What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Shame about the lack of fruit and also the muggy air but what a wonderfully cheery kaleidoscope.

Due to the building work it will be takeaway this evening. We are fortunate to have far more and more varied takeaway outlets than the average town of this size. I like this one and am opting for what I think may well be relatively keto: salmon Tikka starter; tandoori mixed grill - salad only (menu) JKP is off out this evening with the partners of two sons. There is a boutique cafe by day cum bar by night in town - very trendy I read. I hope the bar is well stocked as the Lithuanian damsel is a thirsty little gel. Not advertising just saying that after 8 years I think I may have found some takeaway food that almost fits this crazy way of eating when there is an emergency. I don't think UK takeaway or eat in does that and definitely not at a sensible price point - not for me anyhow,.

6.1 yay!

Gas off at 7.30!
Salad for first meal, and probably second as well!

Cricket and Jimmy over.
I would ask him to see the summer out.
As a lanky suppoter, he could and should come back to Old Trafford and play there!

Was gonna get paint out again today, cos if not, it would now be Monday to do it, as it is a celebration this weekend for Mrs L.
As tomorrow is Mrs L 's birthday.
And it's the twelfth today.
My son is working in N.I. And has sent pictures of the Belfast area.

@gennepher, I cannot believe that you need all your fans on to keep cool?
I'm certain that in N.Wales, it is not that warm, mid teens temps.
I'm sitting with politics social on the box while posting and reading on here, with the back door open in shorts and T-shirt!
I'm not cold.
I do think that, your homeostasis is overheating, somehow.
Before diagnosis, in winter, I would be doing exactly the same, because of the rollercoaster blood glucose levels were causing my homeostasis to make me sweaty, it would have to be really freezing to get me to shut the doo
Maybe it is the architecture of your bungalow or the design to keep heat in.
It doesn't seem right to me.
But I could be totally wrong.
That is what doctors are for.
To ask why?

Gasmen meanwhile are making a right noise and a mess outside, it is labour intensive, they do work hard, the lads, have made cuppa for them. Apparently, out of my hair tonight!
Cheeky buggers.

Seems the financial services are reviewing the doom and gloom, since last week, pound has gone up!

Why did **** Tyson wait for this week to announce redundancies in U.K.?

Why does **** Tyson donate to the tories?

As a brexiteer, why has Dic k Tyson, taken jobs away from U.K.? Not only to the far east, but to Europe?

Hard week for us lot on here, there is always some health thing as we get older. My list below has grown so much these last ten years. It always seems one knock after another.
Have a lovely weekend.

Happy birthday tomorrow Mrs L That wasn't a test match, more an elongated T20. Jimmy needs to coach the young 'uns before the next Ashes imho. Dyson and Tim Martin should both just shut up and live quietly with their money - they are what I believe the Osage brilliantly called blackbird mouths. I have actually been in a Wetherspoons for refillable coffee - there was cream. We'll leave it there. Dyson's kit is grossly overpriced and doesn't deliver imho. Actually, that sums up the Brexit deal Frost and Bojo cobbled together perfectly

I do like that phrase @ianpspurs.

That sounds like the perfect set up @ianpspurs

I have loads of olive oil that I use for cooking eggs. The oil has never been implicated in weight gain. But then again I do not believe the human body is a calorimetry.
I certainly would never count calories.
D.
That is interesting @lindisfel. I had resisted using more olive oil because I was concerned about putting on weight but it does look as though I was wrong.

You do have a colourful way of explanations.
I think Jimmy can do whatever he wants?????

If you can watch Larry and Paul's YouTube video.
it's about Labour's first week. Hilarious!

It's no fun when the adults are in charge!

Always seems to be a chew on with food choices when eating out/take aways. Far too much stodge. I like our Italian restaurant as I can get fish or seafood with salads (no dressing please, just bring some olive oil). Enjoy what you have chosen.

Happy Birthday for Mrs L tomorrow @Lamont D

I have always liked lower temperatures than the people around me. I am going back donkeys years. About 16 or 17C is my limit for heat.

There is something up with these bungalows in how they retain heat in the warmer months. I noticed it when I first moved here 20 years ago...

Have a great day tomorrow...

Gas back on at last. At 8pm the lads are still working.
They should have finished hours ago, but had issue with the mains pipe.

Gonna be a busy day tomorrow. I hope Mrs L can be a little bit happy seeing the clan.

Have a wonderful weekend you lot.
Take care.

That's right @Krystyna23040.

Fats not only play an important role in the control of diabetes, but also weight management. It may sound counterintuitive, but fats do not make a person fat. Carbohydrates in excess do that!

Fats will prevent you from losing weight if you overdo it, but have no effect on insulin; the body's fat-storing hormone, and will not cause weight gain.

When cooking, I'd steer clear of industrial, processed oils like the soy, corn, sunflower and safflower oils often hidden in processed foods, You won't go far wrong if you keep to butter and extra virgin olive oil at the outset and gradually extend your range of cold pressed oils along with your LCHF recipe collection.

Friday's FBG 4.7 mmol on waking at 6.00 am

Morning all from a damp L.A. A niggling sort of uncomfortable since about 3.00 am so got up so as not to disturb the slumbering natives. Water, steroids - after a couple of slices of Emmental because I read the leaflet - antibiotics, tea (wait 30 mins after some other meds) and some morning devotional songs are working - thanks be to God literally. Probably the dust and damp have affected my already unhappy skin and itching is a major no no. I could (should?) take the pain killers prescribed but real men don't eat quiche either. More tea and reading then rugby to watch. Happy birthday Mrs L. Have a fine tune - and words - with pictures. Not an area I warm to - I like Padstow, well I would wouldn't I? - but many adore it, JKP talked me into visits. Y'all have a good day because we may be getting an extra bank holiday - do your patriotic duty and shop

Fbg a disappointing 6.3 today am telling myself tomorrow is another day and who knows what it will bring.
Hug for the fbg John. Tough times don't last but tough people do and though I've never met you in person I sense you are made of the right stuff. You know as well as me that its Friday but Sunday's coming - fbg is just one of the ways we are tested. I've PMd you a little encouragement.

I started with the extra olive oil to help with inflammation and gut health but am really pleased that it has lowered my blood sugars during the day and has also kick started my weight loss. Those 3lbs were stubbornly refusing to move prior to the extra olive oil.

I had no idea that we had this miracle cure in our kitchen cupboards all along.

We only use extra virgin olive oil, coconut oil and butter for cooking as I agree the other oils are not good for us.

I am glad that I checked this post prior to posting it as predictive text inserted but health instead of gut health

Morning Ian and welcome to my world of early rises and having to take one pill with a glass of water and then sit for 30 minutes - gives me time to reflect (bonus). Nice tune cat, reminds me of early years when life seemed so different. Never been to Padstein but I like the boys TV shows. Don’t forget to dig out your copy of Chosen Words by Ivor Brown for tomorrow
