What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

@PenguinMum et al. I tried to watch Love Island once out of curiosity -- I managed about 15 minutes before changing the channel to an actual program with an actual plot and actual actors.

@DJC3 good luck with your muddy run. (What is a muddy run, BTW?)

@ianpspurs hug and a rainbow for optimism for your scans, and for your strength and courage going through all these procedures. I would be a jellied mess -- it was bad enough just going to my doc the other day re the not-UTI. I did absolutely nothing yesterday except try to chill.

@DJC3 again and @johnpol I was fascinated to read about the dog-training method. I have been trying something similar with the KittenCat in an attempt to stop her from waking me up meowing for treats every. single. morning. It is all my fault for "training" her to do so, now she knows it will get the results she wants. I started again this morning by giving results she did not ask for -- i.e., picking her up and carrying her around, stroking her, instead of dispensing treats. She purred the whole time but asked for treats the minute I put her down. Kinda hard to establish my alpha-ship with an animal who is not a pack animal! Sometimes it was easier with an 1100-lb. horse.

Nearly forgot -- 6.3 FBG this morning. I have got to get going this morning. I need to go shopping for a new mattress.
 
@SaskiaKC I think you’re right, horses are probably easier to train than cats, but I think that’s part of what makes us besotted with them!
The muddy run is a 5k charity run with obstacles like an assault course and a lot of mud along the route. At the moment it’s cold and raining here so I’m not relishing the idea at all!
Good luck with the mattress shopping - so important to get the right one.
 
I wouldn't even begin to try and train a cat, just because well their a cat and do as they wish! The cats we have had in the past just did as they pleased and only let us be their servants!! Goos luck with the training.

They are more impressed with me prodding myself for blood glucose readings than my Mountain bike skills, in their words "Grandad you are well hard"

Ummmm ... no. Sometimes I think about taking her out for a ride around the building but .... no. ^. .^

I liked the mattress store and had a great time chatting with the manager and another customer, one from the town where I was born, the other from Alabama, where I lived for several years and keep finding myself homesick for whenever I see something that brings it to mind. (Alabama -- State of Mind -- hmm, maybe they should put that on their license plates!) I found a great mattress in my price range ... only to learn that I had made a really terrible mistake last night on their website in not noticing that they do not take PayPal. No PayPal = no credit card = no mattress.

Oh, well, I hadn't planned to buy one until after I moved, so if I keep waking up without any bites I will just keep this old one 'til I move. I think the other morning must have been a fluke, but waking with itchy bites is terrifying.

It was great, though, to just get out for a while, converse with two nice Uber drivers and the two people in the store. Then at the pharmacy I picked up a new anti-anxiety med which we hope won't irritate my bladder into thinking I have another UTI. This one is Buspirone, so we shall see ...

I will speak to the weathermen and see if we can send you some of our heat and sunshine -- right now we have far too much of both and should share.

Oh, forgot to say all the best with your muddy run, most of all enjoy it, sounds great fun.

If you get to like it your Avatar name could become Muddy Runner.

Thank you. Prince was a 15h not-bully, a loner in the pasture, and under saddle an old BTDT horse who knew just exactly how much he could get away with without having to make any real effort, such as bucking, or rearing ...

Yes please, we are singing and performing all day tomorrow outdoors in out Georgian Costumes at over 1000 feet above sea level, high on a ridge where the wind hits heavy from the Cheshire plains. I shall be holding on to my Tricorn Hat
