Glad you are back safely @dunelmGood morning everyone from the quietness of the early morning in what looks to be an all things bright and beautiful day here in the dark and dangerous north. A tiring day yesterday. We arrived home at 1am and grabbed some sleep before picking up The Girl In The Bubble by 9am - her parents were off to a wedding. So a pleasant day with our granddaughter with strict instructions from her dad about no ice cream - yeh, right. That’s like taking a pleasant stroll along a path in a park admiring the plantings and without a care in the world until all of a sudden being confronted with a sign saying “keep off the grass”. The Window Doctor is due at 10am - replacing two double glazed glass panels that are blown. A lot more cost effective than replacing the whole window as well as not throwing perfectly serviceable frames into landfill. Art bit, how many trees form a bunch? I hope that your day is going to be as good as ours will be - no idea what the content will be yet so I will make a start by organizing a pot of koffy.
That is a stunning creative and the story of the inspiration is amazing. From a sleepless in? - not Seattle obviously - shadow on the wall to that awesome work of art is way beyond my comprehension. What a gift - thank you so much for sharing the creative and story of the inspiration. How anyone can see such things in a shadow is mind blowing for me.Fbg 6.8

Creative...well, I was awake all night. Couldn't drop off to sleep, not in any pain, fans working okay, breathing okay, but no sleep. So, just lay there watching the shadows. But they were nightmarish shadows and weird monsters with evil faces and long pointy fingers. I wasn't going to draw them. So, I just lay there.
At first light I got out of bed. Did a couple things, got back into bed to write this, but just sat doing nothing for an hour, no drawing/painting ideas...
C'mon, stop wasting the day I told myself. But then the sun came out, it only shines in my bedroom early morning in summer. There were loads of shadows cast on the wall. Several tableau's, and I am watching them. This one took my eye, and I have faithfully drawn it. It was a Chinese man jumping out of the sky on to the ground, right down to his plimsols in the shadow. He was leading two elephants, which are in the oval above his head, where there was a feather and an Angel fish, also in the oval bubble. The ground is grass, and at the top of the hill is either a table or a house...
I had to photo it before I lost it, but the shadow stayed long enough for me to draw it...
Going to make a cuppa now and try for a nap. The sun has gone in.

Some wonderful days ahead for members here, dreams to be either realised or shattered in Paris in the coming two and a half weeks and three grandchildren's birthdays in nine days for myself and JKP. @dunelm good news on a safe but tiring return home. As for #icecreamgate, sometimes what goes on with grandparents is probably best to stay with grandparents. Thank you for sharing the art and Martin Lewis style tip about windows. The attached illustrates what is at stake come November in the US and would be exported here via the beer and fags Poundland Parody man. Thank you @gennepher - our journey out and back was in the main quite uneventful, unlike some that gets reported. Still, not much you can do about things outside your control. I have pondered about the idea of putting into the lemming like minds of the eco-warrior mobs the idea of protesting against the use of air conditioning - it might solve the problems of over tourism and bring about the demise of too many Air B&B’s.Glad you are back safely @dunelm

Had similar Monday night - think it was some roasted red pepper salad that may not have been so fresh - I made rehydration drink with water, sugar and salt - did the trick but whacked up my blood sugars no end. Hope you are over it by the end of the day.Very sick thursday evening with bad stomach. I completely emptied the contents of my stomach from the day. Feeling slightly better today.

Yesterday MrSlim had a fall and is badly bruised. He may have cracked a rib or two as well. Luckily he has a hard head and the egg sized lump is already going down.
A few days rest is definitely needed now.
The next viewing is on Tuesday.
The much longed for electric mole bomb trap arrived Monday and has so far caught a mole each day. Maybe this will be the end of filling wheelbarrows with molehill soil every morning. For some reason the molehills this year are enormous and MrSlim has taken to using a trailer to collect them. Perhaps this is why he ordered the new mole trap? Now if it could catch the mole who tunnels under my greenhouse that would be really useful.
No luck rescheduling the leg-wrapping appointment. Have to wait until my next appointment next Thursday with my legs unbandaged. Hate to think what state they will be in by then; they are already beginning to swell uncomfortably. Never mind, it's only discomfort, nothing serious and I've just ordered one of those electric TENS type footpads to see if that will help. Should be here by Tuesday.What an awful start to your day @Ann

Hug for Mr Slim and hope he's not too badly damaged and will recover quickly. Hug too for the mole problem. That's one problem we don't have - our ground is too wet for moles to live in it. The water table must be only inches below the surface.26.07

I am having great difficulty sleeping and very constipated with not eating. This doesn't auger well.

Yesterday would have been Tom's 90th birthday. He's no longer with us, of course, but it was still a day for remembering. Em turned up in the afternoon with a bunch of sunflowers - her Grandad's favourite flowers - as a gift for him and me. Sweet child. She even remembered that they were his favourite flowers and she can only barely remember him, she was so young when he died. Her last present to him was a picture of a bright red dragon which she put into his coffin to keep him company.
BG was crazy yesterday - 3 hypos in all and then, due to cramming in the carbs to make BG stay up, high readings all evening and night. Still high today - 13.0 just now.
MrSlim as usual is "fine" .Hope MrSlim isn't in too much pain and he does rest. Good that he has got a hard head.
