What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

No idea why I am in the 7.1s in the morning but its getting rather annoying. Could be the lack of sleep I have been getting, and that I so want to move to somewhere else to live, nasty neighbours. I keep wishing ...........

Ladynijo:
Late posting- 6.8 this morning. Putting it down to stress, lack of sleep etc.

Well, FBGs of 7.1 and 6.8 are none too shabby.

Regarding lack of sleep, do you find it hard to fall asleep when you first turn in for the night? I used to lie awake in bed until I adopted the same, non-negotiable bedtime every night. Keeping to a nightly routine, even at weekends, is the single factor which helps me to drop off.

If sleep disturbances during the night are the main problem, then anxiety about your neighbours (or indeed stress of any kind) is doing you no favours, as I think you both realise.

Yes but unfortunately there is nothing I can do about the neighbours from hell and I am not in a position to move, if I could I would. I have no problem going to sleep, its the waking up during that's not helping I think.

Morning All. 7.4 today funny how slow it is to come down but can jump upwards with ease! @MissMuffett great come back, @RoughcutAU keep going it will come down eventually. @Lainie71 so many bad neighbours, one lot of ours have a jungle garden that strays its briars and weeds i to ours no matter how often we cut them down. Hug for the stress. Have a great Saturday everyone and take care.

The issue for me is similar, in that I don’t have an issue dropping off to sleep, it’s waking up and having a restless night because of other factors. In my case the latter including an affectionate feline jumping on me, work stress & worrying about - well you name it, I worry it to death at night. Not that it solves anything!

I’ve discovered that the app Calm has some sleep stories which send me to sleep almost instantly, and if I play one of those when I wake up, it sometimes settles me down again. Bed time stories for grown ups! I have a good idea of my sleep patterns now as I have an Oura smart ring which gives data on how much quality sleep I’m actually getting. I’ve identified that my bedtime is very regular, and when I don’t get enough sleep for one or two nights, I seem to catch up subsequently. That’s what happened last night & I feel much better today. And my FBG is lower too.

I think since I had a week or so of readings in the 5’s, I now regard FBGs in the 6’s as failures, whereas you’re right, it’s not too bad at all. Particularly when the dawn phenomenon is factored in.

Morning all, back in the Uk no stress working out what’s in a meal/ how much insulin to take or fear of not waking up due to hypo’s in some foreign hotel room.

A stable 5.3 slept like a log

Funny how I’m excited to try my new ultra-rapid insulin today that’s if my pharmacy have it ready.
