What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

7.7 and another broken nights sleep.
6.20am this morning around four hours all night.
Mrs L is certainly doing better with her sleeping pattern and getting good bed rest every night.
More mobility and not so reliant on me.
But Mrs L does forget things at times.
And having some remarkably weird questions asked.

5.6 at 03.00 today.

Got to bed about midnight but couldn't get to sleep for about an hour. Finally did sleep - must have been about 01.00 but woke up again at 02.50 - Libre yelling at me but then refused to tell me what my reading was. Just wanted to let me know that the battery was low. Got up and put it on charge. So here I am.

No TV to get news. Actually, last night I didn't switch the TV right off. I had been trying to get it to work but left it on stand-by. I know I shouldn't, but it is an awkward socket to get to and I wasn't up to it. When I came through, it was making a whirring noise and the DVD was trying to turn itself on - light flashing as it tried. It might have been doing that for 2 or so hours. I turned it on and then turned it off again and that seemed to stop it. When Neil came through about 04.00, I got him to turn it off at the wall. No more trying to make it work. I'll try to get a new one on Tuesday.

Good morning everyone on a wonderfully bright sunny start to the day here in the dark and dangerous north.
5.7 this a.m.
What to do, what to do?
It’s bank holiday Monday so probably loads of tourists playing at parking badly, wandering about and gawping in shop windows wondering why the shops are shut. Well, because it’s a Monday and our shops are usually firmly shut on a Monday.
So, a walk down through the woods then.
Shorts or trousers? I suppose they would be traisers if they were red.
Art bit - an inky tree in the wind.
Hope this sun is shining where you are. I best finish my koffy and get going.

Love the windswept tree @dunelm

Morning all from L.A. where for the first time since returning to UK last Tuesday I don't need at least one thick jumper and may even venture to leave a door or window open. It has felt so cold but we did have 10 days of temperatures nudging, or above, 40C with at least mid 20s at night when in France. Fitbit showed I had far more deep sleep in those conditions than when I'm smothered in bedding. @dunelm thank you for sharing the art and the traisers barb. My client wishes to plead guilty your honour, although he may be found not guilty on a technicality: pink, crimson (and mint green) may not count. @Annb at the risk of stating the obvious, have you used this for news? I don't watch TV news as it seems so far behind the online version - also clashes with live sport for much of the year. @Lamont D hug for your sleep issues but good news on Mrs L's progress. @alf_Josiah if you are tuning in best wishes for you and Mrs J. Y'all have the best Monday you can - it will soon be cold, dark, wet and very British.

I do have a BBC account, ostensibly so that I can read the news stories, but I can never actually get into it. Just my technical incompetence coming to the fore. It's actually better than watching TV because my eyes and hearing are not what they once were so I miss a lot.

Thank you @ianpspurs and for the reminder of all hues within the elongation of red shift. Mint green mind, a must for when visiting Fortnums for tea.

Busy week ahead. Appointments on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Diabetes/feet/legs. Plus shopping for my new TV, of course.

It's overcast and cold here with a wind building up now from the south west. Another fresh Hebridean day. Neil tells me we have some blackberries growing but they haven't ripened - I daresay they will, in time, sun, heat or no. Most of my lavender and herb plants seem to be OK, although one pot of Basil and 4 lavender plants aren't. Nor is the Parsley. Basil and parsley just shrivelled away and these little lavenders are looking poorly. I think it was because they were in a shady area, while all the others were in strong light. Can't think of any other reason. All other conditions were identical. Given up on the herbs but have brought the lavenders through to a bright window where I can keep an eye on them. Might turn on the lights Neil put up to bring plants on in that window. Shouldn't need to in August, but hey - needs must.

Back up to 8.2 I'm trying. In fact Mrs L says I am very trying.
Fence painting in back garden, with Mrs L 's encouragement. It was very difficult in some parts and tested my flexibility in the scorching sun
Mrs L is being more like her old self at times, especially if it means her starting something and I have to finish it and tidy up. But at least she is trying.
Gonna get to my pit. I'm knackered.
Best wishes.
