What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

7.0. Not happy with hitting a seven after 13 days of 6s. Re tested, 5.8! Didn't trust that, too big a jump. Retested 6.3. Now I just don't beleive any of them, so I'm gonna skip today's readings and just carry on. A new week folks. Hang in there.

FBG 6.4 this Monday morning.Thats a bit better, although trying to clear the fridge for hols has lead to some odd juxtapositions of food. Salad & scallops is surprisingly good.

Going for a swim, missed it yesterday as finishing up work stuff, easier when there’s no one in the office to interrupt. Sorting & washing today. 3 sleeps left!

Good morning everyone. Disappointed with the start of this weeks results at 7.4. It’s been in the 7s for nearly 10 days now and I haven’t posted often as I’ve been really down in the dumps. Missing my husband who died 3 years ago
I am sorry - this time of year is so hard, isn’t it? I wish we could all reach out and give you physical hugs and comfort.

7.4 is only 0.4 off 6 and you will get there. Emotional and mental states often have an impact on our readings - or at least mine do!

Wishing you peace and tranquility.

Morning all a pleasant 5.3 this morning. Appears the Omnipod 5 system suites me well, Dexcom flat lines through the night in the middle 5’s the only challenge now it’s every time a CGM needs changing out waiting for it to become stable readings

Morning @Ashybang. If waking during the night, for no obvious reason, is the chief problem, this may be closely connected with your diabetes and changes in blood glucose levels.

It sounds like a catch-22 situation, but if you can hang in there and bring your BG levels down by reducing your carbohydrate intake during the day, you may well suffer fewer sleep disturbances.

When this happens, more often than not, it's the first test which is unreliable for any number of reasons. You were right to retest.

If in doubt, a control solution to test the functionality of your meter and test strips is available from your local pharmacy. If stored correctly, they will keep for 12 weeks after opening and some last much longer.

WoW another cracking result
.BG 4.3mmol on waking.
@MissMuffett Hugs
@LivingLightly will go all out for a further reduction during the day of Carbs, stick to it as well as I can and see if my sleep improves.
There is no obvious reason I can think of,
to me waking in early hours......
Sometimes I need to pee, but not too often.
@aylalake very nice result today.

Thank you for the kind comment, and for the legs update yesterday.
For you, this is proof that snacking in the small hours doesn’t suit your body. What a great result again.

I'm the same not the getting up and eating but the being awake for hours ..drives me mad .

After a week of increasing numbers I have finally given myself a smack down….i have proven to myself that I cannot eat carbs. No more corn tortillas. Even just a couple of small ones….my body just can’t. Holiday or not, no cheating!
sigh, I’ll just watch hubby eat.
7.1 this morning, 9.9 two hours after eating. I had eggs and chorizo, some guacamole and a few corn tortillas. The worst I’ve been for a long while. And we walked to and from breakfast too.
there’s lots I can eat, so for that I am grateful. Grilled chicken salad tonight and lots of water and electrolytes.
its gorgeous here and snowing back home.
