Quite cold today, so I came in from the garden.
I am now sitting on the warm side of the window.

Nighttime wildlife video.
Fox Finn, Badgers Willow & Thor, Cats Merlin & Jade...this is Part 3 of 3, all the same night. There was a lot of activity this night...

Creative... one of my sketches on my phone with my finger while I'm sitting in the car after I've been shopping, just for a wee rest.
But she had crossed the road before I drew her legs and wellies, but I did manage to get her dog in...
She was looking at me, so I think she was a bit suspicious as what I was doing on my phone...

Time for an afternoon nap and cuppa tea...

I hope you all have a good day ...

first of all, what is time off?
Only joking, I have been in my garden today, a bit nippy but tolerable in the sunshine.
seeing as it's Judith's time off, let her suggest something or not.

enjoy anything that pleases her.
it is always wise to enjoy what your beloved wants!
I say this from forty years of experience.

Only good advice here mate!

I do like the movement that you create in these sketches

Good morning everyone on what looks likely to be an on/off day on the rain tap but even as I type, the rain has turned all heavy, white and lumpy, obscuring the snowbells pushing up in the garden.
5.6 this a.m
I need to clear the decks this morning and then do a bit of cooking prep. Visitors for an early evening meal. So, I thought tapas - a selection of small dishes so people can help themselves. Some will invariably contain some dreadful carbs - oh horror of horrors! Spanish garlic courgette will be included and the potatoes for the inevitable Patatas Bravas parboiled yesterday and have sat in the fridge overnight - that will make a bit of resistant starch - I’m winning already!
Art Bit - on the basis of salt. Nearly the name of that film about Ruth Bader Ginsberg.
Hope your day moves along with the barest of ripples. Although some ripples are more agreeable than others. Take koffy for instance - oh, don’t mind if I do.

5.7 this morning.
Finish the antibiotics tomorrow morning They have worked really well. Was very lucky to get them so quickly.

Warning - don't read on if you are eating your breakfast.
Only downside is that my stomach is not very happy with them. Have had to warn classes that I may need to dash out to the loo during the class. Luckily that hadn't happened too often.

4.9 today.
Appointment this morning with the advanced practitioner nurse to discuss this pain that has been keeping me awake at night 3 AM this morning then awake at 6 AM. Tomorrow appointment with the tissue viability nurse.
Surprisingly quite here this morning has nejst door were supposed to have workmen taking up the concrete that covers their back yard to slow them to lay a patio porcelain slabs and all but no sine of them as yet so will enjoy the peace and quiet no snow or rain here as yet but should have rain in the afternoon.

Good morning one and all. fbs at 7.30 am was 9.7. I have had an interesting past few weeks. At the beginning of Feb. I was up all night in terrible pain unlike anything else I have experienced over the years. It subsided then flared up again a couple of mornings later. I managed to get an emergency appointment with a new GP who sent me directly to A&E with a covering letter for tests. A&E was manic. I didn't have to wait to be triaged as I had the covering letter but still had to wait several hours to be called. We sat in A&E for 17 hours with various tests/ scans etc followed by waiting for results then was admitted to Surgical Assessment ward By now it was 8am the following day. ( Apparently the system had been down and everything had been done manually hence the long waiting). I was not allowed to eat or drink anything other than water until seen by the consultants in case I needed surgery. Long story short I have a very large kidney stone that will not pass naturally so needs surgery to remove it. As the acute pains had subsided, it was not an emergency and I was exhausted after 29 hours of testing and waiting around we agreed that I would be better in the comfort of my own bed and was sent home with lots of helpful medications and an emergency number in case of another flare up. The best part was that I was now allowed to eat! Hospital food never tasted so good! I was told that I would have another CT scan in 2 weeks and surgery in 4 weeks. I did have my re-scan but have been chasing things up since then re surgery as it is now 5 weeks ago. X-ray department said the report had not yet been sent to the consultant. Finally, yesterday I was given the number of the consultants' secretary who requested the report and it was sent yesterday. So I am waiting for him to ring me. In addition to that I have an appointment in Dermatology today for 2 biopsies. Life is fun if you don't weaken! Sorry about the long post. Just seems ages since I was in touch although I do check in every day to see how you are all getting along. Best wishes to you all you lovely lot. LOL

6.5 at 03.00 today. My arm is very much better - as long as I don't try to do too much with it, but I can, at least turn on a light switch with my left hand without severe pain, and as long a I don't try to actually use the hand, I'm almost pain free in that regard. Just as well I no longer need that stronger pain killer because it never materialised. The receptionist said they didn't have a doctor to ask about it, so it wasn't requested.

Art bit @dunelm ... it looks like spring has arrived ...all those leaves on the trees...

