Morning All. 6.8 so not happy, did that small Blackcurrant yogurt tub really spoil it! Crazy. Good job I didnt have cake
Lots of news this morning. Re dogs I am very nervous around dogs I dont know. I hate when their owners think its ok for them to jump up on you if not injuring you or knocking you over then leaving muddy pawprints down your front. Speaking of which there are mostly pensioners living around me and someone’s bulldog bit a old boy recently and it was prosecuted and went to Court. Dog returned home and within days had jumped on an elderly lady just walking by the house scratching her thighs and frightening her. Police were informed but the lady didnt want to make trouble with her neighbour so let it go. The owner is just defensive and folks are just making a big fuss. None of us will walk past their house any more which is the route to the post box. Not right.
@SaskiaKC glad the ordeal is over for the KC and hopefully the bump will be nothing bad. @gennepher great to hear from you and wishing you all the best in your quest. @jjraak good to hear from you too and there’s only one Jack Lord lol not that I am likely to be seeing him a nytime soon @DJC3 great result after night out with the girls hope there was gin involved. @HarryBeau made me laugh but I am sure you are very presentable enjoy the walk with Plumpy.

I mentioned in earlier post Follow The Dog one of the trails I ride twice a week on Cannock Chase for anyone interested here is what it is like, clip a bit long but you can skip through it...

@DJC3 I spend a lot of time training my dogs when puppies, I suppose a life of being self employed gave me the luxury to spend the time doing so. Never used training schools as dogs learn to behave when at them but don't when they leave. It's a constant focus and consistency but we never had terriers always Labs, Retrievers and a one off English Setter, when I did a lot of road cycling I would carry the pups in canvas bags on the handle bars to and from my office, when I started Mountain Biking I would take them with me for the exercise they learnt to run in front of me and not stop on the fast technical single track and would obey Close when on bridleways and run along side, yes lots of training but always fun. Interestingly we have a local Forestry Commission built single track trail called Follow The Dog. Sadly my Lab is now too old to keep up.

I was shocked @Muddy Cyclist when I took my last Hearing Dog for the Deaf for a walk in the ancient woodlands near me, and all the way along this beautiful arched faerie like pathway, was hanging plastic bags of every size and description with dog poo in them. Some had been slung high in the old oak trees. There were dog poo bins either end of this pathway....
Surely they were not expecting the park wardens to go searching for these 'decorations'? Or for the rangers to walk around with a set of ladders and an extender gripper?

'morning all. 8.2 for me today. Sedentary day yesterday, writing birthday cards, ordering presents for birthdays and Christmas on line and playing forum games on here. Visited mum but she was asleep most of the time. Had two more bereavements since last week, one family and one old friend. Not been a good year for us! Good news is that I've finished all my Christmas shopping for the youngsters in the family and birthday presents/ cards for the rest of this year. Next job is to write to mum's old friends who send cards to her every Christmas to tell them she is now in care. Luckily I found mum's address book whilst clearing her home! The sun is trying it's best to shine through the clouds so a walk is on the cards-- always good for body and mind especially as the autumn colours are lovely at the moment. Have a good day folks.

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen and all who don't feel the need to have pets.
There that should annoy those without a sense of humour gland and animal rights zealots.
A young fresh faced 7.2 for me this morning, I shouldn't go eating nuts in the evening ( hmmm might be a song in there, somewhere ).

Well folks my morning is planned, the gp's for my annual checkup and blood letting,
I get my feet tickled, knees knocked, eyes looked into, verbal examination, fill that container up " what from here " weighed and not last at all, the phrase why are you here, you should be at the hospital. It's funny really because they offered me a follow up appointment in a couple of weeks with a gp I have named Dr Death ( with good reason ).
Anyway folks enough of my rambling have a good day, smile sweetly, break wind silently and in the words of that much missed comedian Dave Allen " May YOUR god go with you " .

Liked that, but the phrase " you must be mad " popped into my mind, but I can't talk I flew hang gliders.

A lady I chat with at the cafe did the 'Go Ape' segway at Cannock with her family, said it was a great experience. her son is autistic and the staff there really went out of their way to make sure he had a great time.

Thanks @OldButBold there are much older guys than me doing it and they don't hang around, I guess I have always been an adrenaline junky but I am getting more aware and nervous about the dangers, but whilst I can I will.

The Cannock Chase area offers so much to its many visitors although the powers that be, SACC organisation, Natural England and the Protection of Bird people are trying to curtail visitors in the name of Protecting the Flora and Fawna a battle is being faught but I think it will be lost against such organisations.

5.7 for me this morning was hoping for a repeat of yesterday but it's still in the 5's

Yes, stay safe. If you have pets, keep them safe also. Our younger grandchildren will be wearing ear muffs and staying indoors.

So not jumping out of things then? Something I did when younger - a bit like free abseiling but carrying a heavy weight.

All I can say is.."that plane better be on fire"
Jumping out if anything at 10 thousand feet.. Madness.

Why not wait like I will, until 8 feet from the ground.....THEN jump...

I reckon I can jump 8 feet.. Minimal damage..

Kudos for the jumps though.

Don't mind heights, but not keen on being airborne, I have a great affinity with gravity.

Had a really good low carb day with readings hardly climbing above 5 - even after meals. So a bit disappointed with a 6.5 this morning. Of course I should be really happy with the 5s all day yesterday - which of course I am.

Had a lovely lunch out - Tender chicken breast topped with a slice of bacon and melted cheddar cheese and a green salad.

Doggies are at the moment chasing each other around the house as though they are 2 year olds. The joint supplement really does work for them. @SaskiaKC gave me a link to the human version of the supplement and I have bought some for husband as he hurt his hip (the replacement side) going on a zip wire with grandchildren. Watching the dogs chasing each other has made me a bit worried that husband will feel so well that we may have more zip wire (or similar) incidents.
