What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Had a lovely surprise this Christmas. A cousin I had lost touch with sent a card and promised a letter to follow. What a delight!

My Christmas will be very quiet - just Neil and myself and I shan't see much of Neil since he habitually spends his days working on some digital project or other (composes electronic music and does digital artwork as well as researching a wide range of subject online). Today will be no different. He did, however, come through at about 06.30 with a book he had bought for me about making aebelskiver (Danish spherical pancakes). Tom bought a special pan for making them years ago on a trip to Sweden and I've never been able to use it, not knowing how. Lovely present and much appreciated. Probably shan't see him for the rest of the day now. Neil doesn't really do Christmas.

Hoping that you all have a lovely day, whether with or without loved ones nearby. It is a tough time if there is someone missing but there is lots of love surrounding you all from this forum, if nowhere else.

Happy Christmas.

Merry Christmas one and all. Hugs for anyone keenly feeling the absence of loved ones either permanently or just this Christmas which must be common in this area. We have two boys and partners plus two grandchildren but I know many aren't so blessed.

A beautiful card @dunelm
Merry Christmas

And a happy Christmas for you @Annb

Badger Willow forages on Sun night - Mon night I put up lights and Badger Thor is foraging for worms and grubs ... he does not seem to mind the Christmas lights... I was a bit worried they might scare the Badgers... but Thor came at his usual time of around 4 am...

Creative is my Xmas Card from a photo of the lights in my garden for the beasties. But sadly the colours are not picked up by my actual trail cameras

Happy Christmas

I can only cut and paste the sentiments shown here @jjraak.

Merry Christmas on a lovely summer's day.
All I can say is, I have been spoiled (again) Mrs L has been more than spoiler and I have took a few minutes before dinner. To wish you lot, who have been so supportive and friendly to us this year.
The hordes did descend, and the after effects I'll be dealt with later.
My DiL has been in the hospital working this morning, and along with all the others, who do work the Christmas period. I do know what it's like. Have a thought for those who do make this day special for the rest of us.
If we all could just live in a place where nobody wanted for nothing just for one day. That is what we should all be striving for.
Have a wonderful day.
It's been good here so far.
My bestest Christmas wishes.
And have a fabulous footie unboxing day tomorrow.

Oh, on a light hearted note, I got a lovely pair of loungewear with kangaroo poo all over them!!!
What next?

Hi all and Merry Christmas to everyone.
Unfortunately I have not been feeling my best over the last week or so and have not been on line for a while so have a lot of catching up to do.
A week or so somebody drove into the side of us causing some damage to my new car which is now in a garage for repair and I am not likely to get it back for a few weeks
Don’t know my Fbg as did not check it today.
Adrian is booked on a flight from Dublin on Friday and is coming to spend a week with us looking forward to seeing him.

Oh dear @JohnEGreen

That is really terrible.
You enjoy Adrian's visit...

I hope you have a peaceful day today. And all the best for 2025 xx

Oh John, what a shame. I hope you are feeling better and that you enjoy Adrian's visit. We missed you here but good to know that the damage to you wasn't too bad, unlike your car by the sound of it. Have a good day today. Happy Christmas to you and all your family.

Good to see you here mate, and merry Christmas.
a knock like that will put you on the subs bench a while
And having Adrian home is a bonus.
Best wishes mate.

Pleased the it was only the car with the damage have a great time with Adrian.

Good morning survivors of the great excess, low carb of course - or not!. If some carbs tumble into a dinner and no one mentions it, was it actually there? Lots of phots on antisocial meeja showing that many folk are under the impression that despite what the Fab Four said, Louis Vuitton bags are the only way of expressing love. Very sad. It’s like an annual insurance payment. Still, Mrs Miggins and I exchanged small gifts and no no socks or ironing board covers in sight this time. Just what do you get for the person who has everything - penicillin? Art bit, just finished something I did a while ago. May your leftovers make a delicious feast, I shall begin with some Monsoon Malabar.

The art bit is really great @dunelm
The sea and waves is incredibly effective the way you've done it....

Morning all from a quiet, damp and dull - outside - L.A. on a day to catch one's breath and reflect on one's blessings. @JohnEGreen so sorry to hear about the accident but glad you are able to be home, here and looking forward to Adrian spending time with you. @dunelm thank you for sharing the art: personally I was always delighted with the week or ten days post Christmas with the new underwear and socks, whatever else I was gifted. Sales from the sofa are the way forward, especially the early access (all areas) winter Riders of Rohan, then a surfeit of sport watching. Have a peaceful Thursday, Boxing day, Feast of Stephen. Creative... the Sun is shining on the tops of my trees. Each day towards the spring the Sun will get lower and lower in my garden and finally it will touch the ground! And I will be able to sit in the sunshine again.... this is about 2 to 3 months away.... and so I have taken a kaleidoscope with Laboscope of the scene outside my bedroom window.

Now to go in the garden and get the SD cards out and see who visited last night ....

Have your best kind of day....

Thank you for sharing the video and kaleidoscope. I hope you are having a peaceful time after what seems to have been a stressful last few months.
