What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Happy anniversary @dunelm and congratulations on finding a foolproof way to remember the date!

I look forward to your wildlife videos @gennepher and these creative finger paintings really stir the imagination. Thank you for sharing.

Good morning everyone on a deliciously quiet start to the day here in the dark and dangerous north. Thank you for your anniversary wishes yesterday. We had a pleasant day although the climb back up to the car park out of Runswick Bay is like the final push up Kilimanjaro (see picture). And to say that we were supposed to be on a jolly, 6 miles of mainly vertical climbing left me a bit puffed. Still, a very pleasant day out and moules for lunch. Mrs Miggins tells me that we have a strange and wonderful relationship; I’m strange and she’s wonderful! Art bit - not much time yesterday but here is a little ink sketch on a piece of Rizla+ cigarette paper - named by fusing the French word for rice (riz) with the name of the brand creator (Lacroix). Expectations of another smashing day today despite some complaints from back and knees - hope you have similar less the complaints of course. Best make koffy and take some pills.

Morning all from a sub-optimal start to the day here in L.A. It is not quite mid August so I shouldn't need a light in the kitchen at 5.40 - sort it out. Wicket rolling tick, tea round 1 completed, JKP off to click and collect then a day with three grandchildren. I don't have a bucket list beyond doing that for as long as possible. I see it as my mission from God. I just wish this tent had held up better but just how conceited does that sound? Genesis and the psalms make the Ts and Cs crystal clear. The caveats to no bucket list are Trump to be beaten and disappear to nurse his grievances privately on a golf course, and a more suitable dwelling place. I've shared this a few times - mine is here. Specifically a small area (Bluntisham, Colne, St Ives, Old Hurst triangle) not including Huntingdon - is my absolute sweet spot where I feel I am the definitive version of me. Not the Colne linked there, this one. In other news, Ilhan Omar won and my only reaction to the attached is no manure Sherlock. Oh, chicken skin lovingly peeled from a thigh, laid on baking parchment and crisped is peng - JKP, you spoil us Ma'am. Enjoy Wednesday -

Morening all.

6.9 on the meter this morning, I know not why and in the big scheme of things the reading is of no consequence, so roll that in your whatever etc.

Today is my last plinky plonky lesson for a few weeks, medical stuff is scheduled hey ho.

Now I must away to the indoor rain cabinet and sing loudly S & G’s “Sounds of Silence”

Have a great day all remembering this is your last chance at today, smile at strangers, suffer from silent flatulence then look accusingly at whoever is near.

Time to go said Mrs J

8.4 at 03.30. Pills and a cup of tea later it was 8.8. Too high these days. Dreamed of having an argument with the DN. She wouldn't listen to my claim that my BG was high because I had eaten carbs. What a waste of my too few hours of sleep.

At this moment, 79 years ago, I was not yet in this world. By 5 pm I was! Poor world. My Dad used to say that the Japanese heard that I was in the world, they just gave up fighting, throwing their hands up in horror, no doubt. Nothing to do with the bombing of Nagasaki and Hiroshima 8 days before, of course.

Happy Birthday @Annb, never mind those dreamed arguments with know-knowledge-Katy the DN - better to dream of dwelling in marble halls although Lewis Carol had a better idea:
I dreamt I dwelt in marble halls,
And each damp thing that creeps and crawls
went wobble-wobble on the walls...
Hope you have a good birth day.

I'm glad yesterday was pleasant if somewhat strenuous. Moules for lunch is always good. Thank you for sharing the art and photograph. Mrs Miggins seems to have absolutely nailed the relationship dynamic. Meanwhile here in Suffolk I have to profoundly disagree Liz - just own it already.

6.2 this morning .
We had a lovely walk this morning along a maze of footpaths and bridleways.

Then we got lost. Luckily, just at the moment we realised we were lost - right on cue a local (the first person we had seen in the whole 2½ hours we were walking) was able to direct us back to Westleton.

We are now relaxing in our room with the front door open. A lovely breeze is keeping the room cool.

Interesting cigarette paper rock sketch. Nicely detailed @dunelm
