What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Morning all at the start of a sunny weekend in L.A. Wasted on me in many ways but definitely lifts my spirits. I can still get away with t-shirts and shorts but I do need secret (bamboo apparently) socks to protect my feet. Talking of socks, it seemed like a capital idea to come over all Marie Kondo on a sock drawer just before 5.30 a.m. Yesterday went well for the long term big problem, thanks be to God. My pilgrimage has entered a new land, I have left the land of checkpoint inhibitors - Avelumab immunotherapy - with a defunct thyroid system and an autoimmune attack on my dermatological system. In the desert for forty years the Israelites' shoes and clothing fared so much better - some here do like VFM. Traversing the land where dwelt the Bullous Pemphigoid I slightly "whored after strange gods"/definitely wanted more than Manna (no quail, not even Dan), at times: too much peanut butter, daily grenade bars and too many days over 30 gms carb. Unlike Korah my complaints don’t seem to have been seen as a direct challenge to God in the same way. I’m now in a new land where a few makers need work, in my opinion anyhow, as they are not perfectly in the green on the CUH scale. After praising God and enjoying yesterday I have work to do. The Prednisolone, Doxyxycline, Pemphigoid, sub-optimal exercise and self-medicating the stress at peak chaos have had an impact. T2 doesn’t go away completely and I haven’t been through eight, at times horrible, years from eating this bizarre way just to roll over and accept the situation. Time to recalibrate, bend the ears of the medics and do better. I clearly won’t have the bloods profile of a top athlete or even peak me but I’m not just rolling over and letting a rubbish situation dump on me. This is the new land on my Pilgrimage, something of an Olympian's journey to my own imaginary podium. Enjoy your Saturday and your own Olympian’s journey whatever that may look like be it making and sharing a creative, wildlife care, taking a walk, baking, dealing with pain or loss, going to footie, caring for loved ones, woodwork or whatever. Good morning everyone on an overcast start to what bodes to be a sunny day here in the dark and dangerous north. 4.8 this a.m. to the chirping of Cilla, “surprise, surprise”. Veterans Breakfast Club this morning and at the same time, Farmers Market and the added bonus of the Saltburn Folk Festival. Lots of things to avoid and some things to cheer and clap. At least four ukulele bands - I’m visualizing All In, MMA Ukulele It’s a Knockout where the losing team gets dunked into the sea and the referees (Paul Shane and Ruth Madoc) are wearing their yellow blazers from that old TV series, Hi-di-hi! Art bit - a storm in a teacup. Best get a move on, we need to leave the house at 0845 to walk into town and I have to dig out my ankle bells and morris sticks. Hope your day goes well, I need to take some pills and drink koffy.

Loving the All in MMA and Hi-Di-Hi references although I’d have stern words with that Chimp on the shoulder for those zoonotic influences. @LivingLightly @JohnEGreen @Annb and anyone I forgot thank you all for the good wishes yesterday. O2 level 100% and resting HR back in 60s and that's after only one scoop of Zoe30+ - must be good stuff

Am counting down the hours.
Actually, the hours fly by at supersonic speed when I am teaching so no need count down the hours. It is so strange how time can sometimes can go by really fast and other times so slowly.
 
Like for all the joy your family are bringing to you but a hug for Mr Slim and the pain from his ribs. Pain like that leads to exhaustion, so no wonder he feels a bit down about it all. Happy first birthday to the baby next week.
 
Slept longer than usual last night so didn't manage to get up until just after 05.00 when BG was 5.7. Happy with that.

Hands and feet a bit better today so I might actually get around to doing the baking I've been promising myself.

I did manage to find an odd-job man but he's very busy. He says he will come on Tuesday to see what the job is that needs to be done and decide if he wants to do it. It's a step forward anyway.

Windy and wet here today, but not too cold at the moment - must be about 13 or 14 C. I was hoping to get my windows washed, but the constant rain in one way helps to wash them and on the other deposits bits of grass and leaves on them to mess them up again so there's little point in getting it done. just have to make do with cleaning the insides - for which I have just bought a long handled brush and squeegee so that I can reach. Might get some of them done today - or might not. We'll see. Another job that needs to be done is shortening the curtains behind my desk. Now that Neil has put in some trunking to take the cables for all the electric bits and pieces, the curtains are too long. I bought two bright green tape measures some time ago so that everyone would know they are mine but they have both disappeared - I suppose into the general tool kit. Without my tape measures, I can't get the length of the curtains right, so I can't do that job and at present the curtains are tied in knots to keep them out of the way. I do have a blind at that window but when, on the odd occasion, we have sun in the morning, it shines directly through that window and the blind isn't heavy enough to stop it blinding me when I sit at my desk. Imagine. Shutting the sun out.

Thank you for sharing the creative which I'm taking as a landscape with a waterfall and possibly two humans on the left. Taking me a while to make anything of the right hand side but definitely a podium finish for you. Hope you stay dry doing the odds and ends.
 
Good Morening Ladies and Gentleman and those who quietly had their own private riot in the safety of their own home. It’s all well to embrace different cultures, but we have our own cultures which should be acknowledged. For example Morris dancing!

Blood sugars this morning were a late evening snack induced 8.8 hey ho.

Today is a new day and new tasks, but Mrs J has other ideas. If I had any sense I would hide in my shed / workshop wearing earplugs.

I spent too long on this for the time I had free to do it. The right side I was lost doing it, I ended up doing some steps, and then nearly at the top of the cliff on that right side is a little house under the overhang.
If I'd had time for another couple cups of tea, then I could have worked that right side differently.
This is one that will be repurposed or cropped, however, I have an idea for some red in it, but that will be another day, another time...

@gennepher i know, but try telling him that! Total waste of breath.
He is making a quiche for dinner atm. Not too strenuous and saves me cooking.
