What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

I think if you are on Gliclazide as it can cause hypos, then they will prescribe strips.

Does the cold weather impact your blood glucose levels?

Sound like T2 have a tough time with the NHS. For us type 1’s cgm/ test strips are the norm on prescription, that said it’s a postcode lottery! I myself have had to fund omnipod 5 as my control is deemed as too good. If I didn’t give a stuff had high blood sugars the nhs would give me all the tech I need. I do care but am forced to self fund. Rant over

Honestly, when it’s incredibly cold I don’t go out. Once it snows (tends to be warmer) I do go out a lot, but I work…I shovel our house and then the walking trail out back….so generally my blood sugar elevates. I find heat really affects me with big rises.

Libre 6.7
Contour 6.8
Too many salt & vinegar peanuts for supper
Daughter back at work this week so we’ve got 11 month old granddaughter at work this morning, don’t think we’ll get much work done
Take care everyone, another very cold day, hugs to all who need them

Morning all. A fasting BG of 6.6 for me today. The house is cold atm as the central heating has only just kicked in so I guess it must be pretty chilly. Outside. I live in the SW and apparently it's far worse further north with some areas getting snow.. If you're one of those peeps stay safe and warm today.

I'm off out birding later - never could understand how waders cope with paddling line this weather.

Have a great day all

Add me to the self-funding list. I am also on Pension Credit so it costs me just over 12% of my monthly income to buy my own

This morning, with the temperature at an average of 10 deg C in my flat my readings were …
Libre 5.4
Finger poke 4.8.
Excellent start to the day.

I have never been given any prescriptions for strips or lancets I was told didn't need to test ect yet I was originally ( 9 yrs ago) given a meter , some irony there . I have funded myself since day one .

I buy some on eBay, far cheaper than from anywhere else. I don’t buy the expired one.

6.3 on the edge of the bed, after opening eyes (and cleaning hands)

5.0 after drinking a glass of water

I guess we go by the first one isn’t it as probably more representative of the state I was in when waking.

Although I guess if you’ve ever done a fasting at the docs, water was allowed in the morning and you’d have to get up to get there unless you sleep under the nurses desk

Both are fine really compared to what I was getting before, don’t want to get too obsessed with fluctuations or half points, margins of error, etc.

6.3 at 7:15am I’ve had a jabbing pain in my stomach since yesterday morning, no idea of the cause. Plus I slipped over on the ice yesterday walking the dogs and landed on my bad knee! Both woke me in the night and because of the stomach pain I was reluctant to take any pain killer. Oh woe is me

I hope you have a warm Wednesday it’s 0° here at the moment.
