Very dissolute you are...Blueberry muffin!!!
Good news there John. Those community nurses are amazing. I have teams of two every other day come to apply steroid cream to areas of skin or what was skin and redress? me literally from shoulder to toe. My, but cream containing paraffin is a fun sensation on some areas. Reminds one of the good times at boarding school with Nige/Jacob/BozzaCommunity nurse just left she came to sort out my back seems they will be coming daily till the 9th I had no idea.
Congratulations Mrs A J on completing part 1 of retraining young Alfred into at least woke for an 18th century cave dwelling man. A journey of 1000 miles begins with one step. Top, top lady. Hang in there fella because you have been batting way, way above your average for years with that wonderful lady.Good afternoon Ladies and Gentleman.

Four those interested here is an update on Mrs J’s recovery from her broken wrist.
Mrs Js progress has been astounding. Her achievements in no particular order
Mrs J has managed to dress herself in clothes I’ve never seen before and always say when questioned “ I’ve had this ages “
Her knife throwing accuracy has improved enormously along with cups, plates and saucepans, empty or full.
Shoes, I won’t mention shoes, just to many to mention.
Her ability to take short naps is showing no bounds.
Unfortunately Mrs J is a bit ( read that as a lot ) intolerant of slight transgressions from politely worded requests ( the word demands should not be used if you aim to survive ) any deviation from these requests results in the rant bit of the word intolerant.
J
Mrs J is an extremely skilled teacher of the correct way to hang washing out on the washing line. I never knew there was a correct way to hang wash out. I do now and so does the entire neighbourhood. The noise abatement society have been in contact……
I must end this short update and will post further updates ( if I survive )
Yes dear just coming…….

Ouch Derek! A fall can be quite alarming. Do be careful, you are too valuable to be damaged. Glad that you managed to land on the bed though so wouldn't have come to too much harm. I hope.Helen sent me a couple of WhatsApps from Northern Penines, apparently covered in Common Orchids and song of skylarks.
She must have shares in the Scargill retreat.
Had a little fall this am that upset me a bit.
I fell over the bed backwards over a wooden board end, I thought I would finish up hitting the carpet with the back of my head but managed to land on the bed.
Derek
do please take care!Helen sent me a couple of WhatsApps from Northern Penines, apparently covered in Common Orchids and song of skylarks.

Thank you @gennepher for sharing your encounter with a Poplar Hawk-moth. Perhaps it was freshly emerged from its pupa and still a little unsteady.Fbg 6.7
Last night it was dark and I needed something from the potting shed. Well...it was all go...first I thought I saw a lactating vixen (never seen her before) and she melted back into the shadows.
Got my thing from the potting shed, locked up, and I am aware of a big beastie landing on my back. I am trying to get it off but I can't reach it. Jade is demanding supper. Midnight is watching from the bungalow doorway coming to the conclusion I have gone doolally. Finally I get this beastie off my back. It lands on the ground. It is panicking. Jade is already wriggling her bottom ready to pounce.. I scoop the thing up in my hand, not knowing what I am scooping up. It is dark.
It is the biggest moth I have ever set eyes on. Its wingspan was wider than my hand width. It was still panicking and couldn't get on its little feet. I put it on the garden table, but it appears to panic more, and was rolling over and over.
I was fearing at this point that I had hurt it trying to get it off my back. I sat down on the garden chair and held it with both hands to try and examine if I had hurt it. Its wings were fluttering so fast it was a blur, but it appeared unable to fly at this minute, and had no balance.
I wondered if I had knocked it off a branch while it was still sleeping. Finally it got a grip with its little feet on the palm of my hand and looked at me for a good minute, but its wings were a total blur. I got my phone out of my pocket, and put it on nightsight, but by this time the moth is marching determinedly up my arm.
Quickly I picked it off and placed it on some comfrey next to me.
It had obviously got its bearings by now, and was able to grab a stick, and still looked at me. I managed one photo, before it determinedly grabbed my fingers again, marching up my arm to my shoulder, and then took flight. It was just a complete blur in flight...
And Jade was still asking for her supper...
It was about 11pm by now.
Google tells me it is a Poplar Hawkmoth.
Here is my photo in the thumbnail, click and it will enlarge, all you will see is a cute hairy face, the wings are a total blur but you can just make out the wing on the right in the photo. If you don't like flying beasties then don't click on it!
I do that with my reading glasses @gennepher. I'm forever mislaying them, but I digress. Thank you for sharing an imaginative illustration. I'd like to climb to the brow of that hill. I want to know what is on the other side.Creative...I keep putting my black drawing pens down in strange places that I cannot find my pen...so this morning I was using a black English fountain pen for this sketch with a fine nib. Immediately I started drawing in my English way of drawing , so to speak...oh well..I need to go on a black pen search today...
