What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Very fraught and hectic @SlimLizzy
Take some time out for you...

BG too high. 13.4 at 03.00 today. Still around 11 despite insulin and breakfast. We'll see how it goes.

I've decided to get a new mattress - the bed I have is about 5 years old and in those 5 years I've bought 3 different mattress toppers to try to make it more comfortable. With what I've spent on them, I would have been better just buying a new, half decent mattress anyway. So I'm giving up on it and Neil will take me to the one shop in Stornoway that sells mattresses on Thursday to find a better one. The 5 year old one will have to be taken to the dump, but I think Neil will get it into the back of the car. Maybe with a better mattress I'll sleep better and for longer.

Hopefully a new mattress will prove to be a sound investment.

Don't be fooled into buying memory foam. After a surprisingly short time they develop dips and it's difficult to move out of them

Fell into that trap in the past. Even worse, Neil bought one online which came rolled up tightly. The maker suggested opening it up and leaving it for 24 hours to settle. The fumes coming off of it were so bad that Neil's weak chest couldn't cope so we shut it into the front room for 8 weeks before he felt he could use it. Never again.

I've seen Dormeo ones advertised which seem to be some kind of silicone or rubber "springs" but need to actually see and test whatever I buy this time.

I'm so glad you are 'getting there ' (ish).
But I feel the despair of the pain and the limitations that have beset you.
The trials and tribulations of recuperation.
Then, there is the anxiety that it will never get better, regardless of what you do.
The depression of feeling down, as a cherry on top.
you feel awful, double over thinking the pain and your resilient attitude is tested to the core.
Who to turn to?
Can you find someone to help and understand, without you being uncomfortable with asking for that help when it seems impossible? When your usual methods are uncooperative?

So you see, you are not alone with your circumstances.

I encourage talking, being proactive, doing what you can, but not overdoing anything especially the mental acrobatics that get you down and feeling awful.

Facing life is hard, having an obstacle such as you describe, can be harder, but, like me, I have learned that there is light at the end of the tunnel, and those hurdles do get easier and things do improve. It might make quite a bit of time and there are always setbacks, but as in footie speak. It is, what it is!
Bouncebackability, is what it is when you mean that you are determined to improve your next day or circumstances.
Tomorrow is always going to be a better day, even if it isnt.
But the day after has to be.

A lot of this is known to you.
I believe that I could be repeating, a common theme, that you have alluded to my situation.

So be positive.

And keep posting.

My best wishes mate. Keep updating us.

stunning monochrome.

6.7 yay! twice, different digits, yay!

Playing with #7 & #8 last day of freedom for #7.
School uniform fitting tonight.
Photos should be incoming in the morning.

Mrs L has been taking it easy and accused of hiding away from the noise and carnage of the loving angels abound in the back garden and the footie pitches, playing ever so nicely........
Mrs L still demanded hugs and missed as usual. And saving taraa, as their dad have farewell to leave me with the detritus of the visit.
I'm knackered and ready and able for kitchen duties.

Have a lovely evening.
My best wishes to you lot as always. Take care.
Watch out for that school run!

A dramatic Kaleidoscope @gennepher Thank you for sharing.
No further crepuscular activity to report, but there were brief fox sightings on four consecutive mornings just before 8.00 am.

Tuesday's FBG 4.6 mmol/L on waking at 6.00 am.

Fbg 6.9

Creative...wasn't happy with the Kaleider ones I did. So photographed a painting of a cottage garden from a book I was looking at of 'idyllic' 1800 paintings. And put through Kaleider. I got some very pretty ones, but I preferred the bolder ones.

You have a good day...the best you can make it...

I have to watch out for the postie this morning, the packet might be too big for the letter box....he never rings the doorbell...and I have a flashing light in each room so I cannot miss the doorbell, but no one ever rings, they quietly knock...which is no use to me...

The original painting the above was from...

These work really well and give some very pleasing patterns. I think that I would have a notice on the door about not timidly knocking but to use the bell in order to be “heard”.

Good morning everyone on a dull but improving start to the day here in French Froggy France. A flat rated 5.0 this a.m. This internet connection is about as much use as a chocolate fire guard. It’s shopping day today. Mum goes on her red dalek scooter to the supermarket and her care assistant, who comes twice a week, helps with the shopping. Later, my niece is coming up from Bordeaux and will stay stay for a day or so. I can feel the call of my parent’s favourite restaurant calling for tomorrow lunch time. Art bit - just a quick sketch of a fed up tree. Hope your day contains some good bits. I shall make koffy and watch the sun breaking up the gloom.

Thank you very much for the Kaleider compliment.

There is already a notice on the door "Please ring doorbell" There is even an arrow on my notice pointing to exactly where doorbell is. It is black on a white doorframe. I don't think people even have one brain cell nowadays...

You think I ought to expand on it?
Okay...

Poor tree, bowing under the weight of life...
Have a great day @dunelm

I think big letters - DO NOT KNOCK - USE THE BELL.
Mind you, you may need a Heath Robinson type contraption that smacks their hand each time that they try and knock.
