Evening @MissMuffett. We've missed your posts.
Christmas can be such a a difficult time. We feel the loss of those who have died all year round, but feel it even more keenly at Christmas when they were so much a part of all our family traditions. Christmas just isn't the same without them.

After a week of increasing numbers I have finally given myself a smack down….i have proven to myself that I cannot eat carbs. No more corn tortillas. Even just a couple of small ones….my body just can’t. Holiday or not, no cheating!
sigh, I’ll just watch hubby eat.
7.1 this morning, 9.9 two hours after eating. I had eggs and chorizo, some guacamole and a few corn tortillas. The worst I’ve been for a long while. And we walked to and from breakfast too.
there’s lots I can eat, so for that I am grateful. Grilled chicken salad tonight and lots of water and electrolytes.
its gorgeous here and snowing back home.
Excelente @Bcgirl. The typical Mexican way of eating is not particularly diabetic-friendly, but there's lots of interesting foods you can eat, as you say, without pushing up your BG levels.

Have you tried ceviche? Originated in Peru I believe, but has now caught on in Latin American countries all along the Pacific.

I'm the same not the getting up and eating but the being awake for hours ..drives me mad .
Yes @mojo37 it can make for very very long days, when a few hours shut eye is needed.
Very frustrating indeed.
I find it such a relief when I've been to bed and awaken to light outside, but it doesn't happen often enough.

Evening @Ashybang and @mojo37.

Do you find it hard to fall asleep when you first turn in for the night? I used to lie awake in bed until I adopted the same, non-negotiable bedtime every night. Keeping to a nightly routine is the single factor which has helped me the most to get a good night's shut-eye.

If waking during the night, for no obvious reason, is the chief hurdle, this may be closely connected with your diabetes and changes in blood glucose levels. It can be a bit of a catch-22 problem which is self-perpetuating, but it's possible to break the vicious circle. if you can bring your BG levels down, by reducing your carbohydrate intake during the day, you may well suffer fewer sleep disturbances.

Not a seafood lover at all….but it would be a perfect low carb dish.

Being told “Oh go on, one won’t hurt you!”.
Conversely, the food police.
Libre 5.4
Finger prick 5.2

In the Hive for the 3rd day running, despite experimenting with one small roast spud, and a spoonful of gravy with my roast chicken last night.(in training for Christmas dinner ;) )

Good morning everyone. Disappointed with the start of this weeks results at 7.4. It’s been in the 7s for nearly 10 days now and I haven’t posted often as I’ve been really down in the dumps. Missing my husband who died 3 years ago
Oh sweetie, that's sad. My heart and hugs go out to you. Tough time of year, but take what you can from us loons, we're all with you. x

Morning All so 6.7 today, better than those sneaky sevens. A lot to cheer and celebrate here today. @MissMuffett we are all virtually wrapping our arms around you. Hugs to all who need them. Off for the last eye injection of the year today so an afternoon of relaxing on sofa with a rug and two keen moggies and listening to the radio. Take care all.

7.5. I seem to be trending in the 7's most days which I'm happy about given I was at 13-16's just a few weeks ago but I'm not sure how to keep it going down now. There's not much more I can do food wise without losing the will to live but I do need to up my exercise so hopefully that will be the push to lower levels a lil bit more.

Thanks for replying.
I usually get very tired and drop off to sleep quickly, but 3 hours or close too, later, I'm awake and then can't nod off again for a couple of hours.
My bedtime BG level has improved over past couple of months, but can still be erratic and also in Double figures mmol on occasion. I am trying to get this under control by eating earlier in the evening.
Had a bad reading this morning, after having a good week.....
BG 10.6 mmol @ 7am......
Just to say, this morning high reading was my own fault.
Had chicken salad for tea.........
........

Just had a call from Doctor Surgery.
My fat TG levels are very high and he wants me to re-test and see me.

Can someone please tell me what HbA1C levels are.
Mine were 80 and are now 62.
I think that's an improvement, but just don't know what it means.
Apologies its off topic.
Many Thanks
