Good to read that Mrs J is recovering nicely and all the very best with your medical treatment. Grandchildren - marvellous.Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen.
Blood sugars this morning were Welsh cake inspired 8.6 and secondly 8.9 ho hum. I did enjoy those cakes a rare treat.
I wrote a couple of months ago that my posting on this thread would be a trifle irregular for various reasons then Mrs J broke her wrist and me, me’s and myself became her dogsbody and someone to shout demands and instructions at, thankfully Mrs J is recovering nicely and her general irritability I have learned to live with by not listening and if I do listen immediately forgetting what was said.
Well, unfortunately I have to undergo a course of medical treatment starting tomorrow Monday 19th that will last 20 working days and make me very tired and grumpy. Mrs J will say no change there.
I shall attempt to read the posts on this thread. I believe this called lurking.
Now it is time for me, me’s and myself to sign out and prepare for the imminent onslaught of the grandchildren. It is the grandparents duty to set an example for the grandchildren, not necessarily an approved by their parents example.
Stay safe all.
That sounds a good investment @AnnbHighish BG again at 05.00 today. 9.3. Have to do some work on that today.
Unusually my cleaner is going to come today. She's quite happy to be working on Sunday as long as I am alright with it. I'm not a strict Sabbatarian so it's OK by me. It's the only day she can manage this week so, if it is to be done, today it has to be. This will be the first time she has been here in months because she went off sick, and then our house was in disaster mode and anything more than cleaning tiny spots was impossible. We can actually see some of the floors now and things can be moved to clean around the place. It really needs to be done.
The odd-job man came and did the work in the loft yesterday so we can start to look at getting back to what used to be normal. He charged less than I expected, so I was happy. I can't get into the loft to see what he has done but Neil seems happy enough. Not that Neil can get into the loft to do anything just yet - there are still too many particles in the atmosphere. He is buying a proper serious mask with an air filtration system (2nd hand - about £200 worth) so that he can get on with putting everything back together up there.
Tent looks cool!Good morning everyone from a wonderfully silent start to the day here in the dark and dangerous north. 4.9 this a.m., was it the avocado and feta salad drenched in olive oil last night? Who knows. Conversation with youngest son last night: he dug out some tents to check them out for some wild camping next weekend - the one he chose and then gave a service to (waterproofing and a couple of new guy ropes) was my old monopole Fjallraven that I bought in 1974/5. (Picture below) It took me to Germany, Austria, Italy, Norway, many parts of the UK and is still in good working order. He says the smell of it brought back childhood memories of camping above the snow line with dad. I can’t remember how much I paid for it but a replacement is in the £6-800 bracket - so, good to know that it is still in use 50 years on. Talking of Norway, we are going there on Wednesday, a cruise round the fjords and another trip up the Flam railway. Mrs Miggins has been packed for over a week. I will do mine on Tuesday although the great gathering together of items has already begun. Art bit - more runny than a ripe Brie. Have your best day. I shall do the ceremony of the cafetière and see how the day unfolds.
Hugs Alf for the treatment.Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen.

Mr K raises the bar for all males of the species once more. He's the Mondo Duplantis of husbands and all we can do is trail in his wake and applaud. No out of stock sign in Newmarket so JKP made me buy 4 bottles despite my protestations. She said it was rude not to and I never argue with my driver.5.8 this morning.
@ianpspurs Aldi does still have stocks of that EVO left today but they have just put an out of stock sticker on the shelf - so we have just bought 2 more bottles.
Very interesting that it seems to be more effective at lowering inflammation in my body than the normal EVO. The pain and swelling in my finger joints has just disappeared in the few days I have been taking it - which is why Mr K thought it important to dash to Aldi to get more of it today in case of shortages.
Thank you @ianpspurs. When I taught aspects of mountaineering I told my students to spend their money on five things; coat, boots, tent, sleeping bag, rucksack - everything else is just other stuff. I thought that that Laura had a letter ‘t’ in her surname name somewhere?Morning all on the 12th Sunday after Trinity. Time to think about ordering that Turkey - how else will y'all be able to make Tim Walz's signature dish post November 28th? Hopefully he'll have been voted as the next Veep by then if only because sense will prevail on Nov 5th even if NABAT is the cause . @JohnEGreen great fbg and lovely story of the Norwegian greeting. @dunelm good fbg whether the meal was implicated or not no one will ever really know. Thank you for sharing the art. That tent was obviously a sound investment. Buy well, buy once. @Annb a mixed start to your day but good news on the handyman and cleaner. @alf_Josiah I hope the treatment goes well and you have a great day with those grandchildren. Why isn't Laura Kuenssberg asking the burning question of the day: do Aldi have any of that EVO left after the sudden surge in demand caused by members of this forum? Enjoy your Sunday.
Thank you so much @gennepherTent looks cool!
Love your trees again @dunelm Very much!
Smashing kaleidoscope. Like a giant purple flower with several cats peering between the petals.Fbg 6.8
