What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)


You are a very resourceful person Gennepher. The little adapted baby jacket sounds great. I’m hopeless at that sort of thing but I’m going to have to come up with some sort of solution. They say you can tell the season in Cornwall by the temperature of the rain!
 
Morning...wide awake at 05:30am a pit stop then went back to bed irritated because I couldn't seem to get back to sleep...or so I thought...decided to give up & get up and to my astonishment it was 07:30...no idea if it is going to rain as heavily as predicted I expect as soon as I walk out the door the deluge will begin ( I love to be positive about these things)...breakfast done but more coffee needed then a housework blitz... more internet shopping for Charlie & Lola's arrival...woke to a 6.4
 
Take a look at the Barbour dog coats.. many years ago we bought one for Oscar who I am looking after and I have to say it has done him proud and kept him dry and warm through all weathers. That must be about 8 years or more. It is well worn. Oz is a Westie and will be 18 in January very feeble now but still going

It really was a fabulous thick piece of cod. I dont find it easy to manage my meals as a house guest though tonight I have brought my own microwave Chicken Shaslik from W which I will have with green veg. Its ampierce and ping night due to Strictly!
I bet you are ordering loads of lovely things for Charlie and Lola lol. Easy to do!
 
I am not a regular fish eater PM...I don't enjoy it very much but a piece of battered cod from the fish shop is something I find difficult nigh impossible to resist...I am calling a halt shopping for Charlie & Lola otherwise we'll run out of room...plus there are the 'gifts' from family members to accommodate too!
 

Your last sentence made me smile. How much of the shopping for C&L is essential stuff, and how much is just because ‘they’ll love this’? I spent a small fortune on toys and lovely things for Dennis. He has 3 beds, but obviously prefers to curl up on an old cushion!
 

Funny you should mention the Barbour coat. As I was typing I was wondering where I’d put the one our previous dog Tilly had. You’re right they are great, I think D is about the same size now as Tilly was so I need to start turning out cupboards. I know I wouldn’t have thrown it out.
Oz sounds good company for a wet Saturday. 18 is a very impressive age - he must be a very contented old boy.
 
I have to confess you have me there DJC...I have a gorgeous wicker basket to pick them up in just had to stop myself buying another...a pink & blue modern cat carrier with all mod cons...fortunately I managed to stop myself & will make sure restraint is exercised...but we are getting so excited it's difficult...how is little Dennis?

Restraint goes out of the window at a time like this, I can completely understand that. You still have 2 weeks to go don’t you? so I suspect your house is going to be bursting at the seams by 12/11!!
D is going stir crazy in his 3rd week of wearing a cone. We’ve had to give up on the babygro as it was causing his soft long puppy fur to get very matted. The vet clipped his beard off so he looks a chinless wonder now. He’s going to have to go straight to the groomers next week though as the mats are growing in his chest and legs. He’ll look like one of those Chinese Crested dogs for a bit I think.

He'll still be a gorgeous boy DJC...odd how empty the house has been since Churchill 'went' despite lots of visitors I was'nt very hopeful when we went to Wood Green Animal Charity...they tell you little about the animals on their web site...no idea kittens were still available...when chatting to the advisor I said 'my house needs a cat...we need a cat & a cat needs a good home' I said I would love two but realised it would be difficult to have two adults unless they were bonded then she told me about the kittens...very impressed with them...I think you and his other human need to get in training for next week when the collar is finally off.

Animals really do make a home don’t they? Hope 12th comes quickly for you, can’t wait to see more photos.

@DJC3 I am so sorry to read about your flooded kitchen. I remember reading about it last year -- there should be a ban on this sort of groundhog!
Best wishes to Dennis too, and patience to put up with that e-collar a while longer. A vet put one on my old cat Sascha years ago -- poor kitty could not eat or drink because the collar had not been cut down to size. The vet tech said "Oh he will get used to it" -- how do you get used to something that sticks out so far in from of your face you cannot get at food or water?
I do kind of like these two models, though --
