What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Your lot doing well at mid term break. Despite his toe being offside.
You have to ask Levy a question, How does he spend that much?
I know I couldn't.
You would think that your lot are winning lots of trophies, wouldn't you, for that much?
Ange texted me on 58 mins. Told ya mate, b***** Galahs the lot of them - the one after 66 mins is unrepeatable here. That collapse is why he will go sooner rather than later. Mr Levy said can you invest or spend trophies? No? Thought not. Vivienne Lewis Silverton is the ultimate big boss these days. Hope you enjoyed the pork chop.

The old saying, a game of two halves.
pork chop was succulent, fresh from the butchers.
it does seem these days as if, at the level your lot are playing, then being in euro, is the success your owners are happy with. And why not?
not everyone can be champions.
The cups are no more than a diversion to appease supporters.
at my lots level, it does seem that avoiding relegation is first and priority. And success is getting to the play offs.
not winning tho.
getting televised cup games v big clubs like your lot. As we did, must be six or seven seasons ago. And you give us a good hiding.I tried to get Kane's shirt but the kit guys weren't playing.
The funniest thing was the tactics guys on your staff, rolling a very large cabinet into the changing room and very quickly coming out again. No electrical power supply for what they wanted, and no room. It was a 70 inch tele screen. Our changes are not the biggest of designed for the huge staff and players that are part of a premier squad. Met a few names of course, but nowt I hadn't talked to at that level.

You can get used to losing, you know!
It is part of the game. Ha!

Isn't he adorable the ratbag!

Gotta go Mrs L needs something.

My bestest wishes to you lot as always.
Happy 3rd birthday #8. Hope he has a great day (and Grandad has fun too).

I'm lost with all these posts...

No Fbg...why? I forgot to take it...

Badger & a Cat & ...
...the 3 legged young badger again. He seems healthy and able to cope and eat and drink. I will keep an eye out for him this winter in case he may need help from me or another person...
57 secs

Creative...half finished...only the colour using Brusho pigments on a scrap of rag paper...they blend nicely I think.
But in looking through 'The Mustard Garden' for inspiration for different formations of trees, I found another brilliant ancient Chinese text on Chinese paintings (already translated to English!!!) ....got up to nearly Page 400, when my eyes decided to have a nap...I woke up to find it returned to the Internet Archive because of inactivity....sigh...
I have to find it again...another 200 pages to go...
So you get just the colours...today...

I have been immersed in Ancestry DNA, and My Heritage DNA, and 23&Me DNA, and my poor little head is more confused than ever before...
Talked with one person by chat related me by 5% DNA, via chat... but the results don't make sense...
Daughter from Australia and I could at least ascertain that she is my daughter and I am her mother sharing 50% of DNA.... as for anything else... it's seems a bit of a murky melting pot...
I have read a few books on DNA today, and I need to try to read them again.

I think I might be ready for a nap....

More than anything else I fancy a traditional Victoria sponge with buttercream and raspberry jam (I have not eaten traditional cake since I was diagnosed with diabetes approaching 8 years ago)... I could eat a whole cake. But alas I have nothing sweet in the cupboard..... except some old icing sugar....

There might be some ice lollies in the freezer, do you think that will satisfy me?

Have a good rest of the day...

Could almost eat that creative. Looks delicious.

I mentioned The Ark, before.
It has been chucking it down since mid afternoon.
And it don't look like stopping.
And more on the way thanks to Kenneth.
Happy Birthday #8

I was asleep, but hernia and heartburn, and a cat (Midnight) leaping on my hernia woke me up...

Never found anything sweet earlier....

Cat has returned, erroneously thinks he is forgiven...I am guarding my hernia with a pillow...

Sucking a clementine now...that usually sorts out the heartburn...

And a hot cuppa from my flask tea....

Probably fall asleep at the iPad again...

Someone told me of some software called Gramps to help with DNA investigations...but you can only use it on a laptop....not on an iPad....oh, some enterprising soul has come up with a way of downloading Linux on to your iPad, but you must have the supporting software...and then you can run the Gramps software...or you can become a host and run it from the web. And all this is free. There is another option to use a hub, but that costs monthly, otherwise it is all free...
Apparently as early as 2013 and iOS 5.1 you could run the software using Linux...really,,,would I be able to get it on an old iPad? Reading further...

My head is sorry I woke up....

Sweet dreams to all those asleep....

