What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Good morning, just.
Just been to the supermarket in the search for alcohol free cidre for Mrs Miggins - sans chance.
Mrs Miggins is painting the walls in my mother’s art room today as there is a chance of rain.
Art bit - not mine but what was sitting on my mother’s art table yesterday.
Hope your day is a cosy one. I am having second koffy before the clock gets to noon.

Creative is a Cherry branch using some Kuretake brush pens I bought last year. I need to practise more with them..

I mislaid my phone again tonight. Well, I didn't mislay it. I just put it down within arm's reach of my couch and I just couldn't put my hands on it again. So another battle with Gemini, the AI with the Pixel Phone...
Google was not responding when I said tonight, "hey google where are you", four times I tried, and then it lit up (and I can see where it was, I was right next to it) but Gemini speaks up saying..."I can't... something.... something... I only exist as software...something...something...I cannot physically press buttons...I am located in Conway Wales United Kingdom you can use your devices location services to find your exact location." Then it decided my phone was located in Ambleside....

Night night...
Sweet dreams

Miss placed items right in front of you - welcome to the club. Lovely Cherry Blossom painting and a good time of the year to paint them.

Good morning everyone on a quiet start to the day here in French Froggy France.
Out for a walk in town yesterday and got caught in a downpour. The only thing to do was to take shelter and sample some wine. Didn’t help stop the rain but we did laugh getting wet going back to the house.
First fresh asparagus of the year for dinner last night. We like to have it with crispy bacon and poached eggs. So that’s what we had.
Birthday celebration today, my sister would have been 65. So, out to lunch at one of my sisters favourite places and then a reenactment from a scene in The Great Escape along the shore with her ashes. Our niece arrived last night from Bordeaux with them.
No art today but may the colour of your thoughts be bright. I am now going to make kofee before everyone gets up.

6.9 this morning.

Very sad day yesterday. Just before my 5pm one to one I received a WhatsApp message froma long term class member who was more of a friend than a class member.

I opened it and it was her husband informing me that she had passed away. I just couldn't take it in, nor could her class later that evening. She will be so missed.

Thanks @dunelm for the flower compliment
I most certainly would not be taking any geography lessons from Gemini (looking around to the pixel phone with trepidation because I speak on my writing on here, my arthritic fingers are too clumsy and takes too long), but Gemini kept quiet, however, it has a habit of volunteering irrelevant information.

Such a shock for you @krystyna and so sad. Sending virtual hugs.

6.5 today at 03.45. Dropped to 3.3 just before I went out so took drastic measures to get it back up. Then, of course, it went too high while I was out. Still 8.7 and will probably go up again when I have my cup of coffee.

Legs all bandaged up again for another week.

I managed to fall over this morning when getting ready for my shower. I'd got everything organised and had stripped off but forgot my socks. Just realised at the last moment but wasn't going to sit down on the cold toilet cover, so tried to get them off while standing. Bad idea. Didn't do any harm, but it reminded me not to be so careless in future.

I think the iron infusion has helped a bit. I'm still very tired, but while awake I do seem to have a bit more get-up-and-go. All to the good.

As Easter vacation starts next week there is no urgency to get everything done and up to date today. So a more relaxing day ahead. Just 3 classes this evening.

We are popping I not the vet to get Bonnie weighed so we can order her tick and flea tablets.
There is a little cafe next door to it that does really nice coffee and I might be able to persuade him to go in for a coffee on the pretext that it is good training for Bonnie. :) ,

BG was playing games last night. It was around the 8 mark all the time but kept dropping to the upper 7's and then rising to the lower 8's. Each time it did that, my Libre alarm went off - 4 times between midnight and 03.20. Very sore by that time so I struggled through to the kitchen and fairly quickly went back to sleep in the big chair. BG stayed above 8 from then on.

Yesterday, while sorting through papers to try to find my appointment letter for my Covid jab, I found a medical report that I have no memory of reading. It was about my eyes. I do remember the GP talking, in an offhand way, about my "mitochondrial disease" but there has never been another mention of it. This report did give a diagnosis of Chronic Progressive External Opthalmoplegia (muscles in the body and around the eyes, getting weaker over time) and I don't think I ever noticed the letter. Anyway, right enough, that is a mitochondrial disease. It also says that I should be seen again in 3 months - the letter is dated September 2024. So I wondered what had happened to that idea.

From what I can see online, there is also a link between this disorder and diabetes mellitus, NAFLD, CKD and hyperparathyroidism - all of which I have been diagnosed with, but I can't see anything about which is the cause and which the effect.

Today - 8 months later - I had a letter with an appointment with the Orthoptic Clinic for 01 May. Well - better late than never, I guess.
