What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Still got a stinking head cold that left me with less than 2 hours of sleep last night. However, I got a reading of 5.1 this morning, which I'm delighted with.

I didn't post yesterday. Reading then was 4.5.

A small point of interest; on Wednesday, I had my first potato in the five weeks since I was diagnosed. Baked potato with a tin of tuna and side salad. My reading on Wednesday morning had been the same as today (5.1), and my reading two hours after my baked potato meal was only 5.7

Nice to know that I can have the occasional 'treat' without my numbers shooting up

I really miss baked potato. Wonder if I should try it and see what my BG is 2 hrs after :)

:p I dream of potatoes!

Odd really, before diagnosis I never really bothered much with them, but now I shouldn't have them at all, I live for the day I can have chips without worrying about my BG going through the roof!

I used to love the smell of chips but was always disappointed in the taste, particularly oven chips. I don't eat potatoes now but if I do get a craving for the smell of the chip pan, I just have a few celeriac chips or less preferred swede. They don't taste the same but they satisfy that want. :)
