What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Good morning to you all. It was supposed to be the first group walk of the year this morning but at minus 7 and local roads hazardous it looks like a stopper- inner. Today is the anniversary of losing my dear dad, so I'm trying hard to blank out those disturbing flashbacks. Tomorrow is my birthday and I'm not expecting any visitors so I'm hoping the weather allows our walk then we can meet up with "walking" friends. I feel blessed that we have a safe, warm home with lovely winter views over our garden to lift our spirits. Stay warm and safe everyone. :)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY @dogslife. Hope it's a good day for you, whatever the weather turns out to be.

A tad concerned, and I can't search her posts due to restrictions made.

But does anyone know if @gennepher was off away somewhere...?

Last post I see if dated Christmas day

And on that note, is @dunelm away & offline in France ?
I've been trying to get in touch with Gennepher but the site won't let me. I know she was disheartened and said she wouldn't post because of problems with loading her pictures and, since Christmas, she seems to have cut off communications.

Dunelm, I think, went to France to visit his mother. Not sure when he is due back.

Cheers @Annb

I hope it's simply that

And I had guessed @dunelm might be on tour..

Very kind of you to post back :)

You are too, too kind dear sir. I do know of that film as my SIL had Always look on the bright side of life played as the recession music at her funeral. There were actually several "movies" shown chez nous during "the holidays" as Mil and our grandchildren find them entertaining - not necessarily the same ones. One mum doesn't like them seeing Harry Potter, LOTR or war films. These days the grandchildren don't drop off so I can't tell them they missed the film as sympathetically as possible. One of the girls knows all the words to KPop Demon Hunters, songs at least - I nearly do now. One in particular is quite catchy. MIL is easier :angelic:

Good afternoon all. Happy New Year. Probably missed loads but been a bit preoccupied.
Spent some time in Berlin and then some trips to see friends and family including spending some time in France with my mother. Back just in time to be swamped by laugher, mirth and merriment from the grandchildren and solo great grandson over Christmas. With all that I took some time away from the interweb until 12th night.
Two things this week; I bought a new sponge to replace the one that had just decided to shuffle off its mortal coil (I do like a real sponge and not some oil based synthetic thing). Then, rediscovered the lovely Seiko kinetic watch that Mrs Miggins got me for my birthday 30 years ago - so off with that nosey fitbit and back to something that just tells me the time.
I hope that you are all as well as you can be and have had a smashing festive time.
Not much art apart from with the grandchildren and I can’t get things to load on this site anyhow.
These are the good days!

Good afternoon all.

I have been left alone having an afternoon nap while Mrs J prepares a mince dish. There will be enough mince for 2 days meals.

Whoops: I wood like to say sorry for breaking the rools, but that would cause internal conflict and be divisive therefore I shall accept the edit, not throw my toys out of the pram or storm off in a hissy fit. I will however not bark at the postman, but invite him in for a koffy and bacon sarnie, I know he likes them.

Can't imagine what you did in your last life to deserve such eternal torment ...

:hilarious::hilarious:
Must have been bad since the situation is actually worse. All 5 girls know the steps to at least one song as performed on stage in the film, as does my 4 year old grandson and all 3 of my sons. I too was "swamped by laugher, mirth and merriment from the grandchildren" but didn't take"some time away from the interweb until 12th night."

@dunelm good to see you here and good to read you spent time with family and friends as well as embracing the analogue. A real sponge is an interesting red line.

Thank you for the birthday wishes. As expected the first formal group walk of the year was cancelled. We decided to stay home where it was warm rather than go out for a birthday lunch. Maybe we will go for a celebratory meal once the weather improves? So I wasn't expecting to see anyone on my birthday but this evening the doorbell rang and our kind next door neighbours came with a home made rice and chicken meal and a chocolate birthday cake. We quickly made room for the seven of us at our 2 tables and my diabetic restraints went out of the window! It would have been rude otherwise. :angelic: We had a lovely time but I dare not test my blood sugars.:arghh: Best wishes all. Stay warm and safe.:)

On this, Neil's 59th birthday, the snow is melting away here on the Island. It's not warm, but it must be a bit above freezing. Neil doesn't do things like birthdays, Christmas, Easter and so on. Without being an old-fashioned Presbyterian, he acts very much like one. Takes after his Dad, who could never understand my "English" ways of celebrating things (other than New Year, though Neil doesn't celebrate that either).

BG was 7.8 at 04.30 today and is currently in the 9's despite not having any breakfast.
