Happy Birthday @Annb8.4 at 03.30. Pills and a cup of tea later it was 8.8. Too high these days. Dreamed of having an argument with the DN. She wouldn't listen to my claim that my BG was high because I had eaten carbs. What a waste of my too few hours of sleep.
At this moment, 79 years ago, I was not yet in this world. By 5 pm I was! Poor world. My Dad used to say that the Japanese heard that I was in the world, they just gave up fighting, throwing their hands up in horror, no doubt. Nothing to do with the bombing of Nagasaki and Hiroshima 8 days before, of course.
Thank you @gennepherInteresting cigarette paper rock sketch. Nicely detailed @dunelm
Great recovery on this super story telling piece.Fbg 6.6
Woke up this morning.
It was cool and misty outside, just like an Autumn morning, so I did my chores while the day was cool, and went to collect some parcels, and do odds and ends.
But suddenly the day turned into a heatwave, too hot to breathe in car despite air con. I had to buy a drink, I'd finished my water bottle. I had click&collect & some other stuff. Next thing I know is it's midday, and I am very tired with the heat.
I unload the stuff from the car into the kitchen, the bungalow had heated up again, I go to the bedroom to open the doors and windows. Sit on the edge of the bed a second. Next thing I know it's 4pm. Oh no, the chilled meats. The maggots had already started breeding. It was meat cut off the bone...Looks like Foxy Loxy is getting an unexpected supper tonight.
Creative...my hand is too heavy handed this end of the day. The Chinese ink pens were bleeding into the paper because I couldn't do a light touch this end of the day, my hands were too heavy, and my mountain on the left got taller and taller as I blacked out my mistakes. Finally I got a biro, drew the person with a black biro, drew the other with the red biro, and the ribbon with the red biro. It worked well enough.
This is the last one in this series ( for the moment). I want to start some thing new....
Nighttime wildlife video.
Badgers & the Fox
45secs
The small birds have eaten all the fatballs, bought some more this morning, now I can refill them.
Stray cats & Midnight sitting at the bedroom door asking for supper....I bought stuff for them as well...
My iPad is overheating again in this heat. It keeps dropping power and the screen going dim until the iPad has cooled down...
And I just want to go to sleep again...but I've got to get that bed linen indoors, it's all dried. But it will take another 2 sessions (days) to finish stripping this bed, I forgot I had put some blankets underneath the bottom sheet to make the mattress more comfy...(I do have a spare set of everything, but once a year, I like to have all bedding on the bed freshly washed, and sun kissed, and wind blown...
App tells me rain all day tomorrow - that should cool the bungalow, but I will have to wait until Friday to hang the last bit of bed washing. App says glorious sun all day Friday, and so my pillows will be sunbathing all day, anywhere I can find spaces on the bushes...
Hope you had a good day...
Take care...

I love the unfiltered and keenly observed world that little children present and the strangely embarrassed reactions of parents.Thank you all for the birthday wishes. You're all so kind.
Had a visit from DIL with Em and DIL's grand daughter. She's 3 and finally getting around to being fairly comfortable in this house. They brought cards and a present, which the little one insisted on unwrapping for me. During the afternoon she asked me what I have on the end of my nose - a scar which I was assured nobody notices. Not that I believed that. She wanted to know why I have a scar on the end of my nose. I didn't want to talk to her about cancer so we made a joke about having a big nose and getting the end cut off to make it smaller. As they were leaving she came to give me a cuddle but then said "You're very fat". DIL scolded her for being cheeky, but she was right enough and I had a good laugh. Out of the mouths of babes ....
A beautiful little scene @dunelmGood morning everyone on a wonderfully cooler start to the day here in the dark and dangerous north. A day of professional feet upping and reading yesterday although we did provide supper for a friend who is home alone for a couple of weeks. Good to see him. He has recently been diagnosed as T2 and of course is now annoying his family (and probably the local ‘specialist’ diabetic nurse) with frantic research and refusing to eat anything white. We are off on a train ride to York for the day today. Probably a blooming, buzzing confusion of William James tourists so we are heading straight for the wall and a wander round that - it is usually fairly quiet - no ye olde shope to shamble round or McD type places to entice the unwary family. Art bit - playing with masking fluid spattering. May your day be pleasantly cool and your pains confined to a dark corner. I best make some koffy and then wake up Mrs Miggins with a mug of tea.
Yes @alf_Josiah I find that life, the Universe, and everything else gets in the way as an obstacle course in stuff I really want to do...I never noticed it this bad in previous years, but now...I would like to say Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen, so eye did.
Blood sugars this morning were a straight 6.
Question
Have you noticed life, the universe and everything gets in the way of what you really want to do?
Must go now, trying not be a Moody Blues grumpy old man.
Stay safe all and best cancel your visit to the space station.
Hugs aplenty, but as you so often do you conquer these obstacles.Yes @alf_Josiah I find that life, the Universe, and everything else gets in the way as an obstacle course in stuff I really want to do...I never noticed it this bad in previous years, but now...
Thank you Ian.Morning all from a sunny intervals and fresh breeze style of day in L.A. My wheelhouse that ain't but them's the breaks. Two grandchildren here today who have brought these with them, should be fun for them. Christmas presents from Nanny London so she'll enjoy seeing them on. @dunelm thank you for sharing the detailed and colourful art which struck me as a splendid Christmas decoration but that’s just me: enjoy York. @gennepher thank you for sharing yesterday's creative despite the "issues." This obviously resonated with me - timely reminder that we still live in between Eden and The Kingdom despite all the hype of Tech Bros - some of whom struggle with making a livestream work. @Annb - the little one was obviously referencing this - clever girl. Alf Josiah there’s really only one song for you. Eclectic post which needs an and finally so here goes. I surely couldn’t be better located for the basic ingredient of this - not yet stocked by Waitrose. Enjoy Thursday.
Thanks AlfHugs aplenty, but as you so often do you conquer these obstacles.
Jousting 101. Obviously adapted from David and Goliath. Throw it over the opponent's Stechhelm to blind them. A historically well known method known as Ye Olde Angeball manoeuvre. Only too happy to help ya@ianpspurs
What use is white satin on a jousting field?
