What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Thanks. I will check it out. It sounds really interesting. I have never heard a Cornish choir, I love listening to Welsh choirs.
I don't know if this is technically a sea shanty or not -- one of my earliest memories as a very young child is of my mother singing "Sailing, Sailing, Over the Bounding Main" as she gave us our baths.
Meanwhile my father could often be heard (not at the same time!) singing one of his favorite songs, "Red Sails in the Sunset."

Oddly, neither one of my parents loved the sea ... if it had to skip a generation I'm glad it didn't skip mine.

It's our happy chatty place with a generous serving of support when needed.

If that alien spaceship comes within dropping-off distance I am going to stick out my thumb in hopes they will take me on board. I could use a nice long vacation on Saturn right now -- I hear it's cold out there and I could use a break from the heat.
Lightning flashes here too the past two nights but nary a drop of rain. The KittenCat was happy she did not have to go take shelter in the closet, but I wanted a good soaking rain.

4.9 today. Happy.

Busy day today. Took BIL to his DN. Today I was going armed with my 4 page leaflet. Plan was to thrust it at her as I made a sharp exit dragging BIL behind me. First I listened intently to what she had to say. Was really just an interim to check BP, weight etc.

My BIL has told me he doesnt like my low carb cooking! I'm not doing him so many dinners now as he was leaving them! So I've asked him to save all shopping receipts (he wont let me shop for him). On them is pasta, rice and potato ready made dishes, sweetcorn, and lots of other undesirables including PUKA PIES!!! . His hba1c has come down from 95 to 56 but mainly due to metformin I suspect. (When I test him his bs quite high tbh). Although he loves my omelettes so he gets a fair few. It helps I'm sure. It's a worry. My BIL has special needs so I have to tread carefully. He can get a bit prickly. So I prompted the DN re buying in the right foods. If he hears it from her jobs a good un. Her suggestions were shepherd pie with lots of extra veg. Lots of fruit including grapes. I said 'what about sweetcorn' another item on his receipt 'no problem just try and spread tin over 2 days'. She told him to look for tins of food 'in water not brine, best in water due to the salt in brine'. I honestly give up. Eatwell plate there in all its glory on the wall for me to shake my head at.

I thrust my leaflet as I left the building giving her a brief outline on what i do. I left my telephone number but somehow doubt I will hear anything.

Anyway the afternoon was spent painting at renovation project. Managed to bring son on board and hubby. Poor hubby. Had rave music in one ear and dr jason fung and intermittent fasting in the other. Never even complained. Saint Eric I call him!

Wonder why it isnt part of the new posts? It should be.

Moving home is stressful enough without sales falling through! Did it mean you had to pull out of the one you wanted!!!

As per our thread, I have to agree to it's usefulness, @OldButBold

The idea of simply posting a number, to my mind just makes it a numbers game at best, and at worst a competition to post the lowest number possible that just leaves others feeling a failure if they can't match it for various reasons.

I know @Cumberland & @karen8967 , among others, if they post an enviable 4, while i do well to post in the low 5's...I know, thanks to the context you speak of, that that score may be too low for them to be comfortable., so it's a 'hug' rather then a 'Winner'

For myself, I've explained I no longer stress as the 4's do seem beyond me at the moment, so the mid 5's / low 6's are a win for me..

Plus, as you rightly point out, when the BG IS higher, but an explanation IS proffered. I think THAT helps the poster, to be aware of the consequences after THAT particular stimuli.. AND also gives a pointer to other readers.

So all in all, a veritable treasure trove of information, when you include some of the links presented, and all offered in a "coffee morning / Water cooler" relaxed conversational type of fashion.

For me, it's an almost essential part of my day, to at least drop in and see how your all doing, even if I don't post every visit.

And as for being Main Page...mmhh

While we lose the Footprint for new visitors, I quite like the fact we ARE a little more low profile.
As since my privacy scare, and I have, as I was humorously advised to, got over my delusions the world has designated me an "International Man of Mystery"..

However I do still baulk at our every word being hawked around other websites without our knowledge.

The forum benefits outweigh those concerns, but I do still want some tiny corner where I can be open to some, without the fear my post will be picked over by some unknown keyboard warrior on another nameless site.

So it's a "yeah it's bad.. But it does have its good points" type of feeling.

So cheers @OldButBold & all you lovely e-friends on here, for just making THIS thread so warm, carrying and inviting, every visit...

Ps, to stay on topic, I was 6.7 at 7am.. Was it that late night beer?.. or the cheeky pudding of low cal jelly, cream & strawberries at 9,pm ?... Who knows.

Take care all,
Sleep well until we will meet in the morning.

Does that mean we can swear and get away with it? Shall we do a test!!!

Bit of both I expect. A little if what you fancy does you good!

My reading on libre fbs are in the late 4s but finger prick higher. Sticking with CGM while I can afford!!! Love it on all levels.

Also love this thread. Hate it when I get behind! Prefer to read in real time but sometimes life gets in the way.

Good morning. After Sunday nights sleep of 6 hours I'm back to the 4 hour pattern, so seems it was just a one off.

5.6 for me at 5 am and 9 hours fast, will wait until 8am before breakfast to ensure I fast 12 hours and see what my BG reading is then.

Although it's simple mathematics, 50 test strips in a pot, purchase 100 at a time, test 6 to 8 times a day with some extra strips used when my fingers are not being generous, I am constantly surprised how fast I run out and have to reorder.

Weatherman is promising sunshine so off for a Mountain Bike Ride after breakfast, could be a tad muddy.

Enjoy your day everyone.
