What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Good morning everyone on a wonderfully quiet start to the day here in the dark and dangerous north. 4.9 again this a.m. I woke with a fleeting thought about a suitcase. I must expunge all such thoughts - tomorrow will be time enough. Mrs Miggins will be collection our boarding cards and such like today. I will be dashing up to Aldi to try and cause some panic buying of olive oil, if there is any left . Art bit - do trees ever look blue? They do now. Have a jolly good day if you can. My left shoulder and elbow are conspiring to ruin mine so I shall stink out the supermarket with oil of wintergreen. First, some Koffy.

Morning all from a quiet, 14C start to Monday in L.A. TCFS start to the week, far too autumnal. Pitch rolled and #1 mug of tea gradually being ingested in the laynj, the pace of modern life is brutal. @dunelm hug for the aches and pains - wintergreen? Reminds me of village sport when I was salad green. All those who still dared to dream slathering themselves in that and warming up with several full strength cigarettes before wheezing their way onto the pitch. Thank you for sharing the art, enjoy the trip but give #AldiEVOOgate a miss until after this year's harvest just to protect those joints. @Annb hug for the issues but fascinating research. Of course it is all provisional theorising but still fascinating. I hope your bg settles. Despite watching so much sport and reading the online Guardian and New York Times I did manage over 4k steps dodging the sun: 'An ill-favoured thing sir, but mine own' The lox and bagel yesterday were inspired by these monsters JKP had had delivered staring at me. My evening meal was duck breast salad (Aldi EVO in the vinaigrette) which was both pleasing to the eye and most satisfactory to the taste. Zoe 30+ daily topping added to the look and taste. Today I may have afternoon tea since I discovered some Keto scones lurking in a freezer and some clotted cream lounging in a fridge. Elsie Keto never tasted so good , so good. Enjoy your Monday.

Good to hear that the Aldi EVO with the vinaigrette was most satisfactory. The keto scones and clotted cream sound as though they may be rather delicious.
 
@Krystyna23040 the scones are indeed spiffing with clotted cream. I tried some Elsie jam with them last year but the aftertaste spoiled things. Staying on food, our cousins across the pond seem to think we've only just discovered this

I'm just about to scrape and scoop around the bottom of the latest kg tub so where have the rest of y'all been? Take it easy again today.

6.0 this morning.

After the early morning walk in the park with Poppy we made another trip to our local Aldi and bought the very last bottles of their PDO EVO on their shelves.

Felt a bit guilty at leaving the shelf empty as I was depriving other customers but not so guilty that it stopped me doing it.

Am relaxing with a coffee - a Joni Mitchell CD on in the background. A perfect Monday morning. I will actually do some work today - but not just yet.

The mention of our American cousins made me smile as of the 17000 odd DNA matches I got on Ancestry the majority seem to be in America it would appear that I have more relatives across the pond than here.
Oh and I have been making my own peanut butter for several years so I don’t know where they got that idea from.
 
Yes, the aftertaste of sweeteners is disgusting.
Good that the scones were much better without Elsie jam.

I do love crunchy peanut butter. It is amazing how something so healthy can be so delicious.

Winner would be purely for listening to Joni Mitchell without anything else. Yes, crunchy PB is the only way but it is very moreish. Fortunately, I have another kg tub (and some Jarlsberg) to help me follow the instructions on my medication. Steroids seem to make me hungry and I really don't need to weigh 74 kgs. I'm less convinced by the day that anyone actually has the faintest idea what is healthy whilst signing up for a Zoe Daily 30+ subscription. Acute cognitive dissonance here.

Thank you @ianpspurs and oh too late, but never mind. Three bottles grabbed in a frenzy of nothingness - two whole boxes on the shelves and no one else remotely interested as they headed for the pies and instant meals.
 
And I thought that the British invented peanut butter around the time when we invented gravity, swimming and historical facts.

Good point well made Ma'am. This is brilliant and what I’m feeling Kamala Harris inching towards saying to rebut the foul Musk flavo(u)red Trumpism. To some extent Tim Walz has already been saying these things. Let’s hope someone at the DNC let’s rip at the rank hypocrisy and mendacity. Has to be done in the USA because for all the nonsense before, during and since THAT referendum Britain isn’t a major player anymore. Grate - as in an unpleasant rasping sound.is far more apposite.

The Bag of Secrets is book six in a series on kindle. Because I subscribe to kindle unlimited I can read for free.
