What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

6.0 today but this is a couple of hours later than usual.
Ive not been exercising very much over the past week and its starting to show in my bs readings. Ive also put on about a kilo when my weight has been stable for ages.
Its all since we lost our little dog Tilly, I seem to be going to pot without her to keep me healthy.

goodluck for your gp visit alf
And good luck to your gp!

Agree @rhubarb73 had many a discussion with Dr and Dn about BMI. It does upset a lot of people thinking they are still overweight when they have worked so hard.

O/T anyone heard from @Mick1959 recently - there has been a big RTA near where he lives just wondered if he and his were all ok?

Sending hugs

Take care.

A few years back my daughter emigrated and I got to look after her dog. The walking got me into something I didn't think I'd enjoy. When "Maddy" died a couple of years ago it was a strange and somewhat lonely experience walking without her. Today, several years later its totally normal and well worth the effort. I do recommend you keep it up , if you possibly can. Best thoughts in all events.

Thanks I know you are right, it feels like a dog gives you a purpose for a walk but there really is nothing to stop me walking for the pleasure of it. I just have to make myself do it until it becomes habit, and at least I don’t have to remember to take poo bags with me now!

@DJC3 That's your summer of love side coming out!
Stay strong you got this we got your back - (full range of tee shirts and posters available)

Ah halcyon days without a care in the world!
Thanks, I’ll get back on the metaphorical horse, might treat myself to a fitbit for encouragement - do you recommend?

@DJC3 Atta girl. Re fitbit - other wearable fitness bands are available at all good stores and some not so good stores - they do provide loads of data to mull over and discern trends. The MFP tool with the dashboard has helped me loads - customising the macros is needed. Weaknesses - take it off when washing and drying hands or you get lots more steps than you actually do. It can be very confusing over sleep patterns until you realise it is picking up the movements etc of the other person in the bed and debrief regularly. For some reason mine gives me astronomical heart rate when walking and quite low when doing HITT so I now also have a chest hrm. The reminder to walk 250 steps every hour is good and weekly stats make it easy to see where one slacks or excels.
Phew - lowdown lowdowned The Ionic I bought my wife looks cool and the adidas would obviously suit a poser! (guess what I want santa to bring me but my charge 2 goes well still - my have to accidently damage it )

Gosh that’s a lot of info, thank you. Some of it completely unintelligible to me, I must say. I think I need to find a compromise between technology overload and price. I will spend the evening researching.

@DJC3 but they are so on point - we are both Waitrose kinda folk one simply must have a wearable fitness band just to belong