I can't go to bed tonight. I went through to my bedroom at 23.45 to get ready for bed, but there was a fairly big spider ensconced in a corner of my ceiling. I cannot share my bedroom with a spider and it was in a position where I couldn't reach it with the spider catcher. So I have relinquished my room to the spider. Came back through to the kitchen but can't get to sleep now. That's why I'm here, sharing my thoughts with you guys.

My thoughts: why am I so scared of spiders? No idea. I know I shouldn't be. I know that there are no dangerous spiders in this country - even "pet" tarantulas aren't really dangerous unless you are allergic to them. As my mother used to say, "They are more scared of you than you are of them." Wrong! Maybe they have more reason to be scared of me, but they can't be more scared than I am. Spiders are just so ... alien. Maybe I was bitten by a poisonous spider in some past existence, who knows?

It's odd. Alistair isn't remotely fazed by spiders and will quite happily handle them - even tarantulas. Neil won't touch a spider, any more than I would but he will trap them with the spider catcher. In fact he has just come through to the kitchen to see why I was still up and now gone to catch the spider - he's tall enough to reach it. So maybe I will go to bed tonight. Tom was quite able to deal with spiders although he wasn't keen. His sister handles them quite happily. We're all different, as may have been noted before. My father was another one who wouldn't go near a spider, although my mother thought nothing of catching them and putting them out for me.

My bedroom is clear now, so I can go to bed. 'Night all.

Started phoning the Health Centre at 07.45 and joined a queue. After 10 minutes was told "Our reception is very busy, please hang up and call later." No point doing that. I was cut off anyway. I had phoned at 07.30 and only got the automated line so goodness knows when they actually do open their lines. I will phone later but no chance of getting a GP appointment then - all those in the queue before me will have been allocated those, but I hope I might be able to reinstate my nurse appointment for the 31st. :arghh::arghh::arghh::arghh::arghh:

About this friends business .... A man I first met in 1974 (shared a flat with him and 2 others in what became nicknamed the Olympic village) went through some hard times with his mental health but bounced back and, now in his 70s, still works in education and travels here and quite regularly to Europe and especially to the USA. He sends these blogs from time to time but this is a longer version. Some of you may enjoy the photos and the variety of places he visits. The text always sounds in my head in a very broad "Cass" accent. ( Sorry Gordon It is Tottenham Hotspur no S) He was an usher at our wedding, godfather to #2 son and we plan/hope to meet him plus the best man and his wife later in the month to celebrate 40 years.
Lots of Intersting places and art. We visited Abney Park Cemetry a few years ago when my parents came over from France. They stayed in a friends place just a few minutes walk away from there.

Good morning everyone on a bright and sunny start to the day here in the dark and dangerous north. 5.1 this a.m. Not really caught up - a bit preoccupied. Off out for a walk into town in a while to clear my head. Art bit, a few autumnal colours. Hope the sun shines for you today - enjoy its warmth as you sunbath if it does. Koffy finished, best get moving.

5.8 this morning.
Gooderstone Water Gardens was beautiful yesterday. Because there are so many trees there it always feels warmer than you expect it to be.

Today I have got a really long break between classes and 1:1sso I have lots of time to do some coursework before I go across the road to relax, read, eat and drink coffee.

The church has very kindly said I can use the church broadband to access my training videos.

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen and those who enjoy travelling on the third rock from our local fusion reactor.

Blood sugars this morning were a surprising 5.6 ( insert a full stop here, if you so desire ).

Here in Tilehurst Towers it will be a day of planning and possibly doing a dna test we were given. The result's should be interesting. The word Neanderthal is going through my skull as I type this. For Mrs J the rhythm sugar and spice and all things nice, could well be a possible result.

We’ll have the best day you possibly can, I shall be avoiding anything to do with foot the ball.

Now it is time for me to go, bark at the postman and generally behave in a disreputable manner. In other words normally.

