What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen.

Blood sugars this morning were 5.4

A question for the edumakated amongst our posters in the use of written english.
If you finish a sentence with a number are you still supposed to use a full stop?

Give me quantum mechanics and plasma physics any day, rather than written engrish.

Have a nice day and stay safe.

A suggestion: never use numbers if at all possible and unless you are coding weapons (especially nuclear) or flight control systems (or similar) punctuation marks matter little. Covfefe.

Yes. Unless it is part of a question, or an exclamation. Then the appropriate punctuation mark applies. Of course, the ? and the ! have a full stop as part of their construction anyway. The real difficulty comes when you are also using brackets or quotation marks. That's where people start to go wrong. Where do you put the full stop (before the other punctuation/after/instead of?) I was treated to a lecture from Neil (who is a wizard in these kind of issues) about the origins of punctuation, the development and current usage, lasting about an hour. I had actually only asked a simple question. Very interesting it was though. It's just that Neil doesn't know when enough is enough. A little knowledge is never enough for (massive IQ) him and he assumes the same level of intelligence in me. Very flattering, but I don't quite meet the standard these days.

@ianpspurs .

Such an odd quirky little song by Paul Simons .

Just doesn't seem to 'fit' to me.

But I can see why people might like it, though .

Cheers for pointing me to it
I think I really like the African/jazz vibe and riffs plus it showcases his voice. All opinions but music does soothe the troubled brow - when it isn't starting wars . O/T do you/does anyone else remember Gerald Harper's Sunday affair on Capital Radio? Epitome of easy like a Sunday morning.

Love Paul Simon. Even better with Art Garfunkel. "Diamonds" though, is my least favourite of all. Nothing wrong with it, just not for me.

Thank you @LivingLightly

It is a beautiful autumn painting. I like it very much @dunelm

My all time favourite song by these is “Ridge over bubbled water “ or sumthin’ like that.

That song is off his highly rated album, which gradually if I remember, was a slow burner until the media got it's paws into it. Having a South African theme etc. The press were reluctant to give it a proper place in really good music. As for the beeb...............!!!!!!!
I took meds, and it made me worse. Followed medical advice, it was killing me.... Literally!
took Mrs L 's advice, which saved my life.
then realised, not being paranoid, everyone was out to get me!
Enjoy that peanut butter(yuk, not for me!)
Got pork chops for my meal after the footie.
I'm thinking of stringing white lights with intermittent colours strung through branches and fencing. Nowt fancy but you may need shares whilst driving past our house.
Allegedly, there is a house about a mile away has already adorned their house-cum-grotto for Chrimbo.

Right back at ya - enjoy the pork chop, yuk not for me but you do you. I started watching Villa Man U but lost the will to carry on. Currently watching the 2024 Purple People Eaters munching Aaron Rodgers at TH Stadium. More £s for Daniel

I'm lost with all these posts...

No Fbg...why? I forgot to take it...

Badger & a Cat & ...
...the 3 legged young badger again. He seems healthy and able to cope and eat and drink. I will keep an eye out for him this winter in case he may need help from me or another person...
57 secs

Creative...half finished...only the colour using Brusho pigments on a scrap of rag paper...they blend nicely I think.
But in looking through 'The Mustard Garden' for inspiration for different formations of trees, I found another brilliant ancient Chinese text on Chinese paintings (already translated to English!!!) ....got up to nearly Page 400, when my eyes decided to have a nap...I woke up to find it returned to the Internet Archive because of inactivity....sigh...
I have to find it again...another 200 pages to go...
So you get just the colours...today...

I have been immersed in Ancestry DNA, and My Heritage DNA, and 23&Me DNA, and my poor little head is more confused than ever before...
Talked with one person by chat related me by 5% DNA, via chat... but the results don't make sense...
Daughter from Australia and I could at least ascertain that she is my daughter and I am her mother sharing 50% of DNA.... as for anything else... it's seems a bit of a murky melting pot...
I have read a few books on DNA today, and I need to try to read them again.

I think I might be ready for a nap....

More than anything else I fancy a traditional Victoria sponge with buttercream and raspberry jam (I have not eaten traditional cake since I was diagnosed with diabetes approaching 8 years ago)... I could eat a whole cake. But alas I have nothing sweet in the cupboard..... except some old icing sugar....

There might be some ice lollies in the freezer, do you think that will satisfy me?

Have a good rest of the day...

Absolutely blinking ridiculous @Annb

Your lot doing well at mid term break. Despite his toe being offside.
You have to ask Levy a question, How does he spend that much?
I know I couldn't.
You would think that your lot are winning lots of trophies, wouldn't you, for that much?
