What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Good morning all. 5.5 today. Walk for me today.
Got some treatment for pleurisy... so hopefully it will start to improve.
Hugs to everyone experiencing lows, hope it settles down for the new season soon.
Some rugby on the tv this afto, might just light the stove, sit down and not do much.
Have a great weekend.

5.2 this morning. Got an extra hours lie in than normal and feel worse for it. Think I get that used to little sleep that when I get a good 6 hours my body doesn’t know what’s happened

Your post made me feel better. I was wide awake at 4:00 am and not happy about it; now that I've read your post I'm telling myself I'd have felt worse if I'd slept in. LOL

6.4 at 4:05 this cold morning (4 degrees outside, feels like it in here).

Have a happy, healthy, hypo-free Saturday, everyone!

5.8 this morning, same as when I went to bed. Docs swapped me back to Met from Glic yesterday so I am hoping my numbers will drop. Reason for change, says doc, is that I'm not losing any weight despite doing the right things.

Yes to some of us it is so hard to lose weight , I did lose at 1000 calories daily however , metformin is Said to make weight loss easier . .. hope it will help you greatly , I also try to gain muscle mass and to become fit in all muscles which I believe also help diabetes and to a lesser extent keep weight down

Hi Ian
No nothing to do with the prescription

Going back to Tesco today to pick it up
I need replacement medicine for Monday for various things
I use a weekly pill box and fill it up on a Sunday evening ready for the week ahead

Cheers
Ian

I do mine on a Saturday night.

good morning all

4.6 today

slept later than usual today, no idea why might get some gardening done at mum's later today as the weather is currently cold but sunny. Got to pick up some shopping too, the cheese mountain is down to a cheese speed bump

Hope your weekend is going well

Currently I'm doing 20mins daily on the cross trainer, plus a 2.5m walk up to the village and back. My carbs are less than 50g but my cals are around 1500-2000 so they will be the next thing to go

Woke up at 4.40am this morning for some reason. Did a little test as I never wake during the night so obviously don't do any middle of the night tests so decided I'd do it this time as waking at that time is a rarity for me. Was 6.4. Went back to sleep and then woke around 9am, measured again and was 5.9.

Happy with that. I'd be satisfied with that any morning really but especially today as I thought I may have been higher today. When I went to bed I thought I may wake over 7 because I had a little treat last night sort of. 9.30PM I had a double choc chip protein cookie and a glass of milk. Totals about 42g of carbs. That's 2 or 3 units of novorapid for me usually but when I measured before having it I was 4.7 or something and I become more insulin sensitive as the day goes on it seems, for example my breakfast is about 42g of carbs and I take 6 units and don't have any issues but if I did that for a dinner of 42g of carbs I would absolutely hypo, and thought to myself I don't want to take 2 or 3 units in case it makes me hypo so only took one unit of insulin instead. Expected that to push me up but was willing to take that instead of risking a hypo so to wake up to a 5.9 was a nice surprise.

Afternoon gang. Late posting today as Saturdays are very busy with the urchins’ sporting activities.
Today’s score is 6.1.
The school has produced a recipe book with contributions from parents and kids. A bit of fun and mostly stuff I can’t eat. However the have put in a page with the flipping food pyramid saying that starchy carbs are the foods that are “most required in our diets.”
Eyes rolling.

Oops - quite like the comfort of a Range Rover but sorry @Bubbsie on behalf of other Chelsea Tractors - we do use it for pulling out tree roots and moving sheds etc for the boys - can we be excused?
Its not the SUV's per se Ian...just how some drive them in such appalling weather...I have a fast four wheel drive car however I don't see any point in tail gating other vehicles just to get past them then pull into another lane immediately to prove a point.

I agree with that @Bubbsie also the clowns who want to race everyone

8.8 this morning. Very relieved to get that after a hypo-hyper seesaw last night. Need to learn what to do in the case of a hypo...how much is enough? Nice day here today, sun shining after a blowy night. Off out to a charity dinner tonight, no potatoes on my plate and husband will happily eat my pudding.

If that is you in your avatar then there doesn't appear to be a whole lot to leave.
What a little charmer. It is indeed me but that was 3 months ago, insulin I'm sure, less activity and sadness has contributed to a belly wobble.

Sorry to hear of the sadness - hope it is not the kind that is always with one. If it is sometimes time can alter one's perspective.

5.4 today. Love that.

Busy day today but don't ask me what I've done! Trying our a new pub tonight. Just had chicken in bacon with veg. Going for a couple of glasses of prosecco tonight. Bubbles do tend to go to my head these days. I'm a very cheap date!

Happy Saturday evening all.
