That is so sad for the lad @AnnbSad to say, our young friend failed his driving test. The reason? Not his driving but the fact that the air bag warning light came on (he hasn't had the car long but it has never done it in his experience). From the examiner's point of view, he had come for his test in a faulty vehicle, which was a fail! This means he has not only not got a driving license - he also won't get the job he was promised. The employer needs the job to be filled immediately. I know there are rules (I didn't know about that one) but it seems so cruel.
BG was 8.1 at 04.45 today. Been to get my legs bandaged and, this time, the requested blood test. I also stopped off with Neil at a new "Pre-loved" shop - some antiques but lots of mid century stuff as well. Wobbling around that shop was enough exercise to last me a week. Ouch!
In the middle of baking Halloween biscuits and cakes. So far so good, but I'm pretty shattered and I have to get them decorated by tonight so that Neil can deliver them tomorrow morning when he takes the Scenic in for its MOT.
She seemed to know her stuff, not 100% sure is a specialist Diabetic nurse,Hopefully a) a specialist diabetic nurse, b) who knows about diabetes and c) with up to date knowledge.
Knowledge is king.
All the best.
Straight talking grandson . Like JKP, Mrs Miggins reports no discernible change after six weeks - oh well. No Dubai chocolate. Daughter said that it was available in many outlets but wasn’t tempted.Morning all from a sunny but chilly L.A. where my fbg was shown as 4.6 by Libre at 06.54. That may be as good as today gets since I have already taken painkillers and will take Naproxen soon. Whilst it isn't funny, one has to laugh at the three of us wobbling about using walking sticks. As our grandson (a very wise 4 years old) said, at least you're not dead. He also seemed to know why Hovis is called Hovis (attached)His best offering came when his sister showed signs of a cold so Nanny sympathised. Colds aren't nice quoth she. Forthwith her brother said, there's no such thing as a warm that's my boy. @dunelm enjoy the meal and soup later and thank you for sharing the art. JKP tried Fodmap - no use at all so I hope it works/has worked better for Mrs Miggins. Did TGIB bring back any real Dubai chocolate or is that trend over now? I assumed the wine quip was humorous but humour doesn't always travel well in these posts. Y'all enjoy your Thursday now. Congratulations and hugs to all needing them.
@ianpspurs Thank you IanMorning all on a grey start here in L.A. Fbg was 4.6., no trick but a treat after some higher readings yesterday. Slightly more mobile today but I will have more idea of the state of play by evening. @gennepher hug for the falls and palaver with the bank. @Annb I hope you managed some sleep after all that baking. I hope you can all manage to find some good in the day.
Terrific stuff, @alf_JosiahAfternoon Ladies and Gentlemen.
Today has been a landmark day for me.
Not only have I been able to wear ordinary trousers, instead of tracksuit bottoms, but I found a pair of shoes that I have been able to wear instead of carpet slippers. It’s been about 6 months since I was able to wear ordinary shoes and trousers.
I have been out most of the day and unfortunately only skimmed through today’s posts, but I wish you all well and good luck where needed.
Congratulations @alf_Josiah. Make the most of being able to get out and about before the winter sets in. Or, of course, maybe you don't mind being out in bad weather. In which case, enjoy!Afternoon Ladies and Gentlemen.

What a fun read but we have been making a not for diluting cordial out of elderflowers since before Stonehenge began following the hairstyle of President Pumpkin Mr P-B. You need to get out more from under all that tweed.Morning all from a sunny L.A. on All Saints Day 2025 where my fbg was 5.4. Although higher than usual that is "a result" after last evening's fish and chips. Large piece of cod in batter and a desultory scattering of chips plus some garlic mushrooms in breadcrumbs. The intern seems to have missed the garlic from those. Earlier I read an article linking Tom Parker-Bowles' cordial range, Bazball and Colonialism - genius. Enjoy your Saturday, mine will contain much watching of sport and tea drinking.
