Just when you get cozy with food items, they stick a pin in your bubble. Doctor trying to take blood - oh dearBack from my GP appointment. It was just the student GP with no supervising GP. I got most of the information I was looking for. Mostly, there's nothing to be done, just keep an eye on it - that's my eyes and my general low level of health which they think is a mitochondrial disorder. Makes sense but since there's nothing to be done, I just have to get on with it. The doctor tried to get some blood for a blood test to make a start on confirming that, but failed - no blood forthcoming. She's going to ask the nurse to try again on Thursday.
What I would have thought they would have mentioned to me before this was the result of kidney function test. I have CKD with a falling EGFR, high potassium and low sodium. There have been issues in the past with my kidneys, but I thought that was all sorted out a while ago. Apparently not. No advice on that but I guess I will have to reduce foods high in potassium; things like spinach, avocado, nuts, salmon, beans, tomatoes, which are pretty well staples for me and replace them with things like broccoli, carrots, kale, cabbage, cucumber, courgettes. Most of them far from my favourites. Asparagus, of course, which I wouldn't touch with a barge-pole. Have to start working out exactly which are the best foods for me again now. My new favourite - chickpea "rice" seems suspect as well and I just received 5 packets of it from Amazon. Same with the lc crackers I have started using - they are made from split peas.
Oh woe is me!
More woe - the supermarket refrigerators were out of action today and Neil couldn't get any meat for me - or fish. What to do about the Mediterranean vegetables I was going to cook under this new regime - no tomatoes is a problem with that. Where's my thinking cap?
Oh, Shirley you just have to go.
Beautifully drawn trees...Good morning everyone from a damp squib of a start to the day here in the dark and dangerous north. The rain is due to cease in about an hour so we are going to catch the bus to Whitby and have a wander round. Might even tackle the 199 steps up to St Mary’s Church if we feel energetic. Are the small and discretely placed counters every 10 steps really there for encouragement or just for torture? Sometimes I wish that I didn’t know that they were there - but once seen… Anyhow, take your views round to Arguments Yard. Art bit - wet on wet. Hope your day includes you in it. I shall drink my koffy and ponder as what to do with the cauliflower that I bought yesterday.
Thank you @gennepherBeautifully drawn trees...
Interesting history @dunelm
I don't allow canoodling by anyone, let alone spiders, in my house. I can't any more, so no-one can.Afraid it's that time of year @Annb when male house spiders leave their webs to go in search of a girlfriend.
Thankfully, help was at hand and you were finally able to get to bed.
Monday's FBG, 4.3 mmol/l on waking at 6.00 am.
Thank you for sharing an atmospheric autumnal scene @dunelm.Good morning everyone on a bright and sunny start to the day here in the dark and dangerous north. 5.1 this a.m. Not really caught up - a bit preoccupied. Off out for a walk into town in a while to clear my head. Art bit, a few autumnal colours. Hope the sun shines for you today - enjoy its warmth as you sunbath if it does. Koffy finished, best get moving.
Dear me @gennepher what a headache! Thank you for taking the trouble, despite everything, to share this lovely artwork.Fbg 8.6
No, it is nothing I've eaten...
I have a disaster here, at least a disaster for me. My iPad mini which is a device I use for everything and has got the videos stored on it ready to post (Work I did yesterday) and work for my everything including my bank account etc , and all my photographs and pictures of Midnight and both my hearing dogs, which I had had on that iPad mini, the other photographs and videos and stuff which I was desperately trying to save from my other iPad Pro which packed in are all different to the ones that were on the this current iPad mini, and various projects which I had partially backed up because I was in the process of doing them, the screen froze and wouldn't let me in, then it froze and wouldn't let me put in my password number.
The last the last eight hours have been working on this iPad mini to try to find out when I last backed it up which was a couple of days ago. But the last couple of days I've been doing a lot of work which will obviously not have been backed up yet.
And I had been working on backing up some of the photographs and videos that were important for me but I hadn't finished that yet ...
There was no indication this was going to happen.
