsns and the pharmacy cos a lot of pills have sugars and have lactose in.
I need sugar free tablets or meds when I'm ill.
I take enteric aspirin and irbesarten.
When I was taking sitagliptin, cos it was made by license, my endocrinologist had to find a company that did enteric and no sugar and lactose free.
Fun isn't it?
A lot of cold, flu remedies are just full of nasty stuff for those with metabolic conditions such as diabetes and we keep getting told to take sweets cos that is what they are. Ridiculous, just like the so called diabetic foods that are full of s.......!
Rant over.
Have a wonderful evening.

Yamas to you my friend.
I am so jealous.
I could write an essay about my jealousy.

Mrs L is fine, , as much as Mrs L can be, no significant damage that I could see.

Mrs L often complains about infection, but it's the diabetic drug that helps get rid of the glucose stored.
hope you can watch the sport there. The England game is awful, so boring.Half time and very powderpuff.

enjoy the sun and the peace and tranquillity.
wish I was there!

Farage is standing as a reform dude in Clacton.
a s.......! In a s........!
And Queen Anne was named in the Mersey today!

Just some good news for a change, my gas/electricity bill is being reduced by another £11.50 from july!
It is still too high the robbing bar stewards.
Kalanicta you lot.

A couple of hours ago I had an interesting experience.
I had to pick up some stuff, and I decided to do it then instead of in the morning. I am going back to the car with my walker loaded...when suddenly a blazing row starts between a woman (outside the car) and a man (in the car). Her friend who was standing next to me, whipped out her phone, 'I've got to video this', she said.

We are both watching the woman get intensely angry with the man in the car, screaming and shouting at him, kicking and banging on the car. I couldn't make out the words (they were probably not printable anyway) until she got to 'YOU SCUMBAG' and with this she slammed the car door with such a ferocity, that if it had been a clown's jalopy in a circus it would have fallen apart.

The man in the car slammed his foot on the pedal and the car skidded and screeched out of the car park.

The woman next to me quickly put her phone away, and carried on helping me get my stuff in the car....

A pity about the pub @dunelm. They could have spruced up the inside without doing away with the18thC features which were part of its charm.

An artist's impression of a knobbly, gnarled and stunted tree. Thanks for sharing.

Monday's FBG 4.4 mmol on waking at 6.00 am.

Morening all

Blood sugars this morning were 6.6

Early start today I have to get Mrs J up and running for a visit to the fracture clinic, why am I thinking about that controversial gas and oil drilling method, ah the word fracking or fracture. Plot lost big time.

Stay safe all.

I want to give you hug and winner @alf_Josiah
You deserve both...

I am blaming the solar flares at the weekend, resetting the electrics on my central heating, resetting the electrics on the car...and resetting me...yup me lost the plot too....

Fbg 6.7

Supposed to be rain today, but it is holding off so far...

Wildlife video, nighttime
Badgers jump on swing
At least 2 different badgers... Badger annoys the cat again, waits til cat leaves, and then jumps on swing and has a good nose around...

Creative...An older man walking hunched up a bit (maybe age), his head was down all the time. He walked past my car windscreen a few times. No idea what his purpose was, because he walked out of sight each way a few times...he wore a leather brown jacket with what looked like the motif of a wolf on the back with a forked tongue. Pale blue jeans. His shoes were patchwork leather mules. I quite liked his footwear...

Time for a cuppa and a nap...

Have your best day

Not had the plot for a long, long time!
I am also blaming the solar flares for all the issues going on at our house!

Morning all on frez up yer ninny (© Mrs R.E.D. P aka my mum) Tuesday in L.A. No known fbg but it would be interesting as my souped up immune system has gone rogue and large blisters erupt without notice. I'm less skin covered than wound dressing covered. Fortunately JKP trained as a nurse, there are none in delicate areas and Amazon deliver - not sure about other offal. Since Saturday I can really only wear a sock on my left foot due to a cluster of goodies, several dressings and a bandage. so step count is minimal. We all have different crosses to bear so no hugs please. My treatment team are aware and the big picture is that last scan showed a stable disease. I'm taking a break from drip trip this time. @alf_Josiah I hope Mrs A. J. had a positive visit to the fracture clinic. @gennepher what a strange story of rage. Thank you for that magnificent sketch. Two grandchildren here later - the Little Guy ™ and his Big sister, England playing cricket (should win that one) so there's all the hugs and blessings a man could ever need. Take care, don't over do the yamas and peace be with you.

6.6 this long working day.
Boiler fixed yay!
Air conditioner in kitchen done. Yay!
Air conditioner in bathroom ongoing. Wait for it.
Shower assessment a no show. Now Friday! Ugh!
Have been cleaning up before (why?) And after the mess done and sorted kitchen, got rid of a few items that I'm hoping Mrs L won't miss.
Got more to do when the lad doing the work has done. Be glad when today is over.
Mrs L has had a mishap and it needed cleaning. It never stops.
Gotta go, too much to do.

Kalimera.

Thank you very much @ianpspurs
Enjoy your cricket...

6.9 at 0630 today. Very tired so went back to sleep in the chair until about 09.30. BG up a bit by then, but had breakfast and insulin and it's down into the 5's now, which is where I want it. Put my basal insulin up to 50u from the 48 the nurse wants me to use and I think I will be more comfortable with that, but we'll see how it goes.

Had a letter today from an organisation called "OVO" telling me that they have my data and explaining how it is safe with them. Never heard of OVO so why do they have my data? The letter wasn't addressed properly - no name, just the house number and the Postcode. There is one mention of energy efficiency at the bottom of the first page so I wonder if it is something to do with our new heating system, or just some kind of junk/scam. Not sure what to do about it at the moment.

Just googled them - energy company.
