Good morning everyone on what is turning out to be a most splendid version of bin day here in the dark and dangerous north. 5.6 this a.m. and already we have been treated to a magnificent performance of the bin lorry cavalcade with outriders sporting brand new, eye wateringly bright orange fluorescent work wear possibly in homage to Vivienne Westwood.
Wonderful walk through the woods yesterday, marveling at the life, death and regeneration of plants. Dead and storm damaged trees are felled and left in the woods rather than being taken away. Hotels and eateries for all manner of life. Snowdrops in abundance and the fresh green leaves of garlic bursting through.
Down on the lower prom, disaster daahrings as Mrs Miggins’ favourite bacon butty cafe was closed. So, on the way home, called into shop and bought bacon. Home, made her a bacon butty which came with complementary mug of tea.
Art bit, just a line of ink drawn across damp watercolour paper to see what would happen. A little embellished.

I am reminded that pleasure can become punishment, like cheat days for dieters. This does not count mind when you are indulging in koffy as it is an institution, as is a decent mug of tea.

Thank you for sharing today's interesting art. Sorry if my first impression is my, but that patient really does seem to be quite poorly. I blame some of the questions on Monday's University Challenge which I watched last night. Yesterday's walk seems to have been an uplifting and wonder filled experience. Vivienne Westwood dressed recycling and repurposing technicians, how very elitist.

Thank you @ianpspurs. Our local authority always tries to look after corporation workers well while spending funds in the most sensible and cost effective way while at the same time opening tenders to a wider community of brown envelopes.

FBG 9.6 this morning. Nice to the green in range on the CGM.

Stressful day today so that will impact the FBG for tomorrow.

Had an appointment with the Diabetes nurse today amongst everything else. I have not seen her in awhile. Visits with her are as rare as hens teeth and I really had to advocate for myself to get this one. Was lucky that someone else had cancelled last minute.
She had some great suggestions which I will implement asap. Thankfully I wrote them down...

In the wars now.
I cannot see well enough to write on here because I can't wear my glasses for reading because of the eye patch and stuff on my eye,
So a quick post now and I'll try again in the morning when I take all this stuff off. And see what it is I can see.

Ade does write some great stuff.
And no I stayed in the warm but it’s not just that if I had the dressing changed yesterday it would have meant no bath or shower for several days and I need a bath.
Oh dear look what the app has done to the quote will have to just use the desk top computer or IPad from now on.

Good morning everyone on another feisty Friday here in the dark and dangerous north. 5.3 this a.m. Shopping yesterday and we saw several desperate looking men furtively carrying flowers of various amounts and hiding them in the boots of their cars. Is there a tax war on imported flowers on the horizon?
A surprise card yesterday from the wonderful Mrs Miggins that she spotted in a craft shop - anniversary of our first date!! How does she remember this stuff? Mind you, we don’t do “socially required” cards or whatever they are called. It’s the modern overkill of it all. A bit like the now joyless activity of climbing a mountain and then having to queue for an hour to get to the designated pinnacle, surrounded by Tic Tac snap chatters who then need rescuing because they chose to wear the latest sneakers and high fashioned what nots. Baaaah! Humbug! Bring back the birch - a plea for the restoration of our dwindling numbers of silver birches.
A clearing of decks yesterday also - all ready for tomorrow when the Ninky Nonks and Little Miss Pamplemouse arrive from Birmingham although she is now not that little and now at 10 years old able to nab things to wear from her mothers wardrobe. Not many mind as mum does not really dress like the character Wednesday Adams.
Today is a smorgasbord of moments which, due to still being in the future, may or may not include Mrs Miggins taking her sister to lunch, me sorting out the washing and perhaps doing a teeny adjustment to what could be our evening meal which at present is looking favorably to include fish. I need to substitute petit pois for garden peas in a fit of anti French vocabulary.
Art bit - another zip across damp paper with an ink pen.
Hope your day plods nicely along in the direction towards Saturday. I better get my order in on the NHS app for more meds and then make some koffy.

6.2 this morning.
Not in the mood to work yet -so have been chatting to daughter on phone, then sister then walking Bonnie and of course drinking coffee.

Blood sugars this morning were a 5.6 , so I shall say thank you.

Now it is time to get on with my life, now just where did I leave my screwdrivers?

FBG 10.0 this morning. Big day. Had a roast lamb out for dinner as had no energy to cook after the big week.
Left the potatoes on the plate, but did have chocolate brownie for dessert.

8.2 at 01.20 today - just an hour in bed before my Libre sounded the alarm. I was already tossing and turning anyway with really painful shoulders and chest, so I got up again. Got back to sleep after a while, in the chair but then that got to be uncomfortable so, having taken the strain off my shoulders, was able to go back to bed and sleep for another hour. BG still in the 8's when I got up again, and still is.

Another beautiful sunny day here in the northern wilds but it's due to break down a bit tomorrow. It was good while it lasted. Unfortunately, Neil was planning to work on the roof next week, when Alistair can come and help him. Just hope the weather doesn't get too bad before they do the work.

Looking at this family history stuff again, it confirms my view that racial bigotry and prejudice are just foolishness. Turns out that I am a mixture of people from the Arabian Peninsula, Judea, Galilee, Greece, Italy, Turkey, Italy, France, Normandy, Brittany, Wales, Ireland, Scotland, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Belgium and England. I also have cousins in America, Australia and New Zealand. Plus a more distant one in John E Green to add to the English ones. A real mongrel.

The point is - just about every other European, American, Australian etc are the same kind of mixture. We are unity embodied.

About sixty percent of my DNA matches are in America they include cousins who are manly African American, Mexican, some who are Indigenous North American American is truly a melting pot.
Recently uploaded my DNA data to GedMatch they have a tool that compares your DNA to Ancient DNA and seems I share some DNA with Otzi the ice man and there is in the list early Anglo Saxon and even some Neanderthal and a whole lot of others I can’t remember at the moment non of us are a hundred percent one thing we have a truly global population.