The meal sounds good!

My tummy has been iffy last couple days...stress I think @Krystyna23040
It is something that has to be done, but the optician firm are assigned to do my eye post op check are not responding to me.
I ask myself at the moment, do I need to fart or?... better not attempt the fart, better be safe than sorry....

That is a horrendous experience @dogslife
All I can send you is long distance gentle hugs....

Enjoy that peace and quiet for the mo. It is slightly chilly here. I can smell rain in the air @JohnEGreen

Absolutely stupid at the doctorless surgery @Annb

Thank you @gennepher. These last 5 weeks seem to have gone on forever with a great deal of frustration as my phonecalls have resulted in different people giving me conflicting information or not replying to my recorded messages. The X-ray department have been good and it was them who put me in touch with the consultant's secretary yesterday who chased the results and got back to me right away. My GP has also referred me for a repeat scan of my upper abdomen as recommended by the hospital to check on the progress of my gall bladder polyp/ stones. The scientists would certainly have an interesting time if I decided to donate my body to them! LOL Best wishes.

Looks stormy outside!

I am having some problems...It is something that has to be done, but the optician firm are not responding to me.
They were allocated by St Paul's to do my post op cataract check. I can only go to a Liverpool opticians for the postop cataract check, because they are the only ones that St Paul’s have a reciprocal agreement. But they only have the contact of a telephone number which I cannot use with being deaf. But they only have the contact of a telephone number which I cannot use with being deaf. To fill in their box for an appointment, only gives option of choosing a date, but no time, and says they will ring you. But no extra blank box to give any details like I cannot hear them on the telephone with being deaf. They are well on the other side of Liverpool to me ,who lives in Wales. It is nearly 40 miles by car so 80 miles for a round-trip if I want to actually drive there to make appointment. I have contacted them by letter which should've well arrived by now, I have also contacted them by a contact text box on their site, but they have not responded to that. I even tried Text relay which is the telephone service for deaf people, but the person on the other end obviously didn't understand the system and put the phone down on me. I tried a few times....
I gave them my Text number, and email address, in their contact us box...

And guess what they made another phone call...

I message ChatGPT and ask their advice.

ChatGPT tells me I've done everything I can. But it made the surprising suggestion (for an AI, I thought) of how about making it a day out and you drive to the opticians go in and talk to them face-to-face and then have a nice day out...

That is my plan for a few days time....when I see a fine day...

The next suggestion ChatGPT made was contact PACT at the Royal and explain the situation to them and put the whole thing in their hands. Fortunately, I have no problems that I'm aware of with my eyes so I'm not worried. But it is having the unfortunate problem of a bit of a tummy upset for me.

Creative... using my finger drawing a quick sketch on my phone when I'm sitting in the car, this is the same woman as yesterday, but I noticed when she walked past my car, I could still see her in my wing mirror. So I drew another quick sketch of her. But obviously I have realised I cannot draw a person with Wellington boots on!!!!

Have your best kind of day
Take care
Hugs if you need them
Sit and watch the world go by....

Yes, definitely better to be safe than sorry - which is exactly what I have found.

Hope you get your post op check @gennepher

At the moment it is looking highly unlikely. I do not understand why the opticians do not reply. No one seems to like someone being different like a deaf person wanting something other than a voice phone call. If anyone telephones me on the phone with a voice call, I subscribe to a service who not only leave the person a message to say I'm deaf. I cannot hear on the phone. Please email or text me, But they will also give me a transcription of whatever somebody says on a voicemail. The opticians seem to have taken no notice of either of those things and just sent another voice call.

People simply do not accommodate you, they do not accommodate disabilities.

As I said in my post, I have contacted them enough different ways, using their site, using head office, using a letter, using text relay the deaf phone service But the woman at the opticians put the phone down each time I tried that.

Currently I have no idea what to do. Initially I was thinking well I'll just drive there, to wherever it is, like I always do to make appointments when people are being awkward. If I needed them I was thinking of getting my next pair of glasses there, because they were okay 25 years ago when I lived in Liverpool, but no chance now....

After my cataract procedure I did not get a follow up as the clinic expected Spec savers to do it the optician told me that the clinic expected them to do it for free so Spec Savers simply ignore any request for a follow up check.
Thanks @JohnEGreen
That fully explains the opticians lack of communication with me.
I am not having this...I intend to take this further...I don't know how yet...but a little publicity or reviews would not come amiss...

Edit: a little to add. I immediately came up with five point plan as soon as you said the above.
I give the firm one more chance to contact me, and I have just done that now, then if they do not respond in a few days, this is definitely going to get stepped up a notch and includes publicity......
