And in mine, there swarms of em in the garden and footie pitches. You need to keep your mouth closed when in the garden @Lamont D
You have to in my garden otherwise the clouds of flying midges will enter...flying up nostrils is their next bit of fun...
Oh I don't know @gennepher, it looks as though you had some fun with those kaleider kaleidoscopes and revealing your source material introduces another dimension. It's extraordinary the contrasting patterns that emerge from the same photos!I realise those Kaleider kaleidoscopes may not be everyone's cup of tea, but I so enjoy doing them...
Yes, it's thought that a female bird can survive for up to 6 days afterwards without food!Poor wood pigeons, but I expect they make a good meal for the Sparrowhawk @LivingLightly

Nighttime wildlife video
This is mostly Boy Badger, born last year, and he visits my garden nightly, sometimes with his parents. And Foxy Loxy always visits at the same time as Boy Badger (and his parents)...

Creative...I used a previous kaleidoscope, that I liked, which was red, but it came out predominantly yellow in Kaleider, which I rather liked as it is a sunny day.
Birds need feeding.
Have a good day...

Thursday's FBG 4.6 mmol/L on waking at 6.00 am.
Agree with this. Have had two really horrendous drives in UK. Motorway traffic, bad weather and hours of delays.A hug for what sounds an horrendous journey @gennepher
It might not seem it, but I'd suspect all the extra tension on our muscles, when driving, in such conditions.
That constant 360° monitoring for danger through a distorted field of vision, tightens up each muscle like a mini gym class, no wonder you felt so tired .
But a win for the deep sleep helping you recover so speedily .
Here's to a relaxing rest of the night .
That is interesting @LivingLightlyYes, it's thought that a female bird can survive for up to 6 days afterwards without food!
Of course male sparrowhawks being smaller in size prey on correspondingly smaller birds; in our neighbourhood chiefly starlings and blackbirds. They can be expected to hunt again within 3 days.

Have a great day with your mum hunting for wool and silk threads.Good morning everyone on yet another all things bright and beautiful start the the day here in the dark and dangerous north. 5.3 this a.m. Dinner out with my brother and his partner last night. They will be calling round for koffy in a while and then heading for home. Mum and I are then going out so that she can buy some wool and silk thread. She is on with a silk and cotton crochet bag for a cousin of mine and then wants to crochet a round the neck pouch for her mobile phone (that she always forgets to both charge and to take with her when going out). She has an alarm button round her neck but try and convince her that a mobile phone is a handy tool when help is needed! Art bit, ink splodges. Hope your day moves smoothly on, best make mum her morning lemon and honey drink.
Thank you @ianpspurs - still in France with my mum - returning to UK on MondayMorning all on a dull start to Super Salmon Salad day here in L.A. Libre 2+ here @JohnEGreen and it would have me believe my fbg was 4.7 which is as likely as many another random number I may have been proffered. @dunelm thank you for sharing today's splendid example of your artistic skills. Your post suggests you are back in England - have I misunderstood? #1 son finally had confirmation that he has passed his MSc with distinction yesterday and his son, #1 grandchild, cut our lawns. As he was doing the front ones (I was watching) a man from a house opposite said if he wanted to earn more money he could weed an area of his driveway. He worked hard on that, with some help and tips from me, which made me feel blessed to see and share that. He called in on his way to school just now to see if the man had paid up, which he hadn't. I felt bad for that but as I don't carry cash - haven't for years - I couldn't pay what I think it was worthAnyhow, I hope there are better moments today for him, me and you all.
The traffic has become horrendously bad on expressways and motorways, with more queues and traffic works than I have ever seen before. I am so glad I do not have to drive to work and I'm so glad I am not one of those lorry drivers or container drivers that have to keep the tight schedules which they just cannot do. Once they reach the open road they speed, and the way some of those loads are anchored or tied on (looks inadequate to me) the load looks incredibly unstable from the back, and I just want to get the heck off that road.Agree with this. Have had two really horrendous drives in UK. Motorway traffic, bad weather and hours of delays.
Shoulders hands and one knee are aching, eyes gritty too. Altogether a very unpleasant experience and a collosial waste of time.
Have planned shopping trip for Saturday. Sunday is almost always at home anyway, so I can bask in the righteous glow of having participated in World Car Free day.On driving, a note for anyone visiting Mordor, as @alf_Josiah calls it ...lol
(Headline says weekend, but details say Sunday....mmm )

How terrible that such a young life has been lost in this dreadful way. My heartfelt sympathies to his family who must be devastated by this tragedy.A couple of days ago we had a convoy of a couple of hundred motorcycles pass our house today it was a few hundred cars all this was in memory and as a tribute for a young lad from our area called Riley 12 years old who tragically took his own life last week such a show of support for his family was quite moving.
