NOT BEING ABLE TO EAT WHAT I WANT, Outdoor gardening, Bad weather, Floods, Bush fires, Below zero temperatures, Not being able to walk my dog (she is to old),
6.4 this morning I started checking my sugars again 6 weeks ago after a sebaceous cyst on my neck got infected & would not respond to antibiotics. when I checked my morning sugars they were over 12. I started taking 2 Metformin 500mg XR tablet per day instead of one & I have now had a couple of reading of 5.4 & 5.5.

My reading first thing was 5.7 with my normal meter. It's been between 5.7 & 6.1 for the last few days, despite even greater efforts to eliminate sugars & carbs. Previously I used to test just once a week (as that's all my prescription allows) & it varied from high 4's to mid 5's. Can't work out why it's suddenly a little higher. I also tested with a new meter this morning & it read 5.1. Now I'm becoming even more confused. (The old meter is still OK - as I also did a 'control solution' test).

Hello mates,
At a couple of the other forums I've frequented there was a thread like this one where we all sorta checked in each day, with our first cup of coffee or tea, and reported our fasting or waking blood glucose level and some short comment about whether we're ok with it or if not - why not?...

It worked well as a sort of 'first thread to check' each morning and post to.

I'll start.

This morning was a 5.6mmol for me. That's about normal for me

What about you?
Suffer from pre-dawn spike up to 9 to 14. This morning was 9.4. Need to eat and move around a bit to bring it down. Otherwise it stays high until late morning. I think this is the only blot on my copy book as otherwise my sugars are generally under control - I just can't shift those morning readings down to the 5-6 that I would want. If I could my HYBA1C would probably be in target range instead of just in the red.

5.3 this morning at 9.30am Canberra Australian time, this the lowest reading I have had since being told I had T2 in 2013. I must be doing something right.

6.3 at 9.15am I think the mashed potato I had with my dinner last night was a bit on the large size.
