What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

No numbers for me today. The last train back from London was cancelled. Talking of numbers .... Yesterday was the first time ever I was charged fifty pence to spend a penny.

Thank you. I've been doing great with cooking lovely diet doctor recipes, but I think with being unwell I had no enthusiasm to cook and the easy option for the men was takeaway.... it just got me down. Tonight I'm making sure I cook and having a nice keto bolognaise with salad.

I think your recovery will be delayed if you do not eat sufficiently, next time you have a situation like that leave the concern for blood sugar levels for consideration when you are fully recovered from your illness your body in order to heal needs feeding .:)

Morning...up at a more reasonable hour today thank goodness...great INR results yesterday...Harry had his dodgy toe 'done' he was so groggy afterwards spent the whole evening watching him like a hawk...woke to a 5.6

I hope Harry is better now.

Thank you, you sound just like my husband....he keeps saying the same, get better then back to what I was doing with the low carbs etc.

He's much better now Saskia...back to his old tricks...we had a leisurely stroll in our park he's not allowed to walk on the grass yet..so .he was slightly miffed...but back to his usual self thank you.

May also be worth looking carefully at just how LC you were before the illness and the makeup of those carbs. Not everyone will maintain optimum health at very low levels of carb or sustain very low levels for ever. To be clear, many people can thrive on very low carbs but it is always worth evaluating just where one's own base level is.

Thank you, that's interesting to know as I'm very rarely ill and this has totally knocked me sideways. My carbs were 30g a day, generally eating eggs, cheese, butter and then a meal of beef mince in the evenings.
Maybe I need to up them a little although I want good weight loss too. My bg level has been 4.5 this afternoon and I've been really shaky. Just eaten now so should subside.....seems I still have so much to learn.

Listen to your body.

And to your doctor. What has s/he said about LC eating? What did they say in the ER?

It may be that the total carbs are fine but include some veggies in the mix - which you may well do already but it is unclear from that post. Anyhow, hope the recovery continues and however you proceed when fully recuperated you flourish.

My doctor said nothing really, told me I am prediabetic and I need to exercise. That was all the info he gave me. Told me not to test my bg levels and when I mentioned LCHF he said no you need to just eat more fruit and veg i.e. healthy eating and not to eat high fat!!
The doctor in the hospital said everything I'm doing is good and I'm taking the right steps to avoid T2...
I just need to get well again as I was enjoying the LCHF way and feeling amazing...

Thank you, yes I do have broccoli and cauliflower.
Let's hope so, fingers crossed.
