What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Fbg 6.5

I had an email this morning from FamilySearch saying you are related to John Wayne... good grief.....
That is all you are getting today...
I have two pairs of sunglasses on because the sun is too bright for my new cataract eye. It caused me a visual zig zag migraine yesterday. And was close to giving me another one until I put the second pair of sunglasses on.

And so I am sleeping on the warm side of the front window...

Creative is a Laboscope kaleidoscope of my front garden. Now I am going back to sleep again... hopefully as soon as the sun sets, hopefully I'll be able to do a few things, hopefully, unless I decide sleeping is a fun thing to do today....

Isn't there any way to turn off the autocorrect/predictive text function? At least my PC doesn't do it and the mistakes are all my own.
I use speech to text. My arthritis does not allow me to type fast enough. But the thing is my voice is good enough (as a deaf person, I have good speech) for it to recognise, exactly what I said in the first place because it writes it correctly in the first place. It is not as simple as turning off autocorrect/predictive text. This is more complicated than that. It depends on which app I use, because each app is configured differently with speech to text. For example, this diabetes site does one lot of things with my speech to text , and on another site where I do replies to, it does something completely different to what I actually said. And so on. I am currently working with ChatGPT, on all the different things I can do for the iPad, and then a whole set of different things to do for android...

The most frustrating thing is, that each app which ever it is they are gets it right the moment I say the words, but different software within each app might change completely what I said.

The advice GPT eventually came up with, was some apps which are far better for dictating in because they do not change your words at all, but to be honest that is not viable when I am trying to reply in social media, or on these diabetes pages.
Thanks @Annb

No FBG as it's been a really busy day even tho I'm supposed to have my foot in the air.

sitting during babysitting before and after footie.
quote of the day from Mrs L.........
why don't you sit down and pass me my slippers and put kettle on for a cuppa?

If I had hair........!

my gov pension goes up by a £1 a week.
my rent goes up by a £1.50 per week.
my work pension goes up by £2 per week.
my local tax goes up by £1.20 per week
Mrs L had some good news about her P.i.P. Now until December '28. But has only gone up by 50p per week.
Other rises such as water , are not yet received.
No wonder nobody feels much better yet.

Oh yeah, my foot is sore now!
Sent my son to get some paracetamol.... The local Morrison's local didn't have any??????
DiL got some for me.
Gonna have to do another big shop. Just can't carry much or walk far.

5.5 this morning.
We are off to the Goat Shed this morning as part of Bonnie's training to be calm and sit still when in new places. It has an outdoor area at the cafe for dogs and we are going early when there are not too many people around.

We have never been there before. The farm shop is supposed to be really good.

Good morning everyone on a wonderfully quiet start to the day here in the dark and dangerous north.
5.7 this a.m.
Good meet up with class of 82 veterans yesterday despite hold ups (2) on the train journey there.
Today, this morning, we are off to Windermere for a couple of days - I am packing a bag - Mrs Miggins packed about a week ago - very odd.
Art bit - just a quick sketch.
Hope your day is peaceful, best make some koffy

6.5 at 04.00 today. Another bad night due to breathlessness. I think at least part of it might be that I've been less strict on the low carbing recently because of a suspicion that too much protein is causing a problem with my kidneys and a more veggie diet seems inevitably to contain a higher carb level. This has resulted in a weight gain. Might also be due to different diuretic allowing more fluid to be retained. Can't win.

Did I say that I had a reply from the hospital at last to say that my heart monitoring didn't show anything serious? Apparently when I increase my activity level (a tiny amount because that's all I can do) my heart rate shoots up but it is more regular than when I am at rest. When I stop moving, it becomes irregular as it slows down. The letter also says that I am to have a heart scan sometime. Actually, most of the time, it seems to have sorted itself out anyway, so I think it must have been some kind of inflammation/infection which is probably best left well alone.

Good nearly afternoon Ladies and Gentlemen. If you feel left out by this greeting, my advice to you is go and make a strong drink of your choice, sit down while drinking it and then go read something else other than my post.

Blood sugars this morning were 4.9 therefore no driving for me this morning, but then again I can’t drive this morning. Mrs J has taken the car up to Mordor and my motorcycle is off the road at the moment. My handies and leggies might get cold. Call me a wimp if you want.

In a few minutes I must scale the back garden to my top shed, retrieve my petrol lawn mower from the depths of the shed then try and start it. This will be interesting or frustrating. Who knows or cares?

To those travelling, have a safe journey. I must now travel up the garden to my shed of destiny or desperation….

Edit
The lawn mower started on the 2nd pull of the starter cord, now there’s lucky for me boyo .

gone off dogs for some reason!

Am not surprised @Lamont D . The dog bite sounds like it is still very painful. Have just seem your post.
Not really tho, it is painful and limping around frustratingly.
But I can't blame the dog in the end.
If the dog was intent, his jaw would have locked, it didn't bite down or grip!
Jokingly, he was hungry, and my feet were there!
Taking the mutt to the vets tomorrow, for testing for mange!
I have apologised.

Just one of those things @Krystyna23040

Interesting landscape...
Enjoy your trip @dunelm

Ran out of time today...
There are never enough hours in one day....
Just realised I had not done a creative...
I had intended photographing some daffodils earlier, but I was busy...
So here is a kaleidoscope of my front room?....
Night night.
Sweet dreams.

It is a shame when something like that happens @Lamont D

That's what we said when Archie "bit" a man outside his house. If a rottweiler (x lab) meant to bite, his jaws would do a lot of damage. That didn't save him however and the police insisted he was put down. He was supposed to be an Alsatian lab cross when they bought him but as he grew he very clearly was a rottweiler cross, but actually a very nice dog.

I think in most cases of dogs biting, but not all.
It is the lack of training of the owner, and then the dog. You see it everyday on the usual dog walk routes.
A well trained dog would be only playing.
You would certainly not like a dog to grip or lock their jaw on.
But as I have advised my neighbour to see a vet for the dogs behaviour before deciding. It is their choice, not mine. But sometimes even if was play, some breeds get the event of blood, then there is no coming back from that.
These things happen!
Ouch!

Good morning everyone from Windermere.
5.7 this a.m.
Spent the afternoon wandering round this little town after first having lunch in the smallest pub in The Lakes - dissapointingly not in a phone box. Then an early evening stroll along part of the shoreline amassing over 6 miles by days end.
Today is Ambleside - we have a property to visit that we stayed in a few years ago and may be booking for next years family weekend. So, probably an amble round Ambleside and then back here as there is a short walk up through the woods for what could be a good view over the lake if the weather is right.
Art bit - a quick sketch looking at the far side of the lake whilst hiding behind some trees.
Enjoy your day, I am enjoying a freshly made cafetière of koffy.
