What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

I am relying on plain soap and water which works much better than hand gels. I do have some wipes in my coat pocket. Similarly I am upping my vitamin C intake - I already have other vitamins and minerals. Still going out but am mindful of distance. Bottom line is that most folk will end up getting it. Droplets have a habit of drifting about in the breeze.
Thanks for the prod about leaving things for people, Must promise all these loo rolls to offspring and get entered into my will.
Totally agree about the droplets being carried. Have you ever noted how far cigarette smoke will spread, I know that droplets are different but look what they say about a simple flush of the toilet.

I was going to do a de clutter to get things in order as a just in case, but opened my cabinet drawer and closed it quickly again. Thought... What the heck, so long as they all know where the jewels are that's all they will be interested in. Now where did I put all those jewels....hmm

Soap & water is preferable however I am often in closed custody suites where there are no hand washing facilities...so I am armed with anti-bacterial wipes & hand sanitisers...I have no idea if the authorities are testing those that go into custody but I'm doing as much as I can to improve my chances of keeping well.

5.4 today, another busy day ahead helping daughter. And trying to cram everything in due to possible imminent lockdown. Ensuring social distancing as much as possible. Cancelled a meal out with girlfriends last night. 9 of us booked in an Italian restaurant but we all felt the same.

Absolutely fizzing about the SACN report. I'm not alone on this.

Hopefully we can all do our bit (deadline 30th April) to make change happen and give feedback. We need as many as possible from this forum and as many others to come together to dispute ludicrous findings as per article. Absolutely gutted that nobody is listening to us. Devastating.
Do you think they may be fearful to acknowledge they have been advocating the wrong diet for more than a generation? May open the door to lots of litigation.

May open the door to lots of litigation.
Very doubtful there would be any civil cause of action against two such powerful agencies i.e. the NHS & Diabetes UK...SACN commissioned the report DUK selected those to participate so it was in my view set up to fail form the outset...no doubt by the time it is admitted how poorly served T2's were/are those responsible will be long retired or deceased but we'll get an apology & the same trite old nonsense 'it's a learning curve'

Good luck with that.

5.3 today so happy with that.

Helping daughter decorate her house so very busy trying to get that nice before they go on holiday. Lanzarote Wednesday. Can't say I'm happy about the decision to fly but she is a young adult and I can no.longer tell her what she can and cant do :-(

Apart from that I'm just watching the news! All bad. That said, I'm on Twitter and they are in lockdown but still managing flashmobs! Wonderful to see them all come together in times of such adversity.

This is one of many:

We are still due to go on holiday on 3rd April to Spain, supposed to be flying to Barcelona. This was the family holiday to provide good memories for the grandkids, both sons, wives and families Hubby and myself and local DILs mum and dad. We are keeping a watching brief at present. Uneasy as rest of family still want to go. Tried to phone my No 1(lives away) son the other day to find out he is currently in France with work. Knew he was supposed to go but assumed it would have been postponed.

Poland is closing it’s borders tonight and UK Govt website on travel is updated daily. Page on Spain has advice about some regions to stay away from at present https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/spain

am i looking at the right thing

pound store..hand gel pre C19..99p x3 £2.97
here hand gel post C19..x3 £35.....:woot:.

mind you when you can't get any..

and why ISN'T that a government thing RIGHT now to Up the production and
get this into stores at prev cost or FREE ?

isn't this a health emergency..when will we see production ramped up to cope...mmhh
I know...but I havent seen any anywhere and might need to drink the stash of vodka if locked in gin runs out :shifty: @HarryBeau did well getting some on amazon..I got fed up trying. How many times has Matt Hancock said our supermarkets will feed the nation and have plans afoot...they couldnt even figure out how to ration toilet rolls let alone provide sanitising gel. Does anyone know if its made in the UK and if so are they all on cruises? It seems GP surgeries have run out. @dunelm soap and water fine if in my house but out? Have you seen some of the facilities, on the other hand maybe they are the best chance to take CV on.
Its a crazy world atm.

Courts are not closed environments plenty of toilets & cloakrooms about.
Wasn't suggesting they were, @HarryBeau ..just that in the circumstances you would think it might be allowed, perhaps.
But rules is rules..i suppose
Not too sure what the greater threat is at the moment, terrorist, Covid or the rigidity of peoples thinking

for example..Sainbury's are stopping all sampling of food stuffs as it might be unwise due to the Covid pandemic.

BUT due to the unbelievably complicated nature of stopping some one with a plate of cheese,
offering samples to shoppers
(sure if you google it's on the website why this takes so long)

wheels have been put in motion and this process will be completed by Monday at the earliest.

be moot anyway by the end of next week on the courts front maybe,
first few sick with this, and, those working won't want to come in to work, anyway..
Regardless of Bojo and the curve, they'll all try to be Europeans during this pandemic

Woke As usual at 7am, bit my fell asleep again. MrSlims alarm woke us both @
8.30AM. FBG 6.9 AM thinking this is from unintentional very late dinner last night.
Now have to try and balance the work rate v FBG. Lighter evenings means MrSlim works longer. Lots to do still. Actually impossible amount to finish in time. 2 hours extra work a day... that would help. Must keep trying to get him up earlier. Move the workday forward would help a lot. Today painting bedroom 1 walls. We decided yesterday the colour was too dark, it's now diluted with 50% white. Not sure we will get two coats on today but hoping to.
Have a good weekend folks do some relaxing for me.

Hug and optimism for the painting; another hug for the nice read about something other than coronavirus.

Oh 100% agree...

AND this didn't just HAPPEN..we had eyes , or at least i hope to god someone in authority had eyes on the start of this on china.
i expect someone even sat and watched it day by day, like some of us did.
hardly a stretch to think..mmhh lets just stock up a few things, talk to the supermarkets just in case, and have a plan to ration stuff, just inc case..you know, something like,.."Oh chris your our science bod, in a pandemic what goes first ?
oh. masks, hand sanitisers, really ? ok put them on the list of protected items some one, lets stock up just in case )

like every other disaster ..EVER, people panic and buy the products they think MIGHT help them or might be useful to survive the Power cuts/tornado/covid..whatever in the best shape possible..
WHY did no one in office, PUT that plan into place asap, once we rung the alarm bells.. ?

Sure Ours didn't for various reasons we'll hear after this is all over, but my guess, .....
t2206.gif
..on the job

so for now, we are on our own here, sadly

Not sure the Gov't is in control of this shutdown anymore.

Good morning/afternoon, everyone. :)
7.5 for me this morning, which may be indicative of what I ate yesterday, or of the waning moon, or of the sun shining on the plateglass building on the horizon.
It's nice to see that the sun is shining and that a manmade building can reflect its light on the horizon.
It's the western horizon, and our prevailing winds here come out of the west, so hopefully the sun's reflection shining on the horizon means good things are coming our way, heading east.
After all, there are moments in the day
when the sun shines on the US and the UK.

On a lighter note.. Mate is moaning about all this covid thing.
