Hug for being disappointed with fbg and it being winter. One of the worst aspects for me is LC/Keto food has never really worked for me in winter. No point lying. Modern techy clothes are much lighter and dog walks in the woods on icy days are good but then one needs another shower and a whole other set of clothes.Pinch punch 1st day of the month! I’m disappointed with 6.5 mmols at 7:30am
Snap @ianpspurs I hate winter too. I don’t like wearing socks (I think I only own 1 pair!), I have to wear slippers in the winter and my hands go cold as soon as I touch something cold plus I have to wear at least 3 layers to keep warm. I have read that getting out into the daylight as soon as possible and let your eyes absorb as much natural light as possible for at least 10 minutes (don’t wear sunglasses or look through a window) helps with the circadian rhythms.
Have a fab Friday everyone x
I hope metformin works for you, I started 2 weeks ago and my bloods are gradually coming down, I haven't had any side effects with it at all. Though being away for a few days, eating more carbs than usual, snacking at 3am last night and then only having 3 hours sleep has set me up for a 9.8 this morning. It happens. I hope life things get better for you!Well things have gone downhill since Wednesday morning. life chaos, pain and stress are definitely my triggers for eating sugar and carbs.
11.2 tuesday, 11.3 this morning. I really struggled this morning but did manage to drag myself to the pool. Must have had my grumpy face on, thankfully none of the regulars spoke to me.
Edit: forgot to add, took my first dose of metformin today. Will see how it goes.

Oh no! I thought you were doing ok having a slice or 2 of green apple.Good morning️ from California!
4.94 mmol/L 89 mg /dL. Happy Friday morning. My fructose experiment failed. Find out I have fructose intolerance. So like I said I am back in the bitterness lifestyle.
Have a nice day everyone
4.30pm.Devil took hold last night and gave me an 8am awakening BG 18.6mmol.
I had a late tea and with pasta, but wasn't expecting it quite so high.
Dry mouth, blurry vision and feel lethargic and low today. I'll fast until the numbers reduce to single figures.
Feel like going back to bed and start again from scratch after I've had another sleep. I'm sure to be back in the game later, so see you all later.
Hi @Ashybang Yup, you're diabetic. Pasta plays old Harry with our BG levels.4.30pm.
Blood Glucose still high @12.6, but I'm going to eat now whilst it's early and hopefully BG level will go down during evening and night.
I'll just put today down to experience as a bad day. Dinner coming up shouldn't do too much damage.... Salmon fillet with green beans , plus small jacket potato and I'm leaving it at that. I'd go without food, as I'm not hungry atm, but don't want to make the same mistake as last night, by getting hungry and eating just before bedtime.
Hope you are all having a smashing day and can afford to have the gas central heating on..... Brrrr but its cold!
LivingLightly, Thank you for reply & advice.Hi @Ashybang Yup, you're diabetic. Pasta plays old Harry with our BG
A jacket spud, even a small one, would spike me too. If I were you, I'd eat the skin and put the rest out for the birds in your neighbourhood. They could use the extra carbs to keep warm in this exceptionally cold weather
Have you tried dipping into the Food and Nutrition neighbourhood of the forum? You'll find lots of low carb options there.LivingLightly, Thank you for reply & advice.
Don't know why?
I've found if I eat potato in very small amounts, my Blood Sugar only goes up a point or two.
(2 hours after dinner with small jacket potato and my BG is 12.1 mmol and heading in the right direction).
Pasta, bread, & pastries seem vastly different and can spike me 10- 15 points.
That small jacket spud in now resting gently in my tummy.
You're right of course about chucking the pasta from the cupboard out.
I knew it was bad, bad, BAD, VERY BAD for me, yet still ate some pasta last night and regretted it all day today.
I still need to add more menu ingredients to the kitchen to help overcome the lack of carb filled ingredients.
I love bacon and egg sandwich,
Chicken Tikka with rice and Naan bread.
Lots of pasta dishes,
Shepherd's/Cottage pie.....
Any Pastry Pie
That's not forgetting favourites like Bread and Butter Pudding etc etc.
Yup...... I'm learning that it's a real bummer, being diabetic... .....
I shan't eat anything else, and will have my last drink in around 15 minutes.
Expecting a decent level for my BG reading on waking tomorrow and I'm guessing about 7.5mmol......
We shall see.....
You've got me thinking about the birds, struggling for food & energy to help stay alive in this freezing weather.
I think a trip to Wilkos or Pet store could be on the agenda, with a view to setting up a bird feeding station.
Thanks for the thoughts.....
Can I come and eat off your bird table? It might be the only thing to keep my numbers down now I have had meds stopped.LivingLightly, Thank you for reply & advice.

Thank you for your reply and well wishes. Will make it top priority tomorrow, to visit the Food and Nutrition section.Have you tried dipping into the Food and Nutrition neighbourhood of the forum? You'll find lots of low carb options there.
I really enjoy my meals, it must be said, and don't feel deprived with a low-carb-healthy-fat [LCHF] lifestyle. It helps to focus on the many delicious foods we can safely eat and not dwell too much on those high carb 'goodies' that landed us in diabetic territory in the first place.
I hope your efforts today are rewarded with an improved FBG reading tomorrow morning.
