]] am at John Eastwood hospice he is now free of suffering and pain we the family know dad would want us to let the forum know as he made many friends here

I hope he knew just how much impact he had on others. Much respected, will be missed.
 
Morning all on a dull start to Monday here in L.A. Fbg of 4.9 from the soon to cease to function sensor. No more fbg posts from me for a while. I think I have gained some insights into what food no longer works as well and what impact steroids were having. My annual review last week also involved bloods being taken and an A1c done. Down from 44 in April to 41 last Thursday. Still higher than previously but moving in the right direction. @Pipp thank you for sharing the post from John's daughter. Some kind replies from her in that thread. @Lamont D hug for tiredness and congratulations to Mrs L. I hope Monday is kind to you all.
 
Good news on the hba1c mate. And another disruptive night. The heat was intense for some reason, not below 20degrees until before around 10am. So I'm knackered still. Lots to do, so I'm making this post before more visits this afternoon and of course tomorrow afternoon.
Cricket going really well this morning.
And Lancs qualified in the T20.
Gotta go.

Good afternoon everyone and a wonderfully cool and drizzly start to the day here in the dark and dangerous north.
5.6 this a.m.
A walk into town and a couple of eggs with koffy. Temperature climbing a lot faster than my climb back up the cliff steps.

@Lamont D, congratulations to Mrs L and good news on the A1c moving down @ianpspurs. @Annb - is it the chicken broth? Whatever it is, smile and wave.

About 18 degrees here today but looks like it could be as high as 32 when I land in Bordeaux on Thursday - aaaagh!

Hope that everyone are cool cats today. I best make koffy and get on with the day.

Good morning all. Fbs 7.4 which is a great improvement. What a change in the weather! Windy and raining here and a temperature down to 14 degrees C. That's better. Went for my appointment yesterday as requested by my GP's surgery as my HbA1c results were up to 64 and they only accept up to 58 before taking further action. They already knew that I had stopped taking Dapagliflozin due to what I believed had caused my horrible side effects. Three different medical professionals had agreed that my symptoms matched known side effects of that medication and my symptoms have since gone. I explained that due to my various health problems over the past few months I had been sedentary, in a lot of pain/ stress and comfort eating and would prefer to continue on my present medications for the next 3 months now that I am back to my walking group and a better diet. She reluctantly removed the Dapaglifloxin from my medication list as she believed it was a good medication and didn't believe my symptoms were due to it but referred me to see a diabetes nurse practitioner at the hospital as the alternative medication cannot be prescribed by GP's. She did so as the waiting list means it may take a while to get an appointment. I am hoping that my next HbA1c test will happen before the appointment arrives and that it has come back down to an acceptable level by then as I prefer not to add any more diabetes medications to the 3 I am already taking. So I am being strict with what I am eating from now on. Best wishes to you all for today and the rest of this week.

I remember watching the same film and it effected me also. I also was gifted the book one year, I have no idea why but it got put in a charity bag the next day. My mind would not have been able to cope with it!
 
The rain clouds have passed over and the sun is out again, but there is a breeze, so it isn't all that hot.

In the post, I received another plant. It's a honeysuckle and I want to plant it to climb through the sad looking Leyland cypress. At the moment, it's pretty sad looking itself. It looks to me as though the plant wasn't used to the pot it was in and had just been potted up prior to posting. It wasn't dry, but the soil around it was loose so the roots weren't exactly ready to make the journey. I've firmed it in and left it in the kitchen sink in an inch of water but it really is a sorry looking specimen - all wilted and straggly. It'll need some TLC before it is ready to plant out. All my mint plants are doing well though, as are the basil and parsley. The two plants I seem to have ordered by mistake are doing brilliantly though, as is the Ivy that I want to plant alongside the honeysuckle, so we haven't done too badly in all the dry heat recently.

The trees all seem to be pretty happy with the weather - unlike the ones outside my brother's window, which are losing their leaves. Neil tells me we have a willow which was supposed to be a small plant but which is now growing into a massive tree. Unfortunately I can't see it because it is somewhere behind the Ash trees and the Rowans, which are also pretty big now. Somewhere in that woodland are a couple of oaks and some Scots pines plus some beeches, a few sycamores, several wild pears and there was a maple once. From my window, however, I can only see some willows, a flowering cherry, some things that look like palms but aren't (I'm blowed if I can remember what they are) and those ash and rowans.

I think it was because it was so scarily real. The sound of the animals screaming as they were burnt alive with him was heartbreaking.
 
6.1 this morning.
Bonnie was 8 months old yesterday. She has suddenly stopped acting as though washing o the rotary line was put there for her to attack and try to pull off the line.

So we got washing dry outside this morning - before the very welcome rain this afternoon.

Actually it was Mr K who brought it in as I am in Norwich teaching.

If i had been gifted the book it would definitely have done the same as you and it would have gone straight to a charity shop
