What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Morning all. @DEBBIESCOTT, your post puzzled me about the driving. If you are under 5, are you not allowed to drive? And what is MODY please? I have rarely been under 5, so this is new to me. Bedtime 5.5. Today at 4.15....5.4. Good day everyone
I don't know about @DEBBIESCOTT but in Australia we are not allowed/supposed to drive if we're on medication that can lower blood sugar level and we have a BSL of below 5.0

Yes have to be over 5 to drive in uk if you’re on glucose lowering medication
MODY is a rare type of diabetes, I produce normal amounts of insulin & insulin sensitive, my problem is actually releasing the insulin, on 20mg of gliclazide & can & often hypo, usually have to eat 3 meals & 3 snacks a dayto keep blood sugar in range, if I don’t take the gliclazide blood sugar will carry on rising

Morning all , havnt posted last few days . Fbg was 7.6 but not worried as I've alot going on atm and I'd say this has put numbers up as carbs still being kept low. Enjoy your day folks

I'm 9.2 now. There's no rhyme nor reason to this (edit: not fasting, sorry, ate 2 hours ago). The only thing I can do is bend with the reeds. Edit 9.2 doesn't concern me much; only lows and really high highs (which I don't consider 9.2 to be because I've been 27 before lol, but that's just me) generally scare me. I'd rather be in the 9s than in the twos

Morning all, it's a nippy -18c here brrrr. I had a restless night. I woke up at 3.21 am with my BG at 4.4 got up to have a biscuit but by the time I made it to the kitchen my liver dumped and I was at 5.8. A couple of hours later I got up to make myself a cuppa and my bloody sugars were at 9.6. I have no idea why. All I had for supper were a couple of salmon cakes. Simple ones with mostly salmon tail ends and a bit of mash potato, salt and pepper sheesh. My sugars were at 10.7. I have no clue why my sugars bounce around like this.

No one ever told me that!! I was diagnosed in 2009! I didn't know there were so many types of diabetes either. Never too old to learn! Thank you

Morning all. @PenguinMum, sent you a hug for a 7.2, it will come down. @JohnEGreen, :singing: Happy Birthday.
Bedtime 6.2 and this morning 6.4. My fault, stupidly had a buttered white bread roll with ham and lots of salad in when my grandson came to visit (Have to buy things that I don't/shouldn't eat when he comes). It punished me by giving me horrendous heartburn. Serves me right? :banghead:
