What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Morning All
Mixed fortunes here today as often happens. Hugs to those who need them.
This morning I’m 7.8 after only remembering after making tea and feeding the felines but tbh it wasn’t going to be great anyway. @RosemaryJackson sorry you’re having such a tough time and am hoping for some relief for you. @Estragon I know you will be fine and back in that Hive. @flonvic hope you got a chance to talk it through and you’re satisfied with the new regime thats all that matters. Another soggy day so decorating the tree day. Take care everyone.
Not seeing dn until jan.she seems understanding so fingers crossed she restarts linagliptin.

FBG 6.8 this soggy morning. That is well out of order, I slept in so it was a late test but I haven’t even had a sniff of a single mince pie yet. And I went for a swim yesterday. I shall rise above it, I am not a number.

Only 6 sleeps before my trip to hobbit land, excitement building

Blimey @Ashybang, you really are on a roll. I am curious to know whether these consistent numbers are having an effect on your leg problems.

I got excited when I saw 4.2 on my Libre but quickly realised it was a compression low.
Finger prick revealed the true reading of 6.7.
Still out of ketosis for some reason.

Morning All. Thank you everyone for your good wishes on becoming a PenguinNan. We feel so blessed. Today 7.3 on the scale. Need to think up some strategies. @Welshman1952 welcome and I wonder if you make a pact with your GP to leave off the meds for a few months and give you a chance to improve your numbers. Kind of throwing down the gauntlet might be just the answer. Never easy with Christmas looming but pick your fights. For one day I will have one roastie, stuffing, gravy but will forego the sweet stuff and if you can’t maybe a small ramekin of Christmas pud! Good luck.
Yes I'm seeing the doc on the 18th and will be hopefully taking some improved BG readings. In addition I lost 5lb this week and if I can add another 3 by the 18th it will hopefully go in my favour.

I'm Jewish and as some may know it's Hannukah and I've been sooooo good and refrained from latkes, donuts and cheesecake, but I've had so much fun watching my family enjoy themselves knowing I'm looking after myself again.

I confess I do love Xmas sweet things but I am really going careful this year. Maybe a mince pie or thin slice of Xmas cake (no icing) followed by a 20 min brisk walk to help burn it away. I'm going to have 1/2 of a potato roasted with lots of veggies and my famous mushroom gravy ().

In addition I've found a vegan sugar free jelly, so if I fancy anything else sweet that should do.

Above all, I'm not going to make food the centrepiece of Xmas, but make a point if enjoying all the other parts.

Fortunately I don't drink alcohol anyway, so a can or two of sugar free coke or orange will do me nicely.

Fasting sugar today remains high at 9.6 mmol but I've only been back on track for a week so it's still early days. 7 days ago it was 14.2 so I'm showing improvement AND I lost 5lbs this week too.

All promising signs so watch this space.

Fantastic results so far. They should motivate you to get through the upcoming festive season.

Hello @Welshman1952. This morning's FBG reading isn't great, but you must be pleased it's now heading in the right direction.

Temptations abound in December, but that appointment with your GP on the 18th is a powerful incentive to stay on the straight and narrow! Please keep us posted.

6.7 FBG. Might have been the roast parsnips (slapped wrist, naughty!) or possibly the fruit yoghurt dessert. Don’t have time to make my usual sugar free jellies so bought some yoghurt & I think the sweeteners are too much, even though it looked Ok on the ingredients.

Only 4 sleeps..

7.8 today.A reading that does not start with an 8 at last.
@flonvic hurray! Antibiotics probably kicking in and helping.
@Ashybang on a positive note you seem to have figured out what caused the blip. I wish I could find a pattern for my readings.
@RD02 Very nice!
@LivingLightly - my role model for consistency.
@Ladynijo Thanks for the heads up about parsnips.
@DEBBIESCOTT Christmas Market - oooo enjoy!

Me on this early Sunday morning
Libre 6.2
Fingerprick … *drumroll* …. 5.7
Did two pokes, different hands, just to confirm. Each one 5.7