Morning all. I can't share an unknown fbg, sorry. Here in L.A. the weather is as good as anyone has a right to expect for the country and time of year so thanks be to God. Talking of what one has a right to expect, some of my ruminations may have been useful. Virtually eliminating a whole food group then expecting to derive enough vitamins, nutrients let alone pleasure is minimally presumptuous if not utterly absurd. Layer on top of that a house and immediate locality outside anything I personally would ever expect to find life enhancing plus my very obvious medical issues which reduce my ability to escape into exercise. Having my MIL living here is absolutely right but I'm not denying that it is an added challenge for both myself and JKP. If I was advising someone else I'd say why on earth would anyone sensible ever presume to be really relaxed and happy? I have this treasure in a very earthen vessel and one flawed aspect is to expect to be immune from my human frailty. The wonder is how I, or anyone else, remains even remotely functional. That's the Advent hope. Now the much needed hugs for others. @Annb hug for the spider problem and even more so for the absurdity of contemporary British access to a GP. @dunelm thank you for sharing the art and hug for the current preoccupation which is hardly surprising. I hope the walk helps. @JohnEGreen hug for the low fbg. @Krystyna23040 wonderful to read how uplifting yesterday was for you but crucially you don't mention if there was a sausage roll for Mr K. Despite the foregoing I really wish you all a wonderful Monday. I shall watch cricket and drink tea then later go into Cambs to collect then feed two grandchildren, one son and his partner. There's today's crack through which the light comes in or Epiphany if you will. Have a song - lyrics here.

Actually got to speak to a receptionist at the GP surgery. Phoned just after 11.00 and was put into a queue as before, but this time got to the head of the queue and connected to a real person! She was very helpful and has managed to squeeze me in an appointment tomorrow at 11.45 with a student GP under supervision of a time served GP. All I want is a results of various tests and an explanation of what they mean and where that leaves us in terms of treatment - if there is any to be had.

The receptionist also re-arranged my Oct 31st appointment with the nurse. Frustration abated. Feeling happier now.

My cold is one step further in its recovery and has reached the stage of just a stuffy nose and a slightly sore throat. BG is still too high, but I'm not concerned about that.

It's all good!

No, it is nothing I've eaten...

I have a disaster here, at least a disaster for me. My iPad mini which is a device I use for everything and has got the videos stored on it ready to post (Work I did yesterday) and work for my everything including my bank account etc , and all my photographs and pictures of Midnight and both my hearing dogs, which I had had on that iPad mini, the other photographs and videos and stuff which I was desperately trying to save from my other iPad Pro which packed in are all different to the ones that were on the this current iPad mini, and various projects which I had partially backed up because I was in the process of doing them, the screen froze and wouldn't let me in, then it froze and wouldn't let me put in my password number.

The last the last eight hours have been working on this iPad mini to try to find out when I last backed it up which was a couple of days ago. But the last couple of days I've been doing a lot of work which will obviously not have been backed up yet.

And I had been working on backing up some of the photographs and videos that were important for me but I hadn't finished that yet ...

There was no indication this was going to happen.
I have spent the last few hours trying everything with Apple and any suggestions and googling and there was nothing I could do myself the resolve this.

So an hour ago I made the decision to erase the IPad 2. Well, that was a faff to find out how to do... And none of the words or the icons were where apple said they were so I had to do a lot of guesswork to find out the erase button then there was a whole pile of code number for me, before I could do it.Aagghh..

Well my iPad mini is erased now, and then taking a break for a couple of hours and then see if I can reinstall it from the cloud, or if I have to start all over again with it...

There was a whole pile of things that were running from it, for example of my central heating and unless I can get the app for the central heating running again I can't run the central heating from the thermostat thingy on the wall....

I tried accessing my bank account from another device because I only had it up and running on the iPad mini. And it did not want to let me in my bank. Said my password etc etc I was putting in was wrong. It's all written carefully in a special place. I will try again later with that, it wanted me to telephone them using a voice call on a proper telephone which I cannot do with being deaf... And then when I could not respond to that the bank asked me to press this first button here and in oh five to ten days they will give me a password which I will be able to access my bank but that was coming by post. So I pressed this button and then the page crashed, so I don't think even that will be happening and I haven't got a clue how to proceed at this point.

I think a mid morning sherry, even though it is nearly midday is appropriate at this point...

Creative is a painting I did awhile ago...

Have a happy day, I am going outside for a bit..

I've said it before and I'll say it again - technology! Life was much simpler without it. Bring back the good old pre-tech days - furs, cold, inadequate shelter, no fire. Well, maybe not. Just go back maybe 50 years or so - I was young and able to cope with things then.

In the circumstances you describe a mid morning sherry seems wholly appropriate and positively restrained. Knowing how much it means to you I'm glad you have been able to share a creative especially one which seems to me to be optimistic. You as much as anyone ever has make me wonder how a person can remain so positive and encouraging. I hope being outside is the positive experience you need just now and that somehow all the tech issues can be resolved so your life can run as smoothly as possible.