I have spent the last few hours trying everything with Apple and any suggestions and googling and there was nothing I could do myself the resolve this.
So an hour ago I made the decision to erase the IPad 2. Well, that was a faff to find out how to do... And none of the words or the icons were where apple said they were so I had to do a lot of guesswork to find out the erase button then there was a whole pile of code number for me, before I could do it.Aagghh..
Well my iPad mini is erased now, and then taking a break for a couple of hours and then see if I can reinstall it from the cloud, or if I have to start all over again with it...
There was a whole pile of things that were running from it, for example of my central heating and unless I can get the app for the central heating running again I can't run the central heating from the thermostat thingy on the wall....
I tried accessing my bank account from another device because I only had it up and running on the iPad mini. And it did not want to let me in my bank. Said my password etc etc I was putting in was wrong. It's all written carefully in a special place. I will try again later with that, it wanted me to telephone them using a voice call on a proper telephone which I cannot do with being deaf... And then when I could not respond to that the bank asked me to press this first button here and in oh five to ten days they will give me a password which I will be able to access my bank but that was coming by post. So I pressed this button and then the page crashed, so I don't think even that will be happening and I haven't got a clue how to proceed at this point.
I think a mid morning sherry, even though it is nearly midday is appropriate at this point...
Creative is a painting I did awhile ago...
Have a happy day, I am going outside for a bit..

Tuesday's FBG, 4.4 mmol/l on waking at 6.00 am.
All the best with the tech stuff - and thanks for the smashing art work.Fbg 7.1 an aeon ago...
My internet connection went on a go slow today. I am trying to download the apps on to my iPad Mini. Which I thought should have been done, when the iPad was reinstalled through the backup from the Apple cloud.
I was grumbling to a friend today who has nothing but Apple and Macs, and stuff and she said she had the same problem the last time she reinstalled a device from the backup.
I am still nowhere near finishing re-setting up that iPad Mini. It is my main everything device so I needed all done as soon as possible. My online banking still insists that my password and extra security password is incorrect. It most definitely is not. A couple of bills came in today by post which I need my online banking to pay for and I can't get in on it.
There are quite a few apps which I paid some money for and I can't get in on them. To try and get in on the other apps I've got to jump through security hoops, 4 or 6 letter codes delivered to my phone and then I've got to put them in the app to see if I can get the app running. This is driving me totally demented.
I have completely run out of steam...
This is at least doing take me another couple of days. In the meantime here is a painting of some flowers I did about a few years ago...
I think today is nearly over so I wish you a happy tomorrow,..

my pleasure @LivingLightlyThank you for sharing an atmospheric autumnal scene @dunelm.
I mainly open the door and look up at the sky - or consult a pine cone or look at the weather stone to see if it’s wet.5.6 this morning.
Today is my day for staying in my local area - so no trips to Norwich.
Who do I believe - Met Office or BBC weather.
If Met Office is right Poppy will get her walk behind Beetley Village Hall before I start classes. However, BBC weather says no - it will be too wet for a walk.
Thank you very much @dunelmAll the best with the tech stuff - and thanks for the smashing art work.
Coffee is amazing to paint with... brilliant art bit @dunelmGood morning everyone on a decidedly wet and dreary start to a wet and dreary day here in the dark and dangerous north. Smashing day in Whitby yesterday albeit a bit overcast. Got kippers from Fortunes Smokehouse, I shall have one today with scrambled eggs and another tomorrow - Mrs Miggins is not keen. On the bus home Mrs Miggins mentioned that she and her sister are going over to Scarborough today to see our niece’s new born and did I want to go as well? As my brain began to freeze over trying to decipher such a strange grouping of words, I manage, before zero kelvin was reached, to break the spell and say “no”. Art bit - Chinese ink and Koffy - strange but true. May your body stay warm and your fuel bills be low. I better finish my koffy and Make Mrs Miggins a mug of tea.
Can imagine the whispers in the waiting room if you did go...Oh, Shirley you just have to go.
