Good morning everyone and those other folk also.
The wonder wheel a day less ordinary and a menu most carniviour dug out a tantalizing 4.5 this am
It’s Remembrance Day today. Mrs Miggins and I will be on parade at our town senetaph.
Lest we forget.
Have a great day.
Welcome to this corner of the forum. Not sure I am supposed to post here
Yes, same here. Always on 11th November but we have our parade on the nearest Sunday. This one with be the 100th (first in 1919). I have a couple of friends who live in LA and they will be doing similar. We joined the army together in 1968, some of our comrades didn’t make it.Tomorrow here will be Veterans Day, formerly known as Armistice Day.
We are close to The National Arboretum where there is a monument with the names of all those who lost their lives since and a slit In The wall where on the 11 hour of the 11th day of the 11th month a beam of sunlight shines through the slit onto the monument. The most upsetting part of the monument is the many blank walls waiting for names to be carved on them.Tomorrow here will be Veterans Day, formerly known as Armistice Day.
Mine too. He was in the signals at the Somme and amazingly survived. I trained Gurkurs for 10 years many who were in the signal unit and they used to tell me he was a very lucky man, not many in the signal unit survived the Somme, it was a very dangerous business laying communication cables. Grandad would never speak about it to any of his family.didn't come back from WW1 but my maternal grandfather did
Glad the video helped and you enjoy the fruit. I wasn't sure about the knowledge base of the presenter and the pearl clutchers come out in hives about fruit so I have not tried yet (still working the morning exercise back into my routine). Berries, Greek yogurt, inulin and flaxseed was how I started this journey. I couldn't do flaked almonds though - almond milk and a very few whole ones are my limit.Today my fbs should be in the high 6s because of my late meal out - as I predicted it would be when I posted here yesterday.
My meter decided to prove me wrong with a rather unexpected 5.3. Am not complaining though - just a little surprised.
We had a lovely meal out with our friends. Had a lovely homemade beefburger topped with bacon and melted cheese with a small green salad. It wasn't a huge portion and was absolutely delicious.
I never have a desert but when husband's cheesecake came it was topped with blackberries. So I asked if I could have a very small dish of BlackBerries and poured a little bit of my cream for my coffee over them. They were absolutely delicious and they didn't spike my BS at all.
@ianpspurs the clip you posted on fruits that are keto really made me think again about fruit. So thank you for it. Have chosen blackberries and raspberries as the least sweet of all fruit and now add then to my morning kefir, ground flaxseeds, inulin, Greek yogurt and flaked almonds for breakfast.
They really increase the enjoyment of my breakfast significantly but not the carb content.. After watching the clip I haven't properly defrosted them and they are rather nice still frozen.
I must admit that I chose blackberries and raspberries as the least likely to spike and they definitely don't spike - and strangely after meal readings are a little lower if I eat them with a meal. How each of us react differently to different foods is so fascinating. Someone else might get completely different results.Glad the video helped and you enjoy the fruit. Unwin's n=1 law really does seem to apply.I must admit that I chose blackberries and raspberries as the least likely to spike and they definitely don't spike - and strangely after meal readings are a little lower if I eat them with a meal. You can post anything in this thread. Full on chat. You've heard it all before anyway Haha. Not sure I am supposed to post here. I had been aiming to take a day off work to pass through at the tower but sadly it won’t be possible. Thanks for posting the info graph, btw.
