What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Morning...another early start possibly working in London today so after 7 weeks doing nothing it's all go...spent most of yesterday afternoon/early evening with the heating on I was freezing...no rain (yet) likely waiting for me to step outside the door then whoosh...woke to a 6.1
 
Morning All. 5.8 so back in the zone. The weather seems to lurch from bad to worse and we have storm Lorenzo at the end of the week. Hope everyone who is ill feels better today and everyone out on the roads takes it carefully.

6.5 this morning, which is a pleasant change on yesterday. I forgot to mention that my doc wouldn't book me in for a six month HbAc1. He reckoned that I was managing so well I could go yearly. I was going to argue the point then remembered he does prescribe my testing strips, so I stayed quiet and smiled

Just noticed this thread has hit 500 pages and 10,000 replies since April making it the most popular thread in the section and, based on posts per day, the most popular across many of the sections. That's despite being hidden away and not part of the sites 'new posts' algorithm. You lot are awesome

Challenging times weren't helped by our buyer dropping out just as we were about to exchange contracts after lots of messing about - around the time dx confirmed.
 
7.1 for me

I only had 5 carbs yesterday to hopefully bring the high blood sugars down quickly.

Now, upping to just under 20 carbs today.

This means I can have CHOCOLATE today!!!

Just had lightning streak round my bedroom! Just checked weather app. But no thunder and lightning promised today. Very remiss of the Met Office not to warm me.

In the meantime we have a dark dreary heavy rainy day.

Just seen another white streak!

Maybe aliens are landing...

Yup I am back to my normal...

Happy Hugs for all those that want them or need them. The alien spaceship will come by and drop them off for you....

I don't believe it 6 hours of sleep, I usually only manage 4 hours, not that I feel any more refreshed or it's helped my BG reading of 5.8. So good morning one and all, it's wet and the mist is rolling down off the hill who's top is hidden in low cloud,

A morning gloss painting some radiators, then off to check out how many pay stations there are on a Euro Car Park as they have fined me £100 for parking without a ticket for 20 mins, I could not pay as the Pay Staion was out of order, I looked for another and I am certain there is only one on the car park. There argument is if machines were not working I should have payed at another machine or not parked there.

Folk band rehearsals this afternoon and with the amount of water about I think we shall break out the Sea Shanties so get your sailor outfits on if you fancy some dancing.

Caught up on all the threads over a cup of coffee. There's a lot going on so good wishes to all with busy agendas and things to do, kind thoughts and love to those struggling with all sorts of health issues or worries, encouragement and more good wishes to those setting out on new paths and a thank you for much information that helps us all.

Go carefully be bold.

Oooh you got there before me OBB...it reached just over 500 yesterday & I was just settling into my second coffee before I raised that...congratulations on setting this up it's a such comfortable uplifting thread...time for a quick hello...a good whinge or the need for some support/advice it's all here...what a shame it is 'buried' on a sub thread I'm sure other members would be inspired by many of the posts here...is there anything we can do about that?

Guess it is officially autumn now and heating is allowed - oh joy Sincere thanks for all the kind comments and sentiments. Thanks to all the unknown scientists, engineers and technicians who developed the equipment and chemicals which have been used to help me and thousands of others. Fbg was 6.2 today so abject failure and gouty Mcgoutface still hanging around like the smell of fried fish. Almost impossible just now to convince my family LC isn't mad, bad, dangerous to know, definitely the source of the gout and almost all the world's ills. Objectively, I currently have no case to argue against them. I need a "win" to bolster my case and reassure myself if I'm honest. Best perspective I have read on Johnson and Trump etc came in Zechariah 11.4 to the end (today's OT snippet). Enjoy your day.

I had a the same issue two days running when I was in Ilford MC...so I took photographs of the display message on both machines which were out of order...needless to say they had to 'tuck' those tickets back in their 'folders' I'd argue the point might be worth checking the instructions they give when the machine cannot issue a ticket...if the rule is not to park in that instance they should be advising customers accordingly...if not then they need to accept the tickets were issued wrongly...give it a go you have nothing to lose.
 

Nothing will be done, the sites focus is on diabetes data which is reflected in the threads that are allowed to be seen on the forum updates. I understand that, and although I baulked at the mods about it at the 'get go' there isn't anything to be done.

Even though a large portion of the thread involves diabetes discussion and FBG I doubt we could get a promotion. The mods don't even bother to journey this far down the rabbit hole

A rather sprightly 7.2 for me and me's this morning. My meter is still sulking behind the kettle and my hammer is still near it. I don't condone violence, but .....

It is my understanding that this thread is read, discreetly monitored and some of the posters are on a bad boy and girl list. Complaints have been made and in all probability will be made in the future, but in the big scheme of things does it really matter.
I don't think so or care really.
I will say this.
This thread and it's previous version have helped me understand my diabetic or lack of control.
