An ice relaxing read, I suppose you could call that ..6.5 this morning.
We had a lovely relaxing day. Took Bonnie to the Bushy Tails dog park this afternoon to do some recall training. She was so good. This time she wasn't scared of the tunnels.
This evening I switched from ice to heat. Am definitely feeling much less sore - even though the bruising is still very spectacular.
I couldn't find my kindle this evening. I had only put it in the freezer with the ice packs. Luckily, once it had defrosted, it switched back on and is working perfectly.
That is reassuring@Krystyna. I reckon no advice fits all. We just have to do what is best for ourselves.I am the same. I sleep much better after reading and using my tablet.
I love this idea. Thanks.I have not found caffeine an issue although I only have tea twice a day , a cafetière of koffy in the morning and perhaps another koffy if out for lunch - and only green tea with fresh ginger and lemon in after lunch. I follow the practice of Chinese people with green tea and just keep refilling the pot with hot water as the day progresses. That gives progressively weaker tea as the day moves on (and less caffeine from the tea leaves).
Yeah I have done thatI wonder if cutting open the tea bag and using the leaves would work? it might be the bag itself. A bit of a faff but could be a good test.
Yes, I totally agree that no advice fits all @dogslife . It is so interesting learning what works for us.That is reassuring@Krystyna. I reckon no advice fits all. We just have to do what is best for ourselves.
Ouch @gennepher - good that your head is intact, and hopefully it doesn't feel sore later.Fbg 6.3
Not quite my day today.
And I sat in my bed for a rest. There was a cushion in the way and I threw it behind me...
The next thing I knew was, a string of fairy lights landed on me, and then crash on my head a very heavy object, and I have soil on my head along with the money plant that had been in the terrarium.
Fortunately, I did not have any device in my hand or on my lap otherwise that would've been broken. The glass in the terrarium was broken. But the lead held it together...
My head seems to be intact...lucky as the terrarium is too heavy for me to lift, it has not moved off the shelf since J gave it me about 20 years ago...
The terrarium was dragged kicking and screaming and is now outside in this foul weather.
Shower, hair wash, a change of clothes for me...
I was trying to cook my dinner, when there was a horrendous downpour. In came Merlin, one of my stray cats. Absolutely soaked to the skin. He would not let me towel dry him. So I went and got a cat bed from another room, and he began drying himself..... and he did beg for half my dinner....
I am knackered....
All I managed towards a creative, was trying out some of the felt pens, and that is your lot for today...
I am going to sleep for the rest of the day. I hope there's a ceasefire.....

Hi ellesangel, am wondering if you have heard of resistant starch?8.5 this morning and seeing what I can do to lower my carbs this week. I have a few ideas and just need to keep up the motivation with the support of this group.
Hope your head isn't too sore today, sometimes the next day bumps feel worse. Was pleased to read about Merlin, have been wondering how your strays are getting on.Fbg 6.3

I do use herbal remedies @SlimLizzy28.95

Have been pottering about in the garden for half an hour or so. Looks like rain, so i watered all the pots by the house which don't always get the benefit of it. Rain would be really good for the sprouted grass seed laid down last night.
Doctors appointment yesterday, got some medication, after the herbal capsules recommended by the pharmacist proved ineffective. Also an explanation for why I get these infections - which was NOT - as one person told me - because I don't wash properly. Which left me embarrassed and ashamed and reluctant to see a doctor, thus escalating and prolonging the problem. Today the doctor simply said it happens more often as women get older and especially in hot weather.
Asked for Hab1c test as well, so we shall see where I am now after months of ignoring the issue.
A question about herbal remedies.
Is it neccessary to believe they will work? To trigger the placebo effect?
So far I have found me them 100% useless, yet the all the pharmacists here recommend them.
Has anyone had a better experience ?
What an over the top reaction from that doctor, totally unprofessional. Very rude as well.I do use herbal remedies @SlimLizzy
And they work for me.
But then I do believe in them.
I started getting interested in herbal remedies a very long time ago, and in the 1980's, I then became interested in homeopathic remedies and Bach flower remedies.
When the homeopathic hospital was in Liverpool, it was run by the NHS, and my doctor made an appointment for me there. I attended the homeopathic hospital for many years until it closed down. It was mainly for my severe migraines which most drugs, conventional drugs did not help me. And the homeopathic remedy which the doctor at the homeopathic hospital made up for me, (they made up the remedies on the spot in the hospital) worked for my visual migraines.
I was sad when it closed down and I had to rely on strong drugs again. Although over the years I had asked questions when I was in the homeopathic pharmacy, and when the homeopathic hospital closed down, I then bought my own homeopathic remedies which were very easily available then from chemist and boots. But eventually the range was reduced and you could only buy a few of the most popular ones. That was no good for me.
Opinion is very much divided on homeopathy, and when the homeopathic hospital closed down, my GP then made an appointment for me with the conventional NHS specialist. Because, the only drug that worked for my visual migraines was Ergot. And she refused to prescribe it me anymore.
When I told the so-called NHS specialist that I had been taking Homeopathic medicines from the NHS run homeopathic hospital, he literally grabbed hold of me by the arm and literally threw me out of his office telling me never to darken his doorstep again calling me a witch among other names.
He saw homeopathy as a betrayal of everything he stood for. Yet I had only attended the homeopathic hospital run by the NHS.
