Thank you for your kind thoughts and for sharing the photos. Whimsy in the D and D N, who knew? Anyhow, whatever happened to Lord Peter?. Did he become JRM, you never see them in the same room. Thank you for giving us the benefit of your artistic and literary skills plus your dry? wit - what exactly is that anyhow?I don’t do prayers but will contemplate on your wellbeing and for a good outcome. Waitrose spare ribs sound marvelous. If only we had leveled up in order to have deserved such an emporium of wonder. Biofuel power stations throw out more pollutants than coal power stations - who knew!
Thank you John and God bless you. I like the ethos of those people. My very strange bias would make me refuse to fully enjoy a Welsh cheese, sad but I need to honestly acknowledge my sins. If I'm honest my taste in cheeses isn't generally British these days which seems on trend - Stilton and cheddar that strips the palate for a while being exceptions. Have you ever tried the raw milk from that wonderful place?@ianpspurs our thoughts and prayers are with you and we all shall hope for good news.
Our nearest Waitrose is about 17 miles from here but they do deliver as you say the spare ribs are great.
When we are able we purchase organic food stuffs from here https://www.gazegillorganics.co.uk
I do like the Caws Teifi a Welsh Artisan Cheese that is available there.
And I like their Ethos which they state as being and I quote
"It's All About Nature & Sustainability
Sustainability and farming for a better future is at the forefront of everything we do, with organic heritage wildflower meadows, combined with low intensity farming, and traditional British rare breeds."
I do hope it goes well this morning.Morning all on an enigmatic start to the weather here in the riddle that is neither The Brecks nor The Fens - it just "is." @JohnEGreen hug for the fbg level but bearing in mind the stress of your family loss and ongoing medical issues sub double digits seems like a podium finish. Thoughts and prayers with you. Mid-morning face to face at Addenbookes (CUH)* (see attached) and presumably feedback from the CT scan several weeks ago. Not gonna lie, only a complete clownshoe would ignore how badly that could turn out. No amount of faith could or should stop my mind from going there. My times are in God's hands - always were, always will be. Hope for the best - stable - prepare for the worst. Prayers appreciated but mine produced a nicely lowered resting heart rate, target sleep length and sleep score. Presumably Elsie Keto (mackerel in EVO salad last evening, 3 tsp EVO in dressing, <30 gms daily carb) may have played a part but colour me (very) sceptical. Could be a Starbucks and Mothership Waitrose Trumpington day. Waitrose have the best meaty spare ribs I've found anywhere. Enjoy your own version of super salmon salad day. Psalm 46 was a good start to mine.
Winner for your attitude, Ian. Praying for the best possible result from today's consultation. If today does turn out to be a Starbucks/Waitrose day, enjoy it while it lasts. Ah, is that it?Yes @gennepher there's a shortage of some naturally occurring bird foods in July and August and, following a successful breeding season, there will be extra beaks to feed!
Thursday's FBG, 4.7 mmol on waking at 6.00 am.
Starting your Xmas cards early @dunelm ?Good morning everyone on a cool and breezy start to the day here in the dark and dangerous north. 5.5 this a.m. The local knitters and clackers have changed the topping on the post box in the high street. Always gives folk a smile, well those that actually do observe what is beyond the end of their noses. Hidden in plain sight springs to mind. Lunch went well yesterday 12 of us, including 4 tiny people accompanying a smattering of grandparents - what fun! Brought half of my lunch home with me - far too much but not going to waste a pretty good piece of gammon. No idea what we are doing today so whatever it is will be a lovely surprise. As my granny used to point out when out on a day trip, “there’s a view round every bend.” Art bit, whatever residue is presently in my mixing dishes and a dab of ink. Hope the sun shines on at least some of your day. I need to make a cafetière of koffy and then have a video chat with my mother.

Thinking about someone with kindly concern is pretty well the same thing as prayer.I don’t do prayers but will contemplate on your wellbeing and for a good outcome. Thank you @ianpspursGood afternoon all - and it is. CT scan from July 23rd showed disease stable - shrunk a tad from 2 years ago almost to the day. Actually on no meds or treatment for cancer and haven't been since late May. Next scan in October. God is good Utred. Thank you all for the prayers and good wishes. As @Annb says

Starbucks - tick. Shopped the backside out of Waitrose (including 2x Zoe 30+ daily - on offer - since gut health is a biggy with my oncologist) - if not now when? Do I actually need oysters? no obviously not but we have a shucker and chain mail gloves and there's no telling if they will be needed in the next life. Samuel didn't tell Saul about that and Jesus was silent on that subject on the road to Emmaus. @gennepher hug for the back and cost of living for birds crisis but winner for the creative. @Annb hug for the arthritis pain. @Lamont D good news that housing have finished but hug for Mrs L's happenstance. Enjoy the song - of course I am.
