What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Goodness MC that was a happy escape. Better a sore wallet than head and lucky no bones were broken. Hope you and Mrs MC have a quiet rest of day.

I'm all fine just a few aches round neck and shoulders and thank you for your concerns @ianpspurs @PenguinMum and @dunelm (didn't recognise you for a moment) and I agree regarding helmets in the 19 years I have been doing this crazy sport I never have purchased cheap helmets or clothing like you say just not worth it. @ianpspurs you asked about concussion protocol, well I am outdoor sport first aid trained but I have to say on the two day course on a high peak moor in a howling gale all my practical tests saw the demise of my casualties ( according to the instructor not actual demise) however I still passed so I lay on the floor waited until the pounding in my head had gone, carefully moved each limb to check for broken bones, called myself a few unmentionable adjectives and cycled home, that's about as good as it gets

Thank you, @PenguinMum .

The laundry room is sometimes unfriendly but at all times it's small. Cramped, a very tight squeeze to bend over to load and unload. Two washers and two dryers in each room and two rooms in my building. We got 'new' washers and dryers last year and never know if the dryers will heat up or not, or whether the previous customer used too much soap so I have to pay for two cycles to rinse out their leftover suds as well as my own. They are called high efficiency but like all HE appliances they use half the water of normal washers and do Half as Efficient a job.
Admittedly I've developed a complex about doing laundry that I need to get over. But right now I have both dryers going, they will be done in 11 minutes and the KittenCat will have lovely hot towels and clothes to snuggle in! Win!

Goodness gracious, @Muddy Cyclist !
I'm glad you're OK and knew what to do. The same rule applies to horse riding helmets. I'm glad you're able to replace yours.

I remember one All Saints Sunday. It was my friend Leslie's birthday, or would have been had she not died some 10 years earlier. She was the friend who, thanks to her experience with cats, helped me convert to cats.
On that particular All Saints Sunday I sort of wanted to go to church to sing "For All the Saints," but I really didn't know anyone at the local church that had the good pipe organ and choir. And my friend Molly was going to adopt a part-Siamese cat. It was only a few months after her beloved Meezer had died.
So I went with Molly to see the rescue kitty, to honor our friendship and my friendship with another cat friend, Leslie, whose birthday it was.
And now I'm happily sitting in the comfort of my own home, with my KittenCat asleep on the warm clean T-shirts, about to watch the processional of the online, live All Saints Sunday service from a local church here that has a good pipe organ to which I used to sing in the choir; I can sing along today. I still know all 8 verses.

Wow. The celebrant has a very fine new chasuble.

Cool. Sung. That was fun.

I am not long back from thr All Souls seevice which as in a tiny church in the fields 5 mins drive from me. It doesnt have electricity so we are lit by candles and it is cold but brings me closer to my departed mum, MIL who was one of my most real friends and FIL than anything. Shed a few tears as usual but in a real atmosphere.

Just catching up on 4 days posts. This upset me. I know what you have been through in the past. Now this. Out of the blue! Gutted for you. And the forum down too!

House renovation finished. On market this week. Catching up on a few jobs (neglected my own house!) Then I'm full on with the diabetes battle. Still got to reply to DUK but want to take time with that so not rushing. Work in progress as to which direction to go re testing strips and lchf advice complaint but that will get sorted over next couple.of weeks. Diabetes month so a great time to take action. And much more....but will have lots of time until my next project. You are so lovely. Such fab people on this thread. Miss them when I get behind.

Why the fast Deb. Always trying to work out IF. If I should be doing it.

Why the fast Deb. Always trying to work out IF. If I should be doing it.

My bg has been up in the 6s a fair bit recently and I discovered I’d put on a couple of kilos in the last month or so. The IF is just an attempt at a quick fix to bring things back into my comfort zone. I don’t think I could manage long term.
You’re doing brilliantly though - your numbers are consistently good so if it ain’t broke don’t fix it I’d say. Do you think the Libre has helped you get control?

4.7 this morning and I’m packing for a couple of days in Harrogate with some old friends. 4 of us shared a flat together when we first went to college back in the 70s. We have a city break together once a year to catch up on each others lives and let our hair down. I know they all want to go to Betty’s tea rooms while we are there, haven’t decided how I’ll approach that minefield yet. I don’t want to be a killjoy and I’m quite happy to sit with a coffee while they have cake but I don’t want to make them feel awkward about it. We’ll see.
Have a great week.

Morning All. 6.0 at 06.00 so so. Usual Monday clear up on the agenda and some washing might fit in trip to the shops. Tons of leaves down over weekend so thats another job. @DJC3 hope you enjoy your reunion with friends. If you do the tea shop maybe you could sneak in one of the LC bars or snacks. I have heard Harrogate is lovely. Bit of a journey from you though is it possible by train?
Hope you all have a marvellous Monday. Stay well, stay safe.

Morning all. @DJC3 good start to the week and enjoy Harrogate - (I was underwhelmed); @OldButBold enjoy your busy day; @PenguinMum clearing up and raking leaves ( don't ya just leave 'em for mulch?)- you must have been a bad, bad gal in a previous life. @Muddy Cyclist nice start and sentiment there; @trick60 just a blip in a solid run of readings, 5.7 for me today - no spin doctor can sell that one or the dismay 2 extra kgs since May makes. If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster And treat those two impostors just the same; - guess I'm not a man Ruddy baby. Enjoy your day - Monday is the day nursey flushes me plumbing. Suddenly feels a bit Isaiah 1.1-20 ish since the rugby and that man dissembling when he deigns to appear. Another view of how events may unfold can be found here Matthew 1.18-end (but we have badly miscast the lead role IMHO)
