What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Yes I do the same when I am on my exercise bike - I visualise I am riding it in the Loire Valley or Northumberland. Much more interesting than my living room.
I have found that there are numerous virtual bike rides you can find on youtube, so set up the computer in front of bike, ride through mountains, along sea fronts in Spain at 30 degs C which at the moment is really good for the mind. You could try this for starters :-https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mOPikFlIzp4&list=RDCMUCVbBtdw-_SCqGDs6-_awaDg&index=1

Hi Folks
Is it just me, or is anyone else getting fed up with constant yellow weather warnings? Of course we all would like sunny weather but I'm talking about the Nanny state. My marine weather forecast predicts 14mm of rain overnight, half an inch in old money. OK, it's going to rain. But do I really need a Government warning?
Normally I would have a glass of wine to toast Neptune and not be Mr Grumpy.

It all depends on where you live and if your area is prone to flooding in some places they will be moving their stuff upstairs.

Hi there @Krystyna23040
Is that 5.4 MMOL or A1C? My nephew has Type 1 and in Canada they use A1C% units, meaning that 7.0 here is fine, but there in A1C it's bad news. Not a criticism of you. It is a general problem on this site, the absence of units.
Hi @True Blue - it is 5.4 mmol. It is confusing that different countries use different types of units to measure blood sugars.

Morning all on a dreary start to Saturday on the border of The Brecks and Fens with a side of Uncle Sam's finest. Unknown fbg but since I don't do regime change I won’t sweat the small stuff. @Annb how typically thoughtful of you to consider both the health and wealth of your cleaner - don’t neglect your own. @JohnEGreen great fbg and good idea to buy the teasmade. @gennepher hug for the cold but good that the hot toddy was helpful. @Krystyna23040 great fbg, thoughtful to warm up the venue and I'm sure Poppy will be the star of the show. @dunelm lovely insight into a busy start with those grandchildren. Thanks for sharing your art - what are those tall things? :D Enjoy the rugby - good to support grassroots sport. Thoughts and prayers with those regulars absent lately. Enjoy as much of the day as you can everyone.
Yes, Poppy was the star of the show. Church halls do get really chilly.

Very good advice @dunelm

Just going to the kitchen and back at the moment is my limit, and then I fall asleep when I climb back in the bed.

That tiny bit of exercise is good. And I have that cat Midnight walking by my side every step of the way, until I get back in bed again...
Hope you feel a lot better tomorrow @gennepher

I have always used my own visualisations in my head when I had an exercise bike, and a rower (imagine a stream/river)in the 1980's, or if I were jogging/walking on the spot.

I used to like muddycyclist's videos of trail biking a couple years ago on this thread. You were out of breath just watching them...

Blue skies and sun is always good for the mind. I didn't know this stuff was available on YouTube....

Thank you.

Hi there Folks

Noah here. Guess my marine weather forecast software can go back into its box. Two local weather stations are reporting 29 mm of rain overnight already, which is a lot. Things seem to be floating after all. All praise to the yellow warning.

FBG 6.5 mmol/lt at 0630hrs.

Have a great day.

Contact from a stranger on messenger this morning. Whoever it is knows MrSlim and asked me to pass on a greeting. They also mentioned by name his two nephews, but neither of us can work out who it is?
Sent a generic greeting back. MrSlim has ve few family members left, perhaps this will be something good for him.
That is really intriguing @SlimLizzy.

Thank your @jwd1. I hadn't thought of doing this. Thank you for the link.

4.8 this morning.

It has been raining most of the night here being in Nottinghamshire we have seen some quite severe flooding repeatedly and with the ground being saturated it can be quite worrisome though not so much for me personally as I live on the top of a hill.

Got a cat scan booked for this afternoon at QMC just 17 miles from here I really dislike going there especially as Kingsmill hospital is just 3 miles from me.

Good morning everyone on a dull but dry start to the day here in the dark and dangerous north. 5.8 on the player of games monitor this am. An exploration yesterday; down though the woods and over the bridge, along the beck looking for the kingfishers - no luck on that occasion. Fish bites for the grandchildren (they don’t like chips), wander down the beach, back up the bank, ice cream, wander home. About 6 miles throughout the day. Both nephews scored tries (positions 8 and 10) and team won 33 to 5 - bit lop sided albeit a league match. Thai curry last night - I had mine with zero noodles. Art bit - I’ll leave it at that. Probably another wander along the beach this morning before the grandchildren head off home. But first, koffy and a few exercises. Stay safe, if the weather is going to be bad - best to prepare.

Fantastic scenery and representaation.

8.8 at 0530 today. Then up to 11.0 half an hour ago. Haven't taken time to eat anything yet - busy baking. There is a possibility of visitors later this morning - nothing certain. Just in case, I've made some coffee and cardamom cakes - good flavour but nothing fancy and some, unsandwiched, custard creams. Also plain. If I was sure they would come, I would sandwich them with custard flavoured cream but if I do that and they don't come, I'll be left with soggy biscuits.

Better get on and clear up the kitchen - that's the worst part about baking.
