Wall to wall blue skies and sunshine again...
I don't think I have ever noticed so many wall to wall blue skies in one go for a long time...

I was doing a painting, but haven't finished it yet, and so here is a kaleidoscope from the reflections in my front room window to the dark outside.... it looks nothing like the actual reflections in the window, which do look very interesting...to me!!!

6.9 at 03.30 today.

We have to get the windscreen replaced on the Scenic today, so Neil will be off to town shortly. I had thought that our insurance covered the complete cost of replacement, but it seems I have to pay a £95 excess charge. I'm also asking for a coating to be put onto the windscreen to avoid frosting up, which has been a serious problem this year, for some reason, so that's another near £40. Not a disaster but everything is going up and up and ... I reckon that I'm down by about £40 a week - and that's not including food. But hey - my state pension goes up by about £1 a week from this week and my attendance allowance goes up by almost £2 a week. I'll be able to have a spending spree.
 
5.3 this morning.
It was so lovely at Gooderstone Water Gardens yesterday. It is so tranquil there.

It was the first time Bonnie had seem water and she got so excited she went a little crazy and tried to jump off one of the bridges.

Everyone thought she was a lovely puppy and she did behave quite well in the cafe.

I am still trying to find all my art materials. They were spread about three rooms and the garage.

It was rather warm today to be sorting through stuff!

I was sent a PDF all different kinds of remedies you can use for pain, by daughter in Australia who is having some health problems like myself now. I was quite surprised to find that I had used or I've done rather pretty well most of them in this PDF over the years

I found something I haven't used, and that was herbal wormwood patches...

I thought they'll never be any good. Anyway, there was a load on Amazon at the moment so I chose the cheapest ones. I picked them up this morning. And tried them out this afternoon. I thought I'd read some reviews to say that you could leave them on for a few days but the actual instructions said only eight hours and then take them off and then put a fresh one on. Well, that was most certainly going to work out rather costly.

It was mainly for my knees I want them because I get very sharp neuropathic pains in my joints and my extremities. And the short sharp pains in my knee joints cause my knees to give away and for me to fall over.

I put patch under each knee this afternoon and immediately the short sharp neuropathic pains in my knees stopped.

I was getting the same pains in my wrists, which was affecting me trying to sort out stuff. So I cut a patch in half, more or less, and I put a piece on each wrist. It stopped the pain in each wrist and the short sharp pains. And it was easier to use my hands to do things, they were too clumsy before.

I asked ChatGPT to do some research for me because I couldn't find the reviews which I had read that said they used them for several days at a time without taking the patches off. Anyway, ChatGPT found the reviews and he found some more information and said that some people found they had allergic reactions to the patches, and they were itchy, but other people had absolutely no problems and could wear them for several days at a time. Which would most certainly make it a bit more affordable.

So at the moment I'm experimenting with this and at the moment I'm very encouraged with how much they can help me.

I shall be cutting them in half next time I put a new one on to see if that is enough to work without having to use the whole patch....

Creative is plum blossom... but I wasn't very happy the way it turned out. I was a bit tired when I started it, and I should've probably have left it for today. I used my Art Kure pens.

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen and those who have been naughty by not doing the exercises that the physio prescribed.

Blood sugars this morning were 5.7

Yesterday I finished modifying a plant holder into a lashed up ( literally) bird box for a neighbour, who kindly dug a post hole for me. The bird box will need treating then airing before use.
This the first woodworking I have been able to do for a long time, since my radiotherapy and associated medication ended.

Yep life is fun and I like to grab as much as I can.
Now I’d better start those exercises.

Technical bit.
Up cycling, reclaimed material an old bicycle inner tube to protect the chip board edges. In truth I don’t expect it to last more than a season or 2.

Good morning everyone on an all things bright and beautiful start to the day here in the dark and dangerous north.
An uneventful journey home from France yesterday - always on the plus side of travel.
Can you be jet lagged with only a one hour difference?
Some ash scattering on a beach took place by our niece (image below). Mother has decided that she will leave dad in the back of a wardrobe and us offspring can decide what to do with both of them when they are united in calcium phosphate - deep joy!
Mrs Miggins has already re-packed in readiness to go off on a mini cruise with her sister on Thursday. I shall be spending the weekend with youngest son, walking, discussing the pro’s and con’s of several sources of scotch and generally putting the world to rights.
Cardio appointment this afternoon - what fun!
Hope your day goes as well as you can make it. I should make another koffy and get moving.

Both Neil and Alistair have promised to make a couple or three bird boxes for all the starlings wanting to nest in our roof but so far nothing has materialised. Can't complain - they already do so much for me. I would buy some but can't see anything suitable for starlings.
 
7.9 at 04.45 today.

Very sore and finding it difficult to walk today. Hands are a bit difficult as well. Can you have toothache in your fingers? Never mind, I have some studying to do today so don't need to move around much. Handling books will be a bit awkward but much of it will be online so not much problem.
 
5.3 this morning.

Took the 7am bus to Norwich for my appointment with the dental practice which I was advised to attend for some very tricky work on two teeth previously root canal filled 30 years ago which became infected..

This is was the last appointment as the xrays showed that the antibiotics inserted in the canals had worked and the canals could be filled. This entailed lying still on the dentist chair for two solid hours. Good news is that the teeth have been saved and now don't need to be extracted. Apparently one of the teeth has 4:root canals. 2 of them hidden and very hard to find.

You wouldn't believe that lying still for 2 hours could be so exhausting - but so worth it.

Did a bit of shopping afterwards.

While I was in Norwich Mr K got the house ready for daughter and family who are visiting us later in the week.

I originally typed that I was galivanting in Norwich and predictive text altered it to hallucinating in Norwich. The dentists pain killers definitely were not that strong.

Very interesting experiment with the patches. Definitely more cost effective if you can keep then on for a few days.
 
Just heard that a friend who has been having trouble with her chest for some months has been diagnosed with cancer and has had to have a tracheotomy to allow her to breathe. She is still very awake and aware of what is happening. She knows that she will not recover and that, other than aid her breathing, doctors can do nothing for her. So sad. So sad. Apparently she has little time left. It's all very sudden because, although she has had this difficulty for some while, it was thought to be some kind of asthma and not especially dangerous. Her poor husband and children are devastated. We can all only pray for her now. I know that others suffer as much, all over the world, but it brings it all closer to home.

The patches are working very well for me so far. I know I hope it continues in the same way. The patches of my knees are still on from yesterday. And it looks as though they may last one more day before they start coming off.

My fbg this morning was five point eight not bad at all.
Not had a bad day today we sat out in the sunshine this morning for hours so far have not had to take painkillers and have been able to eat without feeling sick and have clocked up over 1300 steps walking has been so much easier.
@Annb Hugs for your friend so sad.
