What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Morning All so 7.6 and am now fed up with 7s. I did have upset tum in early hours and awake for a couple of hours but not really blaming it on that. @Welshman1952 I am going to take inspiration from you to change things up. Hugs for those, like me, disappointed with their FBG. @Ashybang keep going. @Estragon I keep humming Stayin’ Alive to the words “Back in the Hive” or tailored for me “Aim for the Hive”. Lol. Happy Sunday all.

BG 7.3 mmol after 4 days in the 5s.
I did however, have a 3am snack ( which I avoided when getting '5'mmol readings.
I'll keep trying for good consistency.
But it's so easy to lose your way.....
Have a lovely peaceful Sunday.
At least you know what snacking in the night does, but why are you up at 3am?

Thank you @PenguinMum for such kind words

Blimey @Ashybang, you really are on a roll. I am curious to know whether these consistent numbers are having an effect on your leg problems.
I still have leg and foot issues currently, but am tinkering with some heart meds, that have side effects of swollen legs and ankles etc.
Situation is fluid and ongoing, but am hoping for a change for the better.
I have issues with numbness, no feeling in parts and stinging plus burning pain in other parts. Getting the swelling down has had some success so far, but still a long way to go. Also feel like I'm walking with a stone in my shoe. It's still there currently......

Lol nothing exciting keeping me up!
It's not unusual for me to be awake at 3am. There are times when I'm in bed for 10pm and I just awaken, can't get back to sleep, so I stay up for a while until tiredness kicks in again. I may stay up an hour or two.
Regular sleep from 11pm to 7am, with no disturbance is a problem.
Early hours this morning I'd woken and felt a little hungry. I had some Big soup, without which I'm sure my reading would have been in the 5s again. . . . .
I have taken earlier advice and made drinks with bovril recently, which has been brilliant in curbing early hours munchies when I have them, but this morning I had the soup.

Good Morning …

Well morning anyway.

FBG Fingerprick 7.4 Libre 7.1

@Peanut234 I still check my Fingerprick a couple times a day for two reasons 1. I just got into routine of it after only having a my first libre over a year after diagnosis. 2. Libre is accurate enough but can still occassionally do some odd readings - especially when new.

First libre reading 8.4 this morning, after a sleep in.
Do many people do libre reading and also finger prick? Why?
Evening @Peanut234. The short answer is yes.

The Libre measures the amount of glucose in the interstitial fluid between your cells. It’s not as accurate as a finger prick test which gives an instantaneous measure. The Libre results lag behind blood glucose levels by up to 15 minutes.

Both systems have their limitations. CGMs such as Libre are great pieces of kit, but you're advised to double check readings especially highs and lows that fall outside the expected range.

I only finger prick for fasting BG and if I am experimenting with new foods. It is more accurate than the CGM.
I use the CGM frequently during the day to see what my approximate BG trend is and the reasons for unexpected changes. For example, my high reading alarm went off while I was struggling to put something together the other day, and every time one of my children phones me - I now know how stress affects my BG and I can deal with it appropriately.
This should hopefully bring down my overall Hb1Ac.
